Destiny can be changed?

A Moon Charmer can't faint for more than five seconds. But those five seconds were like centuries to Asher.

"You are lying to me? I know, you kids like to engage in contract marriages and what you call," She tried really hard to recall, "Fake dating, but please, don't make such jokes with me."

If Rose were here, she would whistle. A Moon Charmer who changed with time and read all kinds of literature. Maybe they could swap recommendations.

"No, Mom. It's true. Like a bell. I'm dating."

She looked at him up and down.

"Ashy, it's not good to daydream at night. Come with me. I'll take you to the witch doctor. Maybe she can cure your illness."

Asher didn't know if he should be angry or speechless at the little belief his mother had in him.

"Mom, please. Try and believe me."

She searched for a chair and sat down before looking at him again. Maybe her world was still spinning.

"Ashy, you know I love you. But when your future was calculated, it was told that you would die without being in a relationship."

It was true though. He was supposed to die without being in a relationship. At the age of twenty-two. But he was saved and now, his future was undetermined.

"And that you have a huge catastrophe waiting for you. I have been meditating to pray for a solution for your life. So I really can't believe when you tell me you have a girlfriend."

Whoa, nice. He thought that his mother thought that was not an eligible bachelor.

"Maybe your prayers have been answered. And I got a girlfriend."

He knew exactly how to appease her.

"I'll bring her to meet you tomorrow."

He figured Rose wouldn't mind an extra million to meet his mom.

Asher's mom was still confused.

She sat in her room for a long time before deciding something.

She bought a basin from the storage and filled it with water.

Then she put it out on the lawn. She sat and waited till she could see the reflection of the Moon in the water.

She then clasped her hands and prayed.

"Oh, Moon God, please grant me the power. The power to communicate with the lost. With the lost and far."

The water rippled and a sleepy face appeared.

"You should have a really good reason, Cora, as you have disturbed my sleep. No no, my meditation."

Cora rolled her eyes at her cousin. He was not the heir but he became the witch doctor so her brother could be the chief. And it was a sacrifice.

So, he used it to blackmail them so he could sleep and wander.

"You told me, Asher will die soon. Can you read his star chart again?"

Moon Charmers had another ability. The ability to see the future. It's just that it manifested differently in different people.

Her cousin had a hundred and she had five. And her brother had zero.

The unshaven man in the water screen changed into a serious guy in a blink.

"You want to? Are you sure?"

She wasn't then. No parent would like it if they knew that their child would die early. She didn't want to know more because she couldn't try to alter his destiny. It would make his death come faster. But now, things seemed different.

"Yes!"

Her cousin got up and came back with two stones. They were color-changing stones that shifted according to his mood.

As he closed his eyes and calculated, the stones started releasing color bursts.

If anyone was there to witness, they would think which awesome movie CGI was that?

First, it was bright red then shades of red, then it became black for a while, and finally, a burst of pink surrounded him as if playing with him.

He opened his eyes. Curious and shocked.

What else was there to know? There. She had it. The answer.

Rose was browsing house information. It was the perk of being Asher's assistant that she had an employee discount.

There were houses and they were all like fifty million. Rose had ten million now. And the cheapest one was twenty million. Why? She didn't know. But the pictures seemed great. She could buy that soon.

She watched it for a while and fell asleep with a smile.

The next morning, she found a message from Asher asking to meet his mom at his house.

Rose styled her hair. She made sure she had bangs. She changed her eye color. And then she applied lipstick. Her clothing was also changed. She wore a dress and heels. Height change could alter a person's perception.

She changed everything about her. No shirt and pant but a dress. That would do it.

And makeup. No. She used magic to change slightly. She didn't know how to use makeup.

Rose used a portal to appear at Asher's house. It was a big villa. Something she always dreamed of.

Rose: arrived

Asher came out well-dressed. He normally wore all dark colors to the office but today he wore a white suit. He looked dashing. Like an angel.

"You look..."

He paused. There went away his angel look in her eyes.

"Different."

Would it kill him to say she looked nice?

"Come in with me."

He stretched out his hand and waited for her to react.

Rose was even more clueless. He pulled her to him and Rose pushed him away. Asher almost staggered.

He looked at her with hysterical gaze.

"Almond Tea," he hoped he was right.

Rose then realized. It was not easy to switch from assistant mode to fake girlfriend mode. She didn't know how the female protagonists did that in books and shows.

She then put his hand in his and walked with him.

Again, matching the pace was quite difficult. She often stumbled.

They somehow managed to walk in and were immediately spotted by the Moon Charmer. She was dressed up but still, you could see her almost ghostly features. Like transparent souls.

"You didn't tell me she is a beautiful witch. Come here, girl. Let me see you."

Was this a big joke? Asher's mom who almost hated witches had no problem with him dating one. But she had a huge hissy fit if a witch was his assistant.

Rose felt bad for her real self.

"You are so beautiful. I can tell that you will be my daughter-in-law in the future. Tell me when are you getting married? How about tomorrow?"

"I don't agree," A voice interrupted and Rose turned back to look at the onwer of the voice.

Who was it?

Asher's mom before: No witch is good

Asher's mom later: Only my daughter-in-law is awesome

Asher's mom now: A person who dates my son is a goddess

Haha. Isn't this funny? I like the change a lot.
