"I've got you, pretty boy!" the succubus said.
"Are you sure?" Ru asked.
"Absolutely," the succubus said, stroking her long red hair with her hand and twirling her body flirtatiously. "Now I'm going to rip your heart out."
Ru let out a long, high whistle.
"What? What is it?" the succubus asked.
Ru repeated whistling.
"You have no magic, don't bother, bad boy," the succubus said.
Ru ordered: "Duck!"
"What are you talking about?" the succubus asked.
That was her reaction just before crashed into the gargoyle, who was under the spell of the magical melody. A long scream followed.
"AAAAAAAA!"
"Did it hurt, honeybee?" Ru asked with a grin.
Capturing the moment on his phone and sharing this victory with his followers on social media was his biggest wish. When there were no devils or the like on the screen, he contented himself with posing. He got a few likes.
"Yes, I'm that handsome."
The person named 'ladyofblue' left a comment: "Kawaii!"
He wanted to reply to the first comment. But the realization that his moments were numbered did not allow this.
As he heard the succubus' shrill scream fade into the distance, Ru ran and jumped onto the adjacent roof. He banged his shoulder against the door of the balcony, but it wouldn't open.
"Crap," Ru shouted.
Down below, at the door of the lower floor of the next building, he noticed a broken chair and a window. The depth was about seven meters. Without a second thought, Ru let himself fall.
After three to five seconds of sore knees, grazed elbows, and writhing, he picked up the chair, smashed the frosted glass of the window, and dove in.
The room seemed empty, but then he heard a sharp sound like a finger-snapping, "Crack!" followed by the simultaneous illumination of all the candles. There she was—the succubus.
"Oh fuck," Ru yelled.
"Where have you been, darling? I've been waiting for you." said the succubus, flirtatiously.
"You again," Ru said.
"Of course, I," said the succubus and pointed to her broken horn. "You'll pay, and you'll pay dearly, bad boy!"
"Make that gargoyle pay, I didn't do anything," Ru said as he saw two hellhounds emerge from the shadows cast by the candles.
The succubus pointed at Ru and ordered: "Get him!"
Ru greeted the hellhound with a pillow as it leaped at him. The second one jumped onto the sofa as he came. As he hung from the chandelier, the succubus opened her arms to him.
"Come on! Come on, my boy! There'll be no escape for you anyway."
Ru had imagined that the old ceiling would collapse completely when he pulled the chandelier down with all his weight, but that didn't happen. Perhaps it was best to land in the succubus' lap. And so he did.
He dropped with all his weight. Unbalanced, but falling exactly as he wanted to, he knocked the succubus down with himself. He kicked the succubus in the face and got to his feet.
He slipped over the railing of the wooden staircase. Just as he reached the door, a fireball exploded behind him.
The explosion sent things flying in all directions, creating a chaotic scene in which Ru found himself rolling on the ground. Despite his injuries, he was able to stand up partially. The broken door was close by.
If the succubus hadn't knocked him down, he would flee without looking back.
The succubus said as she pressed down on Ru's head with her hoof and sealed his face to the ground, "I told you, you're not going anywhere."
Ru was busy scanning the area with his eyes as he spoke to keep the succubus busy. "Why don't you and I have some fun?"
"Having fun, you say?" the succubus asked.
"Music, dancing, food, and maybe some intimacy," Ru said as he continued to search for the next escape plan.
"Ha-ha-ha, don't make me laugh. Are you trying to hit on me, silly?" the succubus said, pressing Ru's head to the ground with her hoof.
Ru tried hard not to collapse. "You're young, I'm young, and we're both young, come to think of it, why not?"
"I'll rip your spine out," the succubus said.
"Always violence, always hate, don't you have anything else on your mind, girl?" Ru said with a condescending tone.
"I'm a demon and you're an idiot," the succubus said shrilly.
"Okay. What are we trying to get at here?" said Ru, trying to remain calm.
"My purpose is to send you to hell, asshole!" the succubus snarled.
Ru asked, "Why is that?"
"Let's think. Is it because you keep reincarnating with your clones to avoid your eternal punishment? Or maybe it's because you're ignoring the rules of the world you're stuck in? Oh, and we can't forget about the human infants you mutated by seeding," the succubus said, her tone accusatory.
"And who's talking about rules, in quotes, succubus," Ru said with sarcastically. While he was trying to distract the succubus, he picked up a piece of broken glass from the ground.
The succubus said angrily, "Life itself commissioned me to fold up a piece of shit like you and post you in hell."
"Oh, what a divine mission!" Ru said, trying to hide the piece of glass in his hand. "Do you think you're a sexy orc paladin?"
"What's so divine about it? Also, you're the orc," the succubus replied.
"You are a demon with a passion for life. The world is grateful to you," Ru said, waiting for the right moment to make his move.
"Are those your dying words, asshole?" said the succubus, hell-bent on killing Ru as soon as possible.
Ru said, "I have a couple more things to add. For example, la la," and he began to sing.
"Oh, sure, come on, sing your last song," the succubus said, and with the comfort of winning already, she remained indifferent to Ru's murmurs.
"Whispers carried on the wind's chill sigh,
A shadow realm where loyal spirits lie."
"Oh, too bad, it doesn't seem to work at all," the succubus said, lifting her hoof from Ru's head.
Ru continued singing, his voice echoing in the dimly lit surroundings,
"Come, dark companion, hear my mournful plea,
Bound by melody, be one with me."
Suddenly, Ru's eyes began to glow with an eerie intensity.
One of the hellhounds was charmed by Ru's song and attacked the succubus. The succubus used her claws to create a wave of flame and push the hellhound that had leaped at her away.
Taking the opportunity, Ru had already stood up and moved behind the succubus.
"Surprise, bitch!" Ru shouted, her voice echoing through the ruins. He always wanted to say this sentence.
Immediately, he without waiting for any response cut her carotid artery with a piece of glass.
While one hellhound was preoccupied with a rather gruesome feast, the other turned its attention to Ru.
He flashed a grin and said, "Cheese!" as he snapped a quick photo.
The sudden flash of light stopped the hellhound for a moment. Seizing the opportunity, Ru turned tail and sprinted, the camera still clutched in his hand.
"Nihahaha!"
He sprinted through the labyrinth of alleys, his heart pounding a frantic rhythm. The shadows offered fleeting sanctuary, but the relentless pursuit of the demons kept him on edge. Finally, bursting from the cluttered chaos of a junkyard, he spotted a glimmer of hope: a battered motorcycle and a discarded crowbar.
The roar of the engine echoed through the desolate alleyways as Ru twisted the throttle. The machine vibrated beneath him. This drive would be a concrete manifestation of his anger.
"Yeah, baby!"
Ru showed up on the square and used the motorcycle to fend off the demon horde. It passed through them like a tornado of metal and fury.
But then, during the chaos, he heard a desperate mewling and slammed on the brakes. The motorcycle skidded to a halt, and there, trapped in a corner, was a ginger cat. Without hesitation, Ru abandoned the motorcycle and grabbed the crowbar, ready to face the renewed onslaught.
He fought with a ferocity born of desperation; wild like the orc knight of his dreams and therefore sexy. At one point he got stuck and had to retreat towards the corner where the cat was.
He took a deep breath and...
Let out his first battle cry.
Ru let out a deep roar, like a wild animal. As the last traces of the human voice receded, a deep, formidable rumble took its place. It was a low growl that seemed to come from deep down in the earth.
His green eyes, usually joyful, now had a wild, intense, otherworldly glow. From deep within his chest, a rush of red flame erupted. It was a fire of pure, unbridled rage, a consuming inferno that pulsed with destructive energy.
The flames danced and writhed, their crimson tongues licking at the encroaching darkness. They were not just destructive; they were also cleansing and purifying the alleyways of the demonic taint.
The demons, let out shrieks of agony as their ethereal forms were consumed by the ruby flames. They were beings of shadow and despair, and the raw, life-affirming energy of the fire was the opposite of them. Their essence, once a malevolent force, was purified in the crucible of flame, leaving behind nothing but ashes of their former existence.
"Oh my goddess, what have I done?" Asking that question, Ru took action again when the cat jumped into his lap.
He got back on the motorcycle with the cat in his arms and stepped on the gas. He still had a few more imps to crush and a few more hell dogs to dodge. As he moved into the darkness of the night, the city lights turned into a blurry kaleidoscope, and he felt a strange sense of peace. In a world overrun by darkness, he found a small spark of light that reminded him of the humanity that still existed during chaos.
The cat!
