*Third POV*
Kim Yuri was eager to take a soothing bath and get in the shower now that she had come back. After dropping off Aerum, she made the nearly twenty-minute drive home. When she arrived at the elevator, she quickly hit the 7th floor button.
IYuri didn't wait for the doors to fully open before entering the desired floor; instead, she unlocked the door with her keys and opened it, only to be met with an odd sound. Grabbing the umbrella that was next to the shoe box, she tiptoed her way down the hall.
Walking as quietly as possible, Yuri could hear a woman giggling and moaning. She moved closer to the sound, hoping to get a better sense of the situation, but came to an immediate halt and stopped within inches of her bedroom.
The door to Yuri's shared bedroom with her boyfriend was surprisingly open slightly making it easier to peep in through the narrow space. She moved closer, inching her face forward to get a better view. Her eyes shot wide open as she saw a figure hovering over a lady with blonde hair.
The man above had a naked back, and the red nails left marks making the pale skin covered in red lines. The man growled back at her quiet moaning in his ear. "More..." the girl gasped, causing Yuri to clench her chest.
"Fuck... Baby, you are so fucking sexy..." Yuri lost control of her emotions after hearing the voice, letting go of the umbrella she was holding, and falling to the ground.
The guy and woman stopped everything they were both presently doing and glanced out the door after hearing the commotion outside. Gazing down at his lover who had collapsed on the floor, the man opened the door wide and ran his hand through his hair.
"Yuri... I..." he said, extending her hand, as Yuri attempted to get back up but stumbled. As soon as Joon Woo moved closer to try to steady her, she forcefully pushed him aside.
"I can explain!" Joon Woo made another attempt. This time, Yuri's eyes were red from the conflicting feelings she was experiencing, the tears that fell from her eyes and the anger that filled them were directly reflected towards Joon Woo's brown ones.
"EXPLAIN!!?" Yuri spoke gritting her teeth.
Her voice trembled with a mixture of heartbreak and anger her eyes locked onto Joon Woo's desperate gaze. The room felt heavy with betrayal, and the silence between them spoke volumes. She took a deep breath, trying to steady herself as she struggled to find the right words.
"Explain?" Yuri repeated, her voice now a whisper laced with hurt. She steadied herself, standing on her own now, her gaze never leaving Joon Woo's face. The room was filled with an uncomfortable tension, broken only by the distant sounds of the city outside.
Joon Woo swallowed hard, his eyes searching for the right words, but guilt hung heavy in the air. "Yuri, it's not what you think. It's just a misunderstanding. Let me explain," he pleaded, reaching out again, but Yuri stepped back, her expression a mix of disbelief and anguish.
"A misunderstanding?" Yuri scoffed, bitterness colouring her words. "I saw what I saw, Joon Woo. Don't insult my intelligence by trying to spin this into something it's not."
Her hands trembled at her sides, and she fought to hold back tears that threatened to spill over. The woman who had been with Joon Woo awkwardly stood in the background, her presence a painful reminder of the intimate scene Yuri had stumbled upon.
"Yuri, please. It's not what you're thinking," Joon Woo pleaded, his frustration evident. He took a step closer, but Yuri held up a hand, a silent plea for him to stay back.
"You've been telling me you're working late, that you're tired. And all this time... all this time, you were..." Yuri's voice cracked, unable to finish the sentence.
Joon Woo's eyes showcased an emotion that became harder for Yuri to read, remorse flickering in them. "Yuri, I messed up. I can't deny that. But, you need to know this. I wanted to tell you long back" he spoke.
Yuri shook her head, a mixture of pain and anger etched on her face. "Tell me long back? You've shattered everything. I trusted you, and you betrayed me," she whispered, her voice carrying the weight of broken promises.
"We can talk about this, let's be civilians!" Joon Woo pulled Yuri harshly making her small figure stumble backwards, her eyes widening in disbelief and shock. The sudden physical contact only fueled the intensity of Yuri's emotions. She glared at Joon Woo, her features contorted with a mixture of rage and hurt.
"Civilians? You want to be civilians now?" Yuri retorted, a bitter laugh escaping her lips. "Joon Woo, you've turned our relationship into a battlefield. Don't touch me."
The woman who had been a participant in this betrayal stood in the periphery, awkward and unsure of how to react. Her attempts to interject with words of apology were met with a piercing glare from Yuri.
Joon Woo, realizing the gravity of the situation, took a step back, his hands raised in a defensive gesture. "Yuri, please. Let me explain. This isn't what you think."
Yuri, her eyes still red from the tears she had been holding back, shook her head in disbelief. "Explain? What explanation could justify this, Lee Joon Woo? I saw you, heard you. There's no room for excuses."
Joon Woo, his eyes filled with remorse, struggled to find the right words. "Yuri, I know I've messed up. I never meant to hurt you like this. I wanted to clear everything before itself but, I never had the chance. Please, let me explain everything."
But Yuri, her patience worn thin, shook her head. "Explanations won't erase the images burned into my mind. You've shattered us. We're done."
The room felt suffocating, the weight of the revelation hanging heavily in the air. Yuri's emotions, once tightly held in check, now threatened to spill over. She took a deep breath, attempting to regain some semblance of composure.
"I trusted you, Lee Joon Woo. I believed in us," Yuri's voice wavered, but her gaze remained resolute. "But now, all I see is betrayal. How long has this been going on? How long have you been living this double life?"
"Double life? Listen here, Kim Yuri! You need to calm down, and if you would just-" The clear bam of hand against Joon Woo's cheek was loud.
Without uttering another word, Yuri walked past Joon Woo, leaving him standing in the doorway, grappling with the consequences of his actions. The air was thick with the remnants of their shattered relationship, and as Yuri stepped out into the night, the city lights blurred through the tears that streamed down her face.
Walking in the night sky, as the rain poured heavily, Yuri could barely think straight. The rhythmic pattern of raindrops on her umbrella echoed the tumultuous beats of her heart. Each step felt heavier than the last, burdened by the weight of betrayal and heartbreak.
The city, usually alive with vibrant energy, seemed to take on a different hue in Yuri's eyes. The neon lights that adorned the buildings now cast long, distorted reflections on the wet pavement. The once-familiar streets felt foreign, mirroring the unfamiliar territory her life had plunged into.
With no particular destination in mind, Yuri meandered through the rain-soaked alleys and boulevards. The cold droplets mixed with her tears, creating a bittersweet symphony that accompanied her solitude. The world around her continued to move, but Yuri was in a suspended state, caught between the echoes of a shattered past and the uncertainty of what lay ahead.
"Will you be mine?..."
"You belong to me alone..."
"You are such a sweet woman!"
"I can never get enough of you, sweetheart"
"We are meant to be..."
The words echoed in Yuri's mind making her restless. Her heart raced at an unknowing pace as she walked down the roads mindlessly.
As Yuri approached a busy intersection, the echo of her footsteps was drowned out by the distant hum of traffic. The rain-slicked streets shimmered beneath the intermittent glow of traffic lights. Oblivious to the impending change, Yuri's thoughts were consumed by the residue of her broken relationship.
Lost in contemplation, Yuri stepped onto the crosswalk, her gaze fixated on the wet pavement beneath her feet. The honking of car horns and the distant rumble of engines seemed to blend into the background, a chaotic symphony that failed to reach the depths of her preoccupied mind.
As she neared the centre of the intersection, a sudden screech of tires sliced through the night. Yuri's head snapped up, her eyes widening with realization. In that split second, time seemed to slow, the world around her turning into a surreal tableau.
A car, its headlights gleaming through the rain, careened towards her, the driver desperately attempting to swerve and avoid a collision. The screech of tires echoed through the intersection as the car careened toward Yuri, who lost in her thoughts, failed to register the impending danger.
A cacophony of horns blared, and pedestrians screamed as the realization of the impending collision unfolded. The driver, finally comprehending the situation, slammed on the brakes, but it was too late. The car collided with Yuri, the impact sending her sprawling across the wet pavement.
Time seemed to stretch, the world turning into a chaotic blur of sound and movement. The driver stumbled out of the car, panic etched across their face, as concerned onlookers rushed to Yuri's side. The air was filled with a sense of urgency and distress.
Yuri lay motionless, the pain searing through her body. The rain, now a distant memory, mingled with the droplets of blood that marked the impact. Sirens wailed in the distance as the city, oblivious to the individual tragedies that unfolded within its confines, continued its relentless rhythm.
"This is how it all ends?" Yuri's mind wandered to all the beautiful memories she had with the guy who was the sole reason for her doom.
An ambulance arrived, its flashing lights casting an eerie glow on the scene. Paramedics hurried to Yuri's side, their trained hands assessing the extent of her injuries. Concerned whispers floated through the air as Yuri, conscious but dazed, tried to make sense of the chaos around her.
The gravity of the situation became apparent as the paramedics carefully immobilized Yuri, preparing her for transportation to the hospital. The driver, now surrounded by law enforcement officers, recounted the events that led to the unfortunate accident.
Yuri, caught in the crossfire of unforeseen circumstances, was loaded into the ambulance. The doors closed with a definitive thud, the vehicle pulling away from the intersection, leaving behind a hushed aftermath.
The city, unfazed by the individual tragedies that punctuated its existence, continued to pulse with life. Yet, within the confines of the ambulance, Yuri's world had momentarily halted. The pain, both physical and emotional, mingled with the distant wail of sirens as she embarked on an uncertain journey to the hospital.
The night air, now heavy with the weight of unforeseen events, bore witness to the fragility of life. As Yuri's ambulance navigated through the city, the rain began to fall once again, a solemn symphony that accompanied her journey into the unknown.
