Chapter 61

Daniel woke up some hours later in a strange room; he was lying on a bed.

The bed was covered with a crisp white down comforter and two satin pillows. Next to the bed, a mahogany nightstand held an alarm clock and a glass of water.

Once he stood up, he felt a sharp pain in his neck, precisely in the area where he was shot.

Once he held his neck, he immediately remembered how he passed out some hours ago after being shot in the neck.

Once these thoughts returned to his mind, he immediately tried to pull out his gun in case of any inconveniences, but he noticed that his gun was no longer in the side pocket of his jacket.

Deep down, he knew that whoever had brought him to the room meant no harm to him; if not, he wouldn't be lying on a bed; instead, he could have been tied up somewhere or kept in a prison cell.
