The Billionaire's Sick Wife

A poor girl born with congenital heart disease has not had much hope for the future, but her life takes a sharp turn when a wealthy, handsome man proposes marriage to her following her heart transplant. It was the most surprising thing to happen to her in her 22 years of life. Abigail had never thought that Christopher Sherman, a young, multibillionaire businessman, would approach her and express his desire to marry her. She was ecstatic and accepted his proposal. But little did she know that the 32-year-old handsome guy had a secret reason for wanting to marry her. Abigail stepped into his world with a lot of hope in her heart. But marrying him was not the happy ending. It was just the beginning. Will she be able to keep her heart from breaking? What will happen if she discovers his true motive? ============= "Life was easy before I married you," said Abigail with pain in her eyes. “I was dying, but I was happy.” “What do you mean?” Christopher clasped her arm. “Stop talking nonsense and eat the medicine,” he hissed, placing a tablet in her palm. Under his fiery gaze, Abigail cowered. "Do you find it difficult to meet my demand for a baby? It has been two years, Christopher." He didn’t answer her question. All he did was stare at her, acting mute. “Why do I feel like you don’t care about my feelings?” Abigail asked. “Don’t you love me?” His silence was the clear answer. ============= A special thanks to Aurora, my editor, for her helpful suggestions on how to improve the synopsis. Christopher avoids Abigail.

The morning sunlight streamed through the curtains, casting a gentle glow on the room. Christopher, still caught between the realms of slumber and wakefulness, felt a soft touch on his forehead, coaxing him back to reality.

His eyelids fluttered open, revealing a familiar face hovering above him. Stirring in his place, he sat up straight, attempting to shake off the remnants of sleep that clung to his senses.

"I-I was working late, and I don't know when I fell asleep." He was not sure why he was trying to justify his action. It was as if he subconsciously felt guilty for ignoring her, though he couldn't quite comprehend the reason behind his self-imposed guilt.

Abigail, undeterred by his attempts at explanation, maintained her warm smile, her eyes filled with concern. "You look tired. Go and sleep in the bedroom. There is no need to go to the office. Rest today."

Her words held a gentle plea.
