A place to spend the night

'If I'm here, then what happened to me in the real world? What about my sister? Will she be okay with that poor excuse of a father? I can't stand the thought of anything happening to her!'

Anas tried to think of a way to get back, but couldn't think of any.

"Hey! Do you want to take my offer or not! I have work to do!"

"Good. Be at the shop tomorrow by dawn. I will give you the keys then. Don't forget"

'So what now? It's still noon time and I have nothing to do. And of course, I was about to forget. I have no place to sleep the night.'

'Okay Anas, objective one: secure a place to sleep.'

It didn't take Anas a long time to find an inn.

"Hey! What does one room for one adult cost?"

Anas asked as he would from a hotel.

"Welcome, sir! All prices are listed here"

The receptionist said pointing to a board.

Anas said reluctantly.

"No worries! Here, a small room with one room costs 20 Mals per night."

'What? 20 Mals?? That's only 5 Mals less than my full one week of work with the shop owner! He said it was even at a rate I won't find anywhere!'

"Sorry but that's the cheapest one. We even are the most affordable inn in all 5 regions of Kber."

Anas left the inn with slow steps. Scammed on his first day in this new world.

'I would have went back to the shop owner but I will consider it help for his wife. I also could learn a few things there.'

Remembering animes he watched, Anas figured there would be an adventures guild in the city. And he was right.

After having what Anas considers an embarrassing situation with the receptionist because he can't read or write, Anas got some useful info.

'Apparently, there are 5 levels for adventurers. From 1 to 5. 1 being the weakest.

To level up, you must complete a challenge against a summoned monster'

'Level tests are held only on Fridays. 2 days from now. I have nothing to do right now. Or a place, for that matter.'

'I didn't want to do it, but I will negotiate with that cunning merchant to higher up the rate and pay me daily.'

Anas started running to the shop. He didn't expect his speed to be this fast. It's as if he is teleporting.

'That would be useful in combat.'

"Hey, who do you think you are scamming?" Anas said, with a piercing gaze at the man.

"Huh. Who? I didn't scam you, did I? You accepted, and I told you would never find this rate anywhere else"

'Well, he isn't wrong. I won't find a low rate like this anywhere else.'

"Listen. I'm not here to argue. Either pay me 30 Mals daily or forget about it"

"But you accepted the first offer, didn't you?"

"No I didn't, do you have any proof?"

"You win. I don't have the energy to negotiate at this age"

'That has been dealt with. Now I can at least get a room in the inn. '
