Chapter 1: News

I was standing in the ring in my training gear. It was a black sports bra and training shorts. A bullet passed by my ear, but I didn't flinch. I feel the wind vibrate, another one coming towards my shoulder, I cartwheeled to my left and felt another one come to my right shoulder. I dropped to a crouch, two more come at my head and right shoulder. I jumped and did a flip, the bullets flying past me. Right when I land, another one comes at my heart. I do a back bend, followed it into a handstand then flipped.

"3.5 seconds Hailey, your best timing yet." My best friend Daren says.

"2.5 seconds to slow." I mumble, but Lexi, one of the twins, heard it and says.

"Come on, your time is faster than all of ours, even the High Protectors are in awe of you." She says as they go put up their guns.

"I know, but I don't want anything to happen to y'all." I say and click my tongue. Immediately I 'see' a layout of the rest of the gym. Daren is at the gun rack with the twins, Liam and Lexi, Rose is lifting weights and Jason is at the treadmills. I exit the ring and go to Rose. I go to the bench press and start to feel around for a 450 Lb. weight. Rose sees this and asks.

Do you need help."

"Yes, where is the 450 Lb. weights? I ask, still searching.

"On the rack, to your right, three weights up. I go to the rack and click my tongue, when I 'see' the weights, I get them and put them on a bench press with two 400 pound weights. So I'm really lifting 2,500 lbs, which is more than a werewolf, let alone a human can lift. A normal werewolf can lift about 900 to 1,250 pounds. So yeah, all of us Protectors are stronger than the average werewolf. I start to bench press when the intercom comes on.

Hailey, the High Protectors want to see you.

I get off the bench and Rose says. "Good luck."

"Thanks." I say back and go out the door and head to the High Protectors office. I click my tongue every now and then so I can 'see' where I'm going. You might be wondering why I put quotations on 'see', well, I'm blind, I have echolocation and can feel vibrations in the air and the ground. Because I feel the vibrations on the ground, I don't wear shoes or socks, in fact I hate them. When I get to the door, I knock.

"Enter." Says one of the Protectors, I think its Protector Eran. I go in and stand by the door.

"Sit down, Gloria, pull her out a seat." Says Head Protector Cain. I want to growl and say that I don't need someone to pull out a chair, but I remember that it is considered an honor for one of the High Protectors to do something like this for a lower wolf so I keep my mouth shut. Once I sit down, Protector Cain begins talking.

"We received a request from the Red Moon Pack for us to help train them. We want you to make a team and go train them, the jets will be waiting on you. Any questions?" He asks.

"No Sir." I say.

"Good, now go pick your team , you'll be leaving when everyone is packed."

"Yes Sir." I get up and go out the door, I then mind-link Daren, the twins, and Rose.

H: Go pack up, we are going on a mission.

D, Li, Le, & R: Where and why?

H: To the Red Moon Pack because they need help with training.

Le: You know, you might meet your mate. She teases.

H: Nope, not gonna happen.

Le: Can't blame me for trying. She says.

H: Nope. I say and cut off the link. I go to my room and start packing. You might be wondering how I can pack, well, I got a machine that I named Alex and tell it the type, material, and color of the clothes, and it will get it, and another one that will fold and put on the suit case named James. I tell Alex to get me my black leather jacket, six pairs of training clothes and thirteen outfits with offensive sayings on them. I then tell James to fold and put up everything besides the jacket in the suitcase. Once everything is packed, I join my team and head to the jets.

We each get into our separate jet.

Hello Hailey, where will you be going today? My jet, Stella, asks.

"The Red Moon Pack please."

Yes ma'am, please wait and enjoy the ride, we will reach the pack at 11:30 tomorrow morning. Refreshments will be served shortly.

I lay down and take a nap, waiting until we get there.
