The first day waiting for the wedding, Ji Yunhe spent it busily working at the second gate. By the time they finished laying down the foundation for the boundary, it was already evening.
She was very tired but she did not even think about resting. Instead, she went back to the city. Ji Yunhe first grabbed the materials for the wedding robes that Qu Xiaoxing had prepared, then headed non-stop to the Demon Terrace to find Changyi.
She knew her tailoring skills were not very impressive, so she wanted to discuss with him over settling on some simple styles.
However, Changyi was not there. She asked a servant, but he only knew Changyi was busy with official business during the day, and did not know where he was right now. Ji Yunhe returned to his room and sat at his desk. She was going to work on the wedding robes while waiting for him when she saw some scraps of paper that looked like invitations.
Ji Yunhe blinked her eyes at the paper. This big-tailed fish… had he made the invitations himself, and went to deliver them? She was right. Changyi really did deliver the wedding invitations. The monk and Luo Jinsang and such were easy, he just gave all of their invitations to Kongming and asked him to pass them out. But the snake demon and Lu Jinyan from Ji Yunhe's list were a bit more troublesome, Changyi would have to go and deliver them in person. He first knocked on the snake demon's door.
This house could be considered one of the better ones in the city, there was even a young watchman in the courtyard. The boy opened the door and froze when he saw the silver hair, black robe and a pair of trademark blue eyes. He opened his mouth but was not able to say anything.
"Who is it?" The snake demon carried a jug of wine and drunkenly swayed his hips to the door.
Changyi looked at him. The wine jug fell to the ground and spilled everywhere while the snake demon looked at the visitor in shock. Changyi calmly handed him a red invitation.
"In two days, inside the Demon Terrace main hall, Ji Yunhe and I will be holding a wedding. I came to deliver you an invitation. "
"Invitation?" The boy watchman looked at the snake demon, then at Changyi, then at the snake demon again.
"Master, you're… that important?" The snake demon also stuttered, "A… a wedding?"
"A wedding," Changyi said.
"The time is on the invitation, goodbye." He turned to leave, but then paused his steps and looked back. This time his eyes were less friendly.
"I remember issuing a ban on alcohol a few days ago. Remember to report to the Demon Terrace and explain where you got this wine and how much more there is. Submit yourself to an appropriate punishment." The snake demon gulped as he watched Changyi leave.
One minute he was giving an invitation, the next minute he ordered someone to surrender himself... It was so jiaoren. Changyi arrived at the arsenal.
Because Lu Jinyan now worked in the armory, responsible for keeping track of incoming weapons and quality assurance. He had been very busy the past few days, and was counting through the racks when he suddenly heard the sound of swords falling to the ground outside.
Lu Jinyan immediately grew irritated and poked his head out screaming, "God damn it, be more careful! How many jobs can you guys create out of just one..." Then he froze, and the record book in his hand also fell to the ground.
"Your Highness..." Lu Jinyan's voice softened down.
"I... I have not gotten into any fights lately, I've been too busy. And I haven't seen that snake demon in a long time…"
A red invitation was held out in front of his face. Lu Jinyan stopped talking.
"Wedding invitation. Yunhe and I will be getting married in two days. She wishes for you to be there." Lu Jinyan's jaw dropped.
"Me? Me?" He looked around then asked again in disbelief, "Me?"
"Yes, you." Changyi pushed the invitation forward some more, and Lu Jinyan took it with shaking hands.
