The Billionaire's Sick Wife

A poor girl born with congenital heart disease has not had much hope for the future, but her life takes a sharp turn when a wealthy, handsome man proposes marriage to her following her heart transplant. It was the most surprising thing to happen to her in her 22 years of life. Abigail had never thought that Christopher Sherman, a young, multibillionaire businessman, would approach her and express his desire to marry her. She was ecstatic and accepted his proposal. But little did she know that the 32-year-old handsome guy had a secret reason for wanting to marry her. Abigail stepped into his world with a lot of hope in her heart. But marrying him was not the happy ending. It was just the beginning. Will she be able to keep her heart from breaking? What will happen if she discovers his true motive? ============= "Life was easy before I married you," said Abigail with pain in her eyes. “I was dying, but I was happy.” “What do you mean?” Christopher clasped her arm. “Stop talking nonsense and eat the medicine,” he hissed, placing a tablet in her palm. Under his fiery gaze, Abigail cowered. "Do you find it difficult to meet my demand for a baby? It has been two years, Christopher." He didn’t answer her question. All he did was stare at her, acting mute. “Why do I feel like you don’t care about my feelings?” Abigail asked. “Don’t you love me?” His silence was the clear answer. ============= A special thanks to Aurora, my editor, for her helpful suggestions on how to improve the synopsis. Her love had drawn him to her.

Abigail woke up early and went into the kitchen to cook. She was worried that he would plan to dine with Vivian again since he had canceled on her the day before. She didn't want to give him any chance.

With the help of the maid, she finished cooking quickly.

The clock read 8:00 am, and he was still sleeping.

Christopher, who had gotten ready by 8 a.m. to be at the office by 9 a.m., was still sleeping.

Abigail wondered if he was too tired to wake up after returning late last night. Or was he not feeling well?

She worriedly went to check on him.

Christopher was still in bed, sleeping soundly. He didn't seem to realize it was time to go to work.

Abigail pushed the curtains aside, allowing sunlight in.

"Christopher," she called out.

He only winced and groaned and showed no signs of getting up.

"Are you not going to work?" she asked, taking a step toward the bed.

He made no movement.
