Chapter 17: Over His Human Mate

"What about the human, your highness? What is your plan?" Onix asked Rebel.

"I suggest that she should be placed in another house. Since she is human, there is no room for her here," Scar replied.

"She is the real mate of his highness. How dare you take her away just because she is human?" Cena asked between her clenched jaw.

"And why not? There is no place for humans here. She will endanger us," Onix replied to Cena.

I saw Rebel's facial muscle twitches.

"Cena, this is the Elders' decision, and the King didn't oppose it. We understand your concern since she's your daughter and not like you. She doesn't have any wolf blood on her. We must think about what is good for our kingdom. After all, she's just your adopted daughter," Scar replied calmly.

The other elders agreed with him.

"Then the transfer of the human mate is decided. Any objections?" Vladimir, the head elder, looked at everyone.

Cena also stopped objecting. I bet she felt defeated. Of course, that's her daughter. Even if you're not the birth mother, you will still feel hurt as long as you raise the baby.

I saw Ceona glaring at me. If only eyes could kill, I would probably be dead earlier. But I'm sorry for her as I have a pack to take care of.

"Do you have anything to say, Ceona?" Onix asked again.

"None at all, Elder," she replied in resignation.

"Alright. Then this meeting is adjourned. The moving of the human will take effect now," he said before the meeting ended.

Rebel shamelessly held my hands as we were about to exit the room.

"Don't you feel a little remorse about your mate?" I asked him.

"Not at all," he replied to me. "I already rejected her, but Ceona insists that having a mate is good for me. I couldn't say no to her, plus I respect her, so I took her daughter in," he replied.

"You're a king; no one should command you," I said to him. "Anyways, I have to go home," I told him.

"Do you like me to escort you home?" he asked.

"No need. I can protect myself," I replied to him.

"You're a woman. Who knows if something might happen along your way?"

"I said I can defend myself," I replied disgustedly to him. "Is that today's work? You see, I have a lot of work to do back at my pack," I uttered.

I wouldn't say I like it when someone sees me as a weak woman when it's more precise than the sun's rays that I'm stronger than anyone else.

"Alright, you can go. But, Raven, the show's everyone that you respect me and submit yourself to me; otherwise, they will suspect you as my pretending pair," he said while crossing his arms in front of me.

I raised an eyebrow at what he said.

"Make me," I replied to him.

He chuckled when he heard my answer; obviously, he was amused while I felt like I wanted to kick his balls until they became dysfunctional.

"Are you sure about that?"

"Yeah, I said, make me," I said, challenging him, turning around, and walking away. I paused for a moment and turned to him. "If you can," I replied, smiling at him.

I closed the door and steadily stepped away from there.

As I was making my way out of the hall, I was about to reach the big door when Candis ran towards me, and she slapped me on my face. I was shocked.

"He's mine! You know that! Why did you have to come here and take what is supposed to be mine!" she angrily said and was about to slap me again. But I recovered from my shock, and I caught her hand, stopping her from hitting me again.

"Girl, what is your problem?" I calmly asked her. "Was it all because the King chose me over you? Shouldn't you expect it? You're human, after all. And humans aren't allowed to mingle with us." I said while releasing her hand.

"If you didn't appear, I should still be his mate," she began to sob.

"If you were his mate, why didn't he mark you yet? Girl, you know what, you're making yourself a fool in front of me. Instead of confronting me, why aren't you doing that with the King?" I said mockingly.

"You're also a woman. And if you were in the same shoes as me, I know you'll feel hurt."

"You're human, and I'm not. We are different. It would be best if you had thought a lot before you stepped into my world. It isn't about love, mates, or pleasure; we werewolves are always about fate. We are both his mates, and we both want him. But girl, you are human and weak, which made you the loser of the game of fate. Get out of my way before I lose my respect for you," I said before finally walking out of the palace.

"Insolent human!" Claw roared in madness. "How dare she slap us like that! Didn't she know who we are?"

"Calm down, Claw. What can she do with us? She's just a human," I replied to her.

As I dismissed Claw, I stepped on my car's gas and sped up on my way back to the packhouse.

"Hey, cutie, how was it? Did it go well?" Blanch asked me, not even letting me change my clothes. He even followed me to my private room.

"You should shower first before invading my space," I replied to her.

Blanch sniffed herself.

"I can't smell myself," she replied.

"You smelled of sex," I said.

"I'm proud of it," she replied, smiling at me.

"It's making me uncomfortable. It makes me wanna puke. Go take a shower," I shooed her while untying my hair.

"So he made you tie your hair, huh?" she laughed.

"That moron wanted me to show his mark to everyone. And also with his human mate," I replied.

"What? He has a human mate?"

"Yeah! He has, and she just slapped me on the face."

Blanch burst out laughing.

"And you just let it go?"

"I should because she's human. If I break her neck, she'll die, and if I break one of her limbs, it will take years to heal," I replied.

Blanch just laughed instead of answering me.
