Attack And Defense

After school, Mia went to the Island. The Dragon Leader came. Mia was sitting on a bench beside the lake.

He bowed to her, "Greetings Your Highness."

Mia nodded, "Greetings to you too."

"Your Highness, you called me here. Is there something important you want to talk about?", he asked Mia curiously.

"Mr. Lee, please answer me sincerely". Mia told him.

He nodded.

Mia began to speak, "Liam, does he know about my real identity as the ruler?"

He answered, "No, Your Highness."

"Whose powers did he inherit, I mean mother, father, yours, or any other family member?", Mia asked him.

He was silent. After a while, he replied, "Actually, he hasn't inherited any of our powers. His powers are completely different from ours. In our family for centuries, there was no one with this kind of power. He has a dark aura and none of us have that. Sometimes it feels as if we are controlled by him."

Mia went into deep thought. She stood up and began to speak, "How did you feel that he was controlling you all?"

He was a little hesitant and then spoke, "When he asks us for something, we just can't deny his wish. There are things we don't want to do but still, we unknowingly do them just because he want to. Although I had never discussed this with anyone yet."

Mia looked at him, "I can't risk the lives of many beings. I also felt something wrong with his powers. Now that he is my mate, I should first find about about his powers that may harm others. Mr. Lee, bring him here tomorrow but remember he should not know about my identity. Bring him at the same time as now."

He nodded, "As you wish, Your Highness but in every case, you should first protect yourself. Your life matters a lot for the peace of this world. The peace between humans and us."

He went away. She began to walk beside the lake.

Mia's POV

Mr. Lee went away. I started walking beside the lake. I am stuck in a bad situation. I wish someone could guide me. Why is this all happening to me?

I then did some repairing work on the island.

When the work finished, I went to cook something for myself. After eating and cleaning the dishes, I went to the Arena and began to practice archery.

When I finished archery, I heard the clapping of hands. When I looked around Lin was standing there. I smiled at his sight and somehow felt happy by his presence.

He was smiling and came towards me, "You are a great archer. I am proud to be your disciple, Master."

Both of us laughed. He stared at me, "Did someone annoy Master? Tell me who that person is I will break them into pieces."

I laughed, "Indeed someone did annoy me. First, you should complete your training and then I will tell you who annoyed me."

He began to speak, "You are taking my words lightly. Let me tell you that I am a good fighter."

I raised my brow, "If that's the case then you had to prove it today."

He smiled, "Sure, I will show you my true powers. Then what are we supposed to do today."

I looked at the ground and began to think. He has a great defense. He can't defeat me because no one could easily do that but he could easily dodge almost thirty percent of my power while the others or even the leaders can only face my ten to fifteen percent of power. Now that he had practiced self-defense, the next thing should be his attack powers.

I looked at him, "You had already practiced defense then the next thing is your attack powers. You have to attack me and along with that you have to also dodge my attacks."

He laughed, "Dodging you was alright but how can I attack you? I don't want to harm you in any way."

I sighed, "Don't worry I won't get hurt. Trust me. One more thing I am just an enemy during the practice."

We both transformed. He charged toward me but I dodged him easily. After a few times, he almost hit me. His attacking skills are indeed great. After a while, I stopped him.

"It is enough. You are unexpectedly good at this but now I should increase the level of difficulty."

I transformed back into human form and tied his eyes with a cloth.

"What are you doing? I can't see anything", he said.

I smiled, "I am just increasing the difficulty level. Now you have to attack and dodge my attacks using your sense of hearing and smell."

We continued back the training. It was a bit difficult for him, in the beginning, it was difficult for him to attack or dodge but he was improving slowly."Keep your focus only on the scents and sounds surrounding you. You need to focus", I guided him.

Though it was a bit difficult he was improving. He indeed is a fast learner.

After practice, we went to the lakeside for a while. There was a beautiful view of the fireflies. We sat there for a while. He looked at me and our gazes met each other.

"Mia, you are really beautiful but it's so unlucky that I am not your mate", he sighed. That words made my heart beat faster. It was a really strange feeling.

I turned away my face. "Then what about Mi if you were my mate?", I asked him.

He laughed, "Don't take my words seriously. I felt that you were bothered by something so I just wanted to freshen up your mood."

I looked back at him, "Lin there is something I want you to know."

He looked at me, "It seems something serious. Tell me I am all ears."

I sighed, "Indeed it is a serious matter, especially for you. Starting from tomorrow Liam may also come to the Arena. You both will be training together and also he will fight alongside us."

He was silent. Although he didn't speak anything I saw his hands turning into fists out of anger.

"Why? Why him?", he angrily punched the tree close to him.
