Feel so disappointed

"Just look at me," he said, and I was so confused about it.

"Don't look at any other guys, but look at me. Only me."

The strength of my heartbeat as I stared at him. He was just looking at me, only me. Directly to my eyes. I was like that for a few more seconds but he suddenly laughed while looking at me, so I frowned while looking at him.

Is he making fun of me? I almost had a heart attack at what he was doing and then he just laughed. I rolled my eyes and pushed him away from me.

"Hey? Is that fun?" he nodded his head as he continued to laugh in front of me, so I was even more pissed off with him.

The following day, Noah went to work while I was left all alone inside the house. I looked around and saw a book to read again. I want to work too, but where? Noah wouldn't let me work. I was all inside the house all day long. Until night came, until I could just fall asleep on the sofa I had just sat on.

I felt someone was carrying me, so I half opened my eyes and saw Noah carrying me now. I could feel that we were on the stairs when he said, "Hold tight and continue sleeping," his voice was calming and I nodded my head and clung tightly to him and closed my eyes again.

He gently put me on bed and before he walked away, he planted a kiss on my forehead, "Good night."

The rising sun cast a rosy hue across the morning sky. Golden fingers of sunlight lit up the scene. The first rays of sunlight lit up our room. I stretched my arms before getting up, but Noah wasn't there anymore. I looked around, but I guess he had gone to work already. A pout was drawn on my face.

I took my phone and called him. "Hello? What is it?"

"I want to work," I said to him, and he seemed surprised as it took him a few more minutes to respond.

"Where?"

"At your company. I want to be your secretary," I uttered, confidently. That's right, Abi. I can do this.

"Are you sure you can do all the work here?" he asked me.

"Yes, I can. Just teach me once, and I can get it already," I said to him, boldly. I am confident that I will do a good job of being his secretary.

"Alright," my eyes lit up when he said that.

"Are you sure?"

"Yes. You can come here now," he said over the phone. I can't stop myself, I scream because of happiness. "Okay. I'm on my way," I said to him, and ended the call. I immediately dressed and arranged myself before I went to his company. I wanted all the staff to see their jaws dropped and they couldn't underestimate me. I can do better than they think and I will prove that to them.

I drove towards the company. I was already out of the company, but I first looked at my face in the rearview mirror and smiled. "I look pretty," I said to myself as I got out of the car. I flipped my hair to achieve a perfect and grand entrance that I will do today. I wear my high heels and a white casual dress and my white high heels.

As I walked, I could hear the sound coming from my heels. I was smiling while walking towards the entrance.

I was at the entrance when I saw the guards outside as they were bowing their heads at me. I immediately resumed walking and immediately walked towards my husband's office. As I walked and made my grand entrance I could see the reactions of his employees. Their eyes were on me and they never let me out of their sight. I was smiling at them as I continued walking to Noah's office.

I got to Noah's office and I immediately went in after I knocked. I was already inside, but when I looked back at his employees, I could still see them looking at me.

"Hi, Noah," I greeted him, who was now busy with his laptop.

When he raised his head and saw me, I could see the shock in his eyes when he saw me wearing what I was wearing. He stopped what he was doing and stared at me for a very long time.

"Hi, Noah. Are you happy to see me?" I asked him. He immediately stood up and approached me.

He then looked at my attire with a frown. Why? He didn't like what I was wearing, right? What if- I stopped at the thought of Noah suddenly speaking.

"You look pretty," he uttered, and my cheeks immediately warmed up. I was stiffened in my stance while looking at him.

"What?"

"You look pretty," he said again to me, and I smiled.

I looked around his office to familiarize things and stuff. "So? When do I start working?" I asked.

"Now."

Noah immediately discussed all the rules and regulations of the company. He was making an exception for me because one of the rules is to work with the boyfriend or wife to avoid conflict, but I was the exception.

When I found out how many rules and things I would do, I swallowed and gasped. It wasn't that I couldn't do it, I was just so surprised that I had so much work as his secretary.

I really admire him. Even though I was his wife, he treated me like his employee, to be fair to others and not be biased. I was smiling while looking at him, but he noticed me.

"Abi! I mean... Mrs. Brown, pay attention," his voice was deep and enough for me to look and pay attention to what he was saying. I never thought that I would work with him. I am really happy right now, looking at him, and thinking about working with him. With my husband.

It was a tiring day for both of us when we went back to the house. I looked at him with a smile, "Are you okay?" I asked him, but he just nodded his head when he looked at me. I kept smiling while looking at him, "So? What do you think?" he asked.

"About what?"

"The work," he said to me.

"It's okay for me," I replied to him.

"Do you think you can do it? You don't have to do it if you can't-"

I smirked, "I can do it, Noah. It's just a simple job for me. So, trust me about it, alright?" he nodded his head and a smile was slowly drawn to his lips when he said that to me.

We were already in bed when the thought of having kids came inside my head. I looked at him, but I could just see his back, and I think he's asleep now. I was about to turn my back on him when he suddenly spoke.

"What is it? Is there something you need to say?" he said, and turned his back on me. When our eyes met, I looked away, but he placed his hands on my chin, causing me to stiffen while looking at him. My eyes widened while looking at him.

"What is it? Tell me," he asked me again, but I was too stunned to speak while my eyes were still on him. I gulped at the same time while staring at him.

"Have you even thought of..."

"Of what?"

"Having kids," I said to him, and it seemed he was surprised.

"Why? Do you want one?" he asked me.

"That's not what I mean, Noah. I was just asking you," I said to him, and he took a deep breath and looked at the ceiling.

"I don't know."

"What?"

"I don't think I am ready to be a father," he said, and I was a bit disappointed with what he said. I thought he was ready for this thing. We've been married for two years now, but... we still have no kids. I think Noah didn't want to have a kid with me? Is he thinking that I am...

"Alright," I uttered, and then turned my back from him and closed my eyes. I took a deep breath while thinking about what he said to me earlier. I thought I could get the answer that I wanted from him, but I was wrong. I didn't get it as it really disappointed me listening to what he said.

I never thought that Noah would answer me like that. I was expecting another answer from him. I want him to tell me that he really wanted to have a kid with me too, just like how I wanted to have one with him.

How can he be so insensitive and don't think about what I would feel? I guess... he never changed.

To be continued...
