As Payne sat on the edge of the large aquarium with only her beautiful tail submerged in the waters, she couldn't help but think back on the night she had spent with Lord Vishious.
She wondered if it was still night or morning? She didn't honestly know since she was brought here when it was day or night. Tonight had been the first time that she had left this room and what she could tell was everything seemed dark here.
She was at first, glad and a little thankful that Lord Vishious had to leave again to finish up some work he said that needed his attention. She had hoped that she would be able to brush off and not think about the things that had happened with Lord Vishious. But what troubled her most was the feelings that she felt earlier when she was in the presence of Lord Vishious.
She couldn't help but think about what had transpired earlier that evening .....
Following a delectable feast in the grand dining hall, Payne and Lord Vishious concluded their meal within the opulent confines of his majestic Palace. Recognizing the importance of acquainting her with her new surroundings, Vishious was determined to alleviate any feelings of confinement that Payne may have experienced during her time in that singular room to which she had been restricted.
With a sincere desire to acclimate her to the Palace's vast expanse, Vishious thoughtfully proposed a tour of the premises. He believed that by introducing her to the manifold rooms and corridors, Payne would become better acquainted with the splendor and grandeur that his abode held.
'" I really don't think it would be good for you to be seen with me Lord Vishious. I should probably go to my proper place now and return to my tank." Payne dared not to look up and meet that strong gaze that she felt Vishious had on her as she said those words.
Vishious didn't expect to hear Payne say those words to him and it had completely caught him off guard.
Only Vishious' elite soldiers were in on the plan that was made concerning Payne and who even knew about her being held in the Palace. Other then those very few who Vishious always kept near him, he never told anyone of the things that he was doing or was going to do.
He did as he pleased and the Demons that he ruled, worshipped and served him fully.
No one would dare come up to him and ask him anything, that thought would never even enter into their heads to even want to ask him. He knew that without any doubt about it.
' I'm honestly impressed that she would even mention that to me, but than again she doesn't know any better either. She was probably never taught to watch what she says when it comes to certain people. hmm well she still won't ever have to learn to hold her tongue because no one would dare open their mouths to object anything that she should ever say. But she must learn how to behave when it comes to me. And only me!'
Vishious was thinking to himself and as if suddenly realizing that his silence might be taken wrong by Payne, he said, " And why wouldn't I want to be seen with such a beauty as you?" He asked her, a mischievous smile coming to his lips. He couldn't help but want to see what she would say to him.
"Well I'm sure you are not really interested in spending that kind of time with me, seeing how you've kidnapped me and took me from Sinyster, from my home. I'm still left in the dark as to why you've brought me here and what it is you want from me. I figure it has to do something with Sinister, am I just a pawn in all this because you couldn't get to her? Is this what my life's going to be now? Me left to be in a aquarium for your amusement? Locked inside a room, unable to leave it?why did you want to waste your time having dinner with me?," Payne answered. She still didn't bring her eyes to meet his as she spoke.
She was trying hard to keep her stand and not let her emotions show on her face. Not to mention Payne found herself starting to feel something that she had never felt before now.
"I don't need you to entertain me and please don't think that spending time with me is going to win you any information from me. I'm not sure what's going to happen to me or if I'm going to live or die in this plan of yours, but I'll never betray Synister." Payne chuckled lightly as she finished saying this. "You obviously made a mistake and kidnapped someone who isn't going to be of much use to you. I don't know why Sinyster hasn't come for me yet but I know she will come for me. Plus if you think keeping me here and isolating me from the world is going to make me vulnerable and defeated, then I'm afraid you're in for a disappointing hostage."
Payne slowly moved her gaze up to look at Vishious, wanting to see his reaction to her words that she just said to him.
Vishious had started to make his way towards her, trying to figure out the best way he should go about this, but hearing how she felt and how she sounded as if she hated him, made him stop in his tracks.
His eyes now held a tinge that even the darkness that surrounded this place couldn't compete with it. The darkness that lingered within his dark hypnotizing eyes looked as if ready to engulf Payne now.
"My Lord...," Payne started to say, but the rest of her words got stuck in her throat. Vishious suddenly appeared right in front of her, suddenly being so close that she now had to look up at him and take a step back.
As he looked down at her, his dangerous gaze made her swallow her next words.
'Why is he looking at me like that.... As if he suddenly wants to kill me?' Payne was frantically thinking. She no longer was feeling brave and regretted saying what she did.
A furious storm was brewing in those dark, beautiful black eyes. His eyes held that powerful look in them that would strike fear into the hearts of those when they were confronted and looked at with such an intense gaze. They were menacing and unsettling.
And what made it worse right now, was that those eyes were focused solely on her and she wasn't sure what was going through Vishious' mind right now or what he intended to do with her.
Being held under that murderous, intense gaze; made fear start to course through Payne's whole body. It brought out her most primal instinct, to run. Run away and hide.
But when she started to take a few steps back and make a little distance between them, fury in those black eyes, instantly blazed.
" M-my Lord, I didn't... I-i'm sorry..I-I didn't mean.." She was trying desperately to think of how she could fix the situation that she caused by blurting out her thoughts that she never should've vocalized to begin with. "My Lord, P-please calm down and let me explain..." Payne softly gulped and clenched her hands together.
