Chapter 15: Don't ignore me

Hyuningkai was sitting on the rooftop of their building. He was wearing a sky blue colored half sleeved shirt. All of his buttons were opened because there was a white t-shirt under his original shirt. His legs with light brown colored pants were hanging through the railing and he was sitting on the top as if it was nothing for him. He had a packet of snacks on his hand and he was eating the snacks from time to time and enjoying the view of the city. The sky was looking so beautiful and so did Kai.

Suddenly he saw Yeonjun was going somewhere and looked like he was in a rush. He was wearing a black shirt and pants and he put a black colored hat on his head. Though he was looking so cool, he was looking suspicious too. Hyuningkai was curious but he couldn't understand why he dressed up like a mafia and where he was going.

Yeonjun always informs Kai before going anywhere as it became both of their habits.

"Where is he going?" Hyuning said to himself and looked at Yeonjun. Yeonjun kept walking and looked around as if he was hiding his face from someone. Kai got more curious and stood up. He went down as soon as possible to follow Yeonjun.

"Is he doing something illegal? Or is he going to the bar alone? He refused to take me there so maybe he's hiding from me. Hm, then I should take a look where he's going. I don't think he can do anything illegal." Hyuningkai thought to himself while coming down the stairs. He looked around but couldn't see Yeonjun. He searched for him everywhere but in this short time, he was gone.

"Ah! Where did he go? Why is he hiding from me? He's not doing anything dangerous, right?" Hyuningkai was thinking a lot. Suddenly he saw Yeonjun coming out from an ATM booth and got inside a car as soon as he came out from the booth. Kai wanted to follow him but the black car was running at speed so Kai couldn't catch the car by running on his own legs. He was exhausted and couldn't run anymore. He stood in the middle of the streets and was breathing heavily. He wanted to follow Yeonjun more but his body wasn't supportive enough. Becoming very disappointed, he turned around and started walking their way back home.

He was waiting for Yeonjun all day but he didn't come home. Usually he goes to play with his friends but nowadays, he doesn't go with his baseball or bat. Hyuningkai was too tense about his brother. The boy who always wanted to play outside or wanted to play games, why did he change so much within just a few days? And nowadays, he doesn't behave well with him. What was he up to? Moreover, he comes home very late these days. And if Kai went to ask where he was, Yeonjun never answered him.

Kai was cooking some dumplings in soup. He added some rice cakes in it and was waiting for the soup to boil. But he was lost in his thoughts so much that he didn't notice the soup was boiling and it was falling from the pot. His hand was kept on the desk where the stove was also kept. He came back to his senses when he felt some hot liquid in his hand. He looked down and saw the red soup was falling from the pan so he hurried up and reduced the heat to medium low. He sighed and got angry not on the soup but on his brother.

"Okay! Now I need to clean this up! Why did you have to fall? Look! You destroy the whole kitchen! My hands are also burning! Ah! It hurts!" Kai was throwing his anger to the stove and it seemed like the stove was feeling guilty but actually he wasn't angry on the stove at all. Though his voice was rude to hear, he was still cute.

After some time, Yeonjun came back. Before he came inside he noticed that the lights were still on. So he could understand that Kai was still awake. He sighed and went inside. He came to the living room and saw there was food kept on the table. And beside the food, Hyuning's head was also kept on the table. Yeonjun understood that Hyuning was sitting on the chair and waiting for him. But he got bored and fell asleep on the table. He was looking just like a giant baby. He went closer and looked at his face. He was going to touch his head but he stopped himself and put his hand back. He sighed again and went upstairs to get fresh.

When he came back after taking a shower while being wrapped in a towel, he saw Hyuning was standing near the door.

"Ah! You startled me!" Yeonjun shouted.

"Hyung! Let's eat together!" Kai said.

"Okay, just leave!" Yeonjun said in a very monotonous voice. Kai got upset by his behavior again but he came to him and held Yeonjun's hand.

"Hyung! Why are you ignoring me? Did I do something wrong? Please tell me if I did something. But don't ignore me like this, please!" He was nearly begging to Yeonjun. Seeing his tears Yeonjun also became emotional. But he held himself back and pushed Kai away.

"Hyung!" Hyuningkai got more upset and looked away.

"You haven't come to my class for a week now. And you always stay outside. And never tell me what you are up to. What are you exactly hiding from me? And why?" Kai asked while looking at Yeonjun with questionable eyes.

"When did I ignore you? Stop imagining things. I'm just busy with some stuff, nothing else! Now go and wait for me downstairs." Yeonjun said loudly while looking at the other side.

"But what are you busy with? Can't you tell me? I'm your brother and I won't tell anyone but please tell me, I want to know." Kai went to Yeonjun and held his hand again. He looked at Yeonjun with his puppy eyes but his words weren't the best to hear. He just hit the point where Yeonjun felt weak and hated the most.

"That's why I can't tell you! Mind your own business! Or else I'll send you to mom. I can't live with you anymore if you keep doing this." Yeonjun became ferocious and said with a terrible look.

Kai got afraid and moved backwards. He went to his own room and locked the door. He fell on the bed and pressed his face on the pillow so that all of his tears would be soaked in the pillow. Yeonjun wanted to follow him but his legs weren't moving at all.

*KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK*

"Ning Ning! I'm sorry! Please open the door. I know I was harsh on you. But please consider my situation. I'm stuck in the middle of something. So, please forgive me this time." After fighting for some time with his mind, Yeonjun came to Hyuning's door and kept knocking. But no response was coming from inside. Yeonjun kept knocking but Kai wasn't replying from inside. He tried to rotate the door lock and surprising him, it opened. He saw Hyuning was already asleep and he was hugging his original pillow instead of his human one. The light was still on and he was looking just like an angel, an innocent angel. Yeonjun went to him and put a blanket on him and covered him. Then he sat beside him and put his index finger on his cheeks and slowly rubbed his sweet and soft cheeks.

"I can never ignore you and that's my weak point. Please don't misunderstand me. I'm doing this for you. Maybe I hurt you but if I don't do this I might hurt you more that you can't bear. So, please forgive me and please stay out of my business." Yeonjun said with a very low voice. Then he went closer to Kai and kissed his forehead. He stood up right after kissing him and went away.
