Blades of Ironclaw (Part 3)

Taking advantage of the chaos that had occurred, Eran saw that there were coiled ropes that had been tied between the fort. Without thinking, Eran threw the three ropes out of the fort.

Theo, who had been monitoring Eran's movements attentively, understood the signal. He quickly ordered his group to climb the ropes thrown by Eran, utilizing the gap created by the Lonewolf's stealthy infiltration.

While throwing the ropes, the three remaining archers noticed his presence.

"Intruder!!!" one of the archers shouted, without realizing Eran was already in front of him and stabbed two daggers into his chest and then pulled the small weapon upwards, causing blood to spurt out and splash onto Eran.

"You guys keep shooting." Said one of the archers, he threw his bow and replaced it with a sword, then two other people appeared behind the soldier.

"You damn Golden!" Shouted one of the attacking soldiers. His sword flew and at the same time two arrows pierced the soldier's body in front of him, Eran deflected all attacks using the soldier's body that was still attached to his daggers.

"Bastard…you used our friend's body as a shield. Let him go!" The soldier with the sword shouted angrily.

"As you wish." Eran threw the corpse abruptly at the sword soldier.

The old man's focus was distracted and Eran moved, he rolled forward past the soldier and toward the two archers behind him. Getting up quickly, he attacked the two archers and directly aimed his stab at their stomachs. The two archers were in pain, but before they felt the peak of the pain, Eran slashed both of their necks.

His attack was not finished, without pause, the Lonewolf turned and stabbed the neck of the soldier with the sword.

The other archers glimpsed the battle situation in between their attacks, looking furious as they realized Eran was a threat, some archers abandoned their ranged weapons and drew their swords, ready to engage Eran in close combat. A fierce battle ensued as Eran skillfully moved nimbly with his double daggers, parrying and countering the soldiers' attacks with calculated precision. It seemed to move on its own until Eran didn't realize he had finished off the archer troops in the left area of the fort.

That moment seemed to take place at lightning speed. Eran attacked with deadly speed and accuracy, leaving no room for his enemy to move or even breathe freely. Bodies fell to the ground quickly, blood spraying across the floor of the fort, creating a horrifying scene. His face now almost looked the same as his eyes, blood splatters covering his face.

Eran's focus shifted decisively towards the two individuals who had been entrusted with the responsibility of pouring molten iron into the heart of the fortification. Without squandering even a moment, Eran orchestrated a surprise assault upon them, utilizing the element of his unexpected presence to catch them off guard. The suddenness of Eran's appearance prompted one of them to erupt in a startled cry, thereby causing a temporary pause among the archer troops stationed to the right of the fort, who were compelled to divert their attention. However, their response came too late, as Eran swiftly launched an assault on the unprepared guards. Despite their valiant attempts to mount a defense, they were ultimately overwhelmed by Eran's relentless and superior display of combat prowess and agility.

Amidst the ensuing chaos, the skirmish raged on, with Eran continuing to play an instrumental role in disarraying the enemy's defensive line. His actions served as a pivotal catalyst, creating a critical opportunity for Theo and his comrades to advance and secure control of the fort. The fortunes of the battle shifted dramatically when Eran executed a strategically decisive move, which effectively turned the tide of the conflict in their favor.

Taran and his resolute troops labored tirelessly to dismantle the formidable gate. As the iron liquid gradually dissipated, granting them newfound freedom of movement, they disbanded their turtle formation. The soldiers, aside from those tasked with carrying the battering ram, shifted their focus to aiding in the gate's obliteration. Their tactics ranged from piercing strikes to forceful kicks and body-slams, all of which they executed with unwavering determination. Finally, their efforts were disrupted by a sudden, deafening noise.

KRAKK!!!

"We've done it, just a bit more, you rascals!" Taran exclaimed with exhilaration. The long-awaited moment had arrived. With a vigorous push, the two gates swung open violently, crashing against the walls with an earsplitting clamor.

"The gate is breached! Abandon the battering ram and arm yourselves with swords!" Taran ordered.

Nonetheless, their challenges were far from over; a daunting spectacle lay before them. The IronClaw troops had meticulously sealed off every possible avenue deeper into the city, constructing an imposing wall-like barrier in anticipation of employing a phalanx formation. This time, however, there was a distinctive alteration in their formation. It appeared lower, and within the gaps of their shields protruded elongated spears, creating a dense and menacing front line.

Despite the ominous sight, their faces bore expressions of jubilation. Taran advanced a single step, brandishing both shield and sword.

"For the Sirens!!!" Taran bellowed passionately, rallying his troops forward, resulting in an echoing cacophony of footfalls throughout the small town.

As the two formidable forces clashed, a cacophony of chaos erupted, characterized by a tumultuous collision of sheer strength and unyielding willpower. Spears thrust viciously, swords swung with deadly intent, and shields clashed in a frenzied and disordered spectacle of warfare, resulting in a profoundly messy and tumultuous scene.

Amidst this tumultuous maelstrom, numerous Taran troops fell victim to the relentless onslaught of spear thrusts, their bodies mercilessly pierced, and blood flowing freely. Nevertheless, Taran's secondary line surged forward with unwavering determination, eagerly stepping into the void left by the fallen comrades. They threw themselves into the fray, vigorously pushing against the frontline of the Taran forces, exerting every ounce of their might to encircle the formidable Ironclaw phalanx formation.

Within the densely packed ranks, there was scarcely any room to maneuver. The soldiers found themselves pressed tightly against one another, their bodies interlocked, making even the passage of a mere gust of air an arduous task. The relentless pressure created an atmosphere that felt suffocating, exacerbating the already palpable tension between the two opposing armies. A handful of Taran troops attempted to mount an attack from above, resorting to scaling over their fellow soldiers, yet by the time they drew near, they found themselves impaled upon the menacing spears of their adversaries.

In spite of their valiant efforts, the vanguard units found themselves utterly pinned down, with some gasping for breath, causing their resistance to wane, and ultimately, they were forced to yield some ground. Their attempts to breach the unyielding phalanx formation of the Ironclaw warriors, as impenetrable as a solid wall, were met with frustration. The tension they experienced weighed upon them every passing second, both physically and mentally.

However, the battle was far from its conclusion; even though they had been temporarily pushed back, these warriors continued to engage with an unwavering determination that burned within them. The outcome of this intense battle remained cloaked in uncertainty, as both sides remained locked in a desperate and grueling struggle for a glimmer of opportunity, immobilized in their relentless pursuit of victory.

After having successfully scaled the towering wall, Theo found himself standing at its summit, a vantage point that afforded him an awe-inspiring panorama of the sprawling cityscape below. The sight that unfolded beneath him left him profoundly taken aback, as it was an overwhelming and suffocating tableau of chaos and mayhem. The mere act of conjuring this nightmarish vision sent shivers down his spine, leaving him momentarily breathless.

Theo promptly issued a series of decisive commands to his loyal troops. Without hesitation, they heeded his directives, swiftly maneuvering themselves to the left flank of the imposing fortification, where they readied themselves for a meticulously planned and executed surprise assault against Ironclaw army.

In a breathtaking display of agility and courage, Theo's soldiers executed a daring descent upon the rearmost echelons of the Ironclaw forces, exploiting their adversary's momentary lapse of attention. Pandemonium ensued as Theo's valiant warriors locked in fierce, close-quarters combat, rapidly overwhelming and subduing their bewildered foes. The Ironclaw troops, caught in a nightmarish pincer between Theo's forces at their front and rear, found their once-imposing formation crumbling and disintegrating with each passing moment.

Theo's gaze was drawn inexorably toward the enigmatic figure of Eran, who had proven to be an embodiment of shadowy grace and lethal agility throughout the course of the harrowing battle. As if in a trance, Theo remained fixated upon Eran, a silent admiration and fascination coursing through him, rendering him momentarily speechless.

Eran, ever perceptive to Theo's presence, turned his attention to the golden-haired commander, offering an inscrutable signal that conveyed a profound understanding of the situation at hand and a silent promise to handle it with utmost skill and finesse. A nod and a reassuring smile from Theo signaled his unwavering trust in Eran's capabilities, cementing their unspoken pact.

"There is no cause for concern," Theo reassured himself, before pivoting to rejoin his dedicated soldiers in the heart of the tumultuous battlefield.

Still perched atop the imposing fortification, Theo redirected his focus toward the task of locating Taran.

Witnessing Taran amidst the tumultuous battlefield, Theo urgently called out to him and, with a decisive gesture, indicated the direction leading to the imposing castle. Taran, fully comprehending Theo's message, embarked on the formidable task of carving a path through the already disordered throng of combatants. Theo, springing down from the towering wall and skillfully navigating through the chaotic skirmishes, aligning himself with Taran as they embarked on their arduous journey toward the castle.

Together, Theo and Taran fought their way through the Ironclaw army, their combined strength a beacon of determination and courage amidst the chaos. As they pushed forward, their eyes firmly fixed on their goal, the fate of the battle hung in the balance. The courage and coordination of these two leaders will play a crucial role in determining the outcome of the conflict.
