"Ehm, I got a call from Aunt Rita," Patrick told his mother during their talk at his mother's residence.
As agreed upon, he and Phina had spent the weekend with the women.
With a scowl, Grams immediately inquired, "Why did she call you?" She sounded irritated.
His mother asked in the same agitated tone, "When did she last call you?"
Phina sat next to her boyfriend and silently listened to their talk. She could tell that whoever had phoned Patrick had yet to be well received by the women.
"Sometimes her children call, and I call to greet her and her uncle a few times. But she called me two days ago to tell me personally about Larry's wedding. And also what the family wants me to do to contribute to the wedding." Patrick responded to their inquiries.
His mother hissed, "That is just like her." Mrs. Betty fumed as she straightened her blouse, "She calls only when she needs money. She doesn't have shame."
