TO THE LANDS OF ALL...
"You are very sure to think I will marry your son?"
"Yes...Im, Princess. If you want to help protect your land from the enemies that would bring the night with them, you need our army and an alliance is what will seal the future of the land of Saunders."
The Queen voiced out, taking a step forward toward the Vampire Princess.
"Are you threatening me? "
Ambrosia could not help but question it. She had just returned from her mother's chamber listening to the same words.
Her mother, the Queen of the Great land of Saunders had gone crazy thinking about ways to avoid the war, and when finding out that the nights nearing the land could not be stopped, neither could the shortening of the days, she had started thinking of ways to win the incoming war.
She was not going to face defeat. She was going to retain her throne. Most importantly, she was not going to let those traitors taint her kingdom, who had been the reason why her husband had died such an untimely death.
But what Ambrosia did not understand was what was the end of the deal that the people of Mortals were getting.
Why this Queen was standing so proudly bringing in her army in the aid of her people to fight a battle that had no connection with her people?
The land of Mortals was not going to gain or lose anything from this battle. Only if for one thing and that was that if the enemies were defeated then the nights would not come to blanket the entire world again.
And to be thinking that it was the sole reason why they would be coming forward to hand in their biggest army, then what were the other Monarchs doing? Did they not care about the growing nights than the Mortals?
Or it could be that the thought of having an immortal heir made the King and Queen of Mortal greedy about the entire ordeal.
It was not like the fight and quarrel subsided between the different species alone, but that there were endless battles within the mortals themselves.
The middle Earth, all belonged to the humans and the Kings of each kingdom were always fighting for more land and more power.
Beyond the middle Earth, to the north, the Fore Lands, it was forbidden for humans so they had to draw a border around themselves covering the edges of the Fore Lands, to the South, the beginning of the Moribund Lands, where the devils and the soulless resided.
The Land of Saunders came in between Middle Earth and the Moribund Land. The Mirror forest to the south of the land of Saunders and the Mountains of Souls, the huge mighty mountain range, standing like a gateway to the Moribund Lands.
If the nights come, then it would cover all these lands. Even though there was no light beyond the Mountains of Soul, and the Moribund Lands always remained dark, with the days gone, it would only become more darker.
"You should be but not by me, Princess. The shortening of the days, and the growing closer nights...you should and must feel threatened by that."
The Queen replied to the question that the Princess threw upon her.
Was the Mortal Queen trying to instill fear in her?
She was not afraid. She was ready to fight. Even without an army, if it would need, Ambrosia was ready to stand in the front and run with her sword, raised up to slaughter the enemies that caused the bloody War before and yet returned with it again. Seek revenge for her father's muder.
"Have you ever fought in a war, Queen?"
Ambrosia implored. Delilah waited for a moment from answering right away but declined it, witha no.
"Then what must you know about it?
Ever since the death of my father, with the accession of my mother as the Queen to the throne, I have slaugtered countless beasts from the Mirror forests that comes to feast upon our people, living in the outskirts.
I have lead an army of only a few or sometimes all by myself, alone to defend those untamed creatures coming out from beyond the Mountain of Souls or from the holes of the Moribund Lands.
And you are talking about war to me?"
Princess throtoled a laughter. The Queen knew about it. It was why the humans had decided to come in peace in the end with these immortal species because they had the strength abd the power to stop these beasts and creatures, kill them and avoid their intrusion into the Middle Earth.
"Yet it is not like anything when you are in a war, my sweet Princess..."
Delilah let out, shaking her head. Of course, it took a lot of courage and bravery to kill those humkngous, dangerous, hienous beasts and the Princess was no less than a warrior who fought in thr war, in the name of saving their countrymen and women.
"You talk as if you have been in a war?"
Ambrosia interviewed. Mortal women were not allowed to fight unlike the females in other species, those women led a very restricted life, dominated by their men.
"I wish we could talk more about it...connect as a daughter in law and a mother in law should, unlike mine...yet I m not here to do that but talk with you about my son..."
The Queen elaborated. And Ambrosia remained static on her spot, listening to the Queen.
