“Don’t believe a word he says! I’m a nice guy.”
“I didn’t say you weren’t a nice guy, but you’re still a lady-killer. Alex, June Fisher, the best receptionist in Miami.”
“Really?” Alex leaned on the counter. “Would you be interested in moving out to L.A? If you’re as good as Ran says, my company could use you.” Alex winked at her, and then grinned at Ran. “Couldn’t it?”
“I like it here in Miami.” But her tone suggested he could try to persuade her otherwise.
“But you’ve got hurricanes!”
“This is true. On the other hand, you’ve got Dodgers.”
Alex’s jaw dropped, and Ran laughed. Clever girl!
And although she was trying to stifle her own laughter, Ran had a feeling Alex had captured another heart. He didn’t have to wonder how his brother did it. Alex took after their father when it came to looks, although he wasn’t the playboy Collin Burke had been in his heyday. “Is there anything I can do for you, Mr. Burke?”
