"Yozora-san, how are we going to explain their death to the others?" Kohta asked in a careful tone, as he was helping Kemono with putting the food into bags. Kemono simply released an amused snort.
"There is no need to do that… Instead of following my orders, they went off to look for survivors on their own and they never came back. After all, there is no way that anybody could recognize the bodies, especially when one of them was turned into ashes by yours truly and the other was ripped into pieces by the Zombies" Kemono grinned and after a bit of thinking, Kohta started to laugh while rubbing the back of his head sheepishly. Kemono turned Tsukomo's body into ashes after she finished clearing the ground floor.
"You are right. It took me nearly half an hour to find Aoba-san's weapon…" Kohta froze as he realized that Kemono's ploy wasn't going to work if he kept the weapons.
Even Kemono choked after hearing Kohta's words and then she started to glare at the boy. "Toss them away!!" Kemono growled menacingly and Kohta immediately shot up from the ground with the extra weapons clutched in his arms.
"Hai!" Kohta exclaimed with a salute and dashed towards the door. Then all of a sudden he stopped and turned around. "…Um… can I at least keep the ammo?" Kohta asked in a nervous tone. After thinking for a bit, Kemono gave the boy a small nod. Kohta immediately cheered up a joyful grin appeared on his face… Kohta gave a grateful nod before dashing out of the shop with a silly grin on his face.
After Kohta was gone, Kemono could only shake her head. The boy was kind of a gun fanatic and she simply couldn't bring herself to make him throw the ammo when the ammo wasn't going to cause any type of problem for them. Only the weapons could throw a wrench into her plans and that wouldn't do… That wouldn't do at all. Kohta was a good boy and he understood that sometimes sacrifices must be made for the Greater Good of the rest of the group. If nurtured nicely, Kohta was going to go a long way in a world like this.
A small smile slowly formed on Kemono's face… As soon as she arrived in Rika Minami's house, she had been keeping an eye on everyone. It didn't take her long to realize that Kohta and Saeko were born in the wrong era. Both of them were born for combat and a ruined world such as their own was one of the best places for the two of them to grow. Bella belonged in a world like this, the woman was insane, but she was completely devoted to her son. To Bella, her son was a God, or handling someone like Bella would have been completely impossible…
Meanwhile, Kohta was making his way through the ground floor while sulking. Even though he was getting to keep the ammo, he hated the fact that he had to toss a couple of good weapons if they wanted to for the ruse to work… He wasn't angry at Kemono for making him throw away the weapons, he was simply unhappy with the whole situation. Well, sometimes sacrifices needed to be made, that is what Kohta thought as he tossed one of the guns. He felt like crying, but he knew that he needed to stay strong.
He decided to toss the other weapon somewhere else, he was pretty sure that even Daichi wasn't going to waste his time by looking for a couple of weapons. Kohta finally made his way towards the entrance of the shopping complex. There were still a few Zombies lurking at the entrance of the shopping complex, but Kohta decided to ignore them. He had already stacked up a lot of Status Points to reach Level 2. So, he didn't want to waste his time and risk Kemono getting angry at him.
Now that Kohta was done, he decided to return. With a neutral look on his face, he started to make his way back towards the shop where they were gathering the food from. While making his way back, Kohta started to wonder why the survivors staying in the shopping complex haven't tried to contact them even when they had made a lot of noise when clearing the ground floor. Both Kemono and Kohta knew for sure that there were survivors inside the shopping complex, but they found it weird that none of them tried to approach them…
~~With Daichi~~
"We brought the bags and we were even able to get some snacks and soda from a nearby store" Anthony said as he placed two bags in front of Daichi. The other members of the group also came forward and placed the bags in front of Daichi. Some of the bags were filled, and some of them were empty.
"Then help yourself. All of you must have worked hard" Daichi told Anthony and his group members to help themselves with some snacks and soda. Anthony and his group were kind of taken aback after hearing Daichi's words. They honestly didn't expect Daichi to let them have some snacks. After a moment, bright smiles appeared on their faces as they helped themselves.
Daichi wasn't someone heartless, since they have worked hard, they deserved a little bit of R&R. "By the way, did you have any problems on the way?" Daichi asked and Anthony shook his head in denial as he opened a chips packet.
"The number of Zombies has decreased by quite a lot, so we didn't have any problems dealing with the Zombies we found lurking near the stores…" Anthony smiled and Daichi nodded his head in understanding. He had noticed it too, the number of Zombies has decreased quite a bit, and Daichi suspected that most of the Zombies were gone because they became a part of the horde they had seen at the bridge.
Tokonosu city wasn't that big so Daichi didn't suspect that there was a second group, but he could be wrong too. Daichi hoped that he wasn't wrong or surviving in the city was going to become even harder. For now, he wanted to stay in this city as this was a good place considering the current climate of the world. Though he still needed to look for a new base as they were already short on space and now he had acquired 7 new members in their group.
Daichi released a sigh and picked up a soda bottle from one of the bags along with a couple of chips packets. "I see… tell your friends to take a break. We have already filled the fire trucks with gas. Do you think you and your friends could handle a fire truck?" Daichi questioned with a thoughtful look on his face.
"…Uh, I don't know. None of us have ever driven a heavy vehicle so I can't say for sure, but if there's power steering, then we might be able to" Anthony answered after thinking for a bit.
"The trucks do have power steering… Fine, take a break and then we will visit the fire station to get the rest of the trucks. I am going to take as much gas as possible" Daichi said and Anthony simply nodded his head before walking away toward his friends.
After that, Daichi made his way toward Bella, who was processing the wolf meat. Daichi didn't know what he would have done without Bella… There was a nifty Spell for almost everything. Daichi was glad that he had a Summoning power and he summoned someone like Bella on the first try. Though there was something Daichi was completely unaware of.
Bella might have agreed to process the meat, but she wasn't exactly using the right Spells. Bella didn't know if there were Spells to process meat and if there were, she didn't know them. Bella was using the Skin-Flaying Curse to remove the skin. Bella was quite familiar with the Spell as she had flayed a lot of people in her world and she had obviously flayed them alive. Why would she flay someone when he or she is already dead? That was simply dumb! But now she was forced to use the Spell on dead creatures, not that she was complaining since she was doing it for her Lord.
Then she was using various types of Organ Expelling Curses to remove the organs. She was quite familiar with those Spells too as a lot of people in her world had lost their organs due to her. After that, she was using the Entrails Melting Curse to melt away the entrails. Bella was also quite liberal with this Curse in her world and finally, she was using the Blood Draining Curse to remove the blood from the wolves. Even though the blood has already dried, the Curse was working just like it was supposed to.
"Have a drink, Bella" Daichi opened the soda bottle and extended it towards Bella. Bella stared at the bottle apprehensively for a couple of seconds before she got up and used some Spell to remove the blood from her hands.
"What is this?" Bella asked in a neutral tone, she looked kind of wary and curious at the same time. She was wary of the bottle because it was a Muggle thing, but at the same time, she was curious too. She could see the bubbles inside the bottle and she found them interesting.
"It is called soda, it is a type of soft drink" Daichi answered with a smile on his face.
"Soft drink? Am I going to feel like I am drinking a pillow?" Bella tilted her head in confusion and Daichi almost choked after hearing her genuine and innocent question…
