Li Jun waited in silence as Master Cao stood by his side. He had a lot on his mind, but the main thing was the last couple of things the Patriarch had said—well, it was more the things he didn't say but implied.
"Xun is a divine beast, isn't he?" Li Jun asked after a while.
Master Cao didn't say anything. He didn't need to. The silence was louder than words.
"What does it mean?" Li Jun asked. "What is a divine beast?"
"Divine beasts are well…" He paused for a moment, composing his thoughts before he continued. "Spirit Beasts are animals that evolve into something more than a beast king, while Divine beasts are beasts that belong to their own species. They never evolved from animals; most animals come from their bloodlines in the first place."
He said a lot but didn't quite give an exact answer, although Li Jun had a hunch.
"Are dragons divine beasts?" He asked suddenly.
Master Cao hesitated for a moment and nodded his head.
