At the beginning

Mazwi was a born at Bulawayo in Zimbabwe.His mother Mrs Khumalo and father Mr Khumalo were not rich.They were average citizens.But as Mazwi grew older things got harder in their family.The reason being the economy of Zim collapsing each and everyday.There was inflation ,no employment,crimes were increasing and drug use was expanding among youths.

Things got bad for Mazwi when he had to drop out of college due to financial problems.His parents were unable to pay school fees , for him to furthers his studies.At first Mazwi tried staying at home studying and all that.With time he joined other youths and he would go to parties and stay out all night.Drinking with his peers and getting naughty.

Soon that life got harder for him also as he had no money to contribute ,whenever the guys planned something.They would plan either going out to the clubs or chilling spots or party events.But for all that to prosper they would have a certain amount each is to bring.

Mazwi couldnt afford ,when it was time to pay he would make excuses.It got to a point where his excuses were noticed by everyone.A lot of bad comment were said behind his back.

At some point he got to know what was said about him and he decided to stay at home than embarass himself.Staying at home was even harder ,his parents had lost their jobs and they were always fighting all the time.He would end up in a cross fire.His father would tell him to go and get a job or something like that ,than to stay at home doing nothing.

Mazwi woke up every morning ,and went job hunting hoping to find something.Sometimes he got piece jobs for the day and he got paid at the end of the day.

Other times he got nothing at all.There was hunger at home.There was nothing to eat literally.He had to go and beg at his neighbouring friend for food a couple of times.It wasnt a great feeling for him .He was so disappointed in himself to an extent that he decided to try stealing.

There was a gang which was known around his hood for their stealing habits.He got closer to them through one of the gang members who used to be his classmate back in high school.

They were doing minor crimes like burglary and home robberies.It was better at first for him.As he thought, it was quick money and nobody was getting hurt.As time went by ,it got intense since neighbhood patrols were appointed by citizens to patrol at night.One gang member was caught by the patrollers.He was beaten and left in critical condition by the mob of justice.He was later taken to the police after barely surviving.

After that Mazwi got scared and decided to start over.Start over meant going back to hunger and suffering.
