Chapter 17

Third Person POV

Inside the Fairy Tail guild hall, there was a loud trembling.

Natsu had tossed Gray across the building, collapsing several tables. The surrounding guild members, mainly Elfman, Cana, and Gajeel looked excited to see a fight. Levy shook her head, unamused by their shenanigans, and went off to find a quiet corner to read.

"Say that again Ice Princess and you're finished!"

Gray stood up from the rumble, the surrounding air near him suddenly dropping by a few degrees, turning chilly.

"Alright, Flame Brain. I'll say it again, but slowly..."

As Gray said so, he pushed out his left palm, his right atop of it, held in a fist.

"Ice-Make..."

Natsu immediately took a step back and deeply inhaled,

"Fire Dragon..."

"A man is always ready for a fight!" Elfman said as he cheered on the two.

Cana set down her barrel of alcohol and went around, asking others to place bets.

"Who's going to win this time? Natsu or Gray? Or-"

BONK!

And before Cana could finish she saw Erza swept in from the sides, knocking the two down.

"-Erza wins!" Cana exclaimed, not really at all surprised.

"Erza is now 58 for 0. A monster win streak!" Macao said as he took a swing of his beer.

Erza had her hands at her hips as she scolded the two troublemakers of the guild.

"Every single day, you two always bring trouble to the guild! Can't you rest for once! Would you like to run another lap around Magnolia? This time, with weights?!"

Natsu and Gray sat up an hugged each other fearfully while saying,

"No ma'am!"

"Good! Because if-"

Erza abruptly stopped talking, her expression turning solemn as she sensed powerful magic in use throughout Magnolia.

The guild members who were watching the show in amusement looked at her, confused and slightly worried. No one had ever seen Erza this serious.

"Erza-nee, what is it?" asked Lisanna.

The whole guild had turned silent, expecting a reassuring answer from their S-Class Mage.

She then muttered, "This magic energy... it's coming from... our guild?"

Erza summoned her sword, pointing it at the second floor of the guild.

"Everyone! Back away! Now!"

The members of Fairy Tail immediately stepped back, increasing the distance between themselves and the second floor.

"W-What is it Erza-nee?" Wendy asked with a shaky voice.

"I do not know what it is but it's producing an absurd amount of magic energy from the second floor," said Erza in a grave tone.

Natsu and Gray stood up, both tensing up for an incoming fight.

Gajeel tossed away the metal scrap he had been chewing on and stared at the second floor, expecting a monster to appear

As shown by the older support magicians, Wendy stood in the back, silently preparing to cast support magic.

A few moments later, a small vortex seemed to appear out of thin air on the second floor, and that was when the magic energy that only Erza could sense was felt by everyone.

"Argh!" Natsu suddenly fell down on one knee, barely being able to lift his head up.

He looked over and saw Gray and everyone else struggling to stand up.

Erza slightly trembled as she faced the oncoming flood of magic energy.

She looked over at Natsu and Gray, the only ones that could barely move.

"Natsu, Gray and Gajeel. I need you guys to stand up and fight with me. Release your magic power to reduce the effects of the pressure! I cannot fight this enemy alone!"

Natsu was pissed. He was already on the floor and the person in question hadn't even appeared yet!

"What! Is! This! AAAAH!" he roared in anger, a fiery aura rolling off of him. He stood up with much effort, his fists covered in flames.

Gray and Gajeel, not wanting to fall behind also released their magic energy, trying to counter the effects of the surrounding magic pressure.

The ground had begun to shook with the combined magic energy.

The four had a fierce look on their faces as they were ready to blast this new enemy to pieces as soon as it appeared.

"Requip!"

"Fire Dragon..."

"Ice-Make!..."

"Iron Dragon..."

And they felt it. The presence behind that vortex was coming.

""Roar!""

"Hammer!"

"Wind God Armor!"

A giant torrent of power was released from the four, intending on crushing the vortex.

However, when they saw the vortex hazily produce a mirage of a figure they knew all too well, they couldn't help but gasp in fear.

"Oh no!"

"Shit! What did we do?!" roared Gray

It was Itachi. And he was about to face the combined might of the four strongest mages of Fairy Tail's younger generation.

Time had seemed to slow down as they heard a low-pitched spinning, the world suddenly covered in an ethereal red and white color in the eyes of the present Fairy Tail members.

They stared slack-jawed as Itachi calmly swerved his neck to his left, evading the piercing magic from the combined four.

His red mystifying eyes stared down at them as if he was unsurprised by the attacks of his own guild members.

Gazing down at them, his right eye pattern began to transform from the three tomoe they were accustomed to, into a pinwheel.

Since they were all silent, they heard their most mysterious mage lightly murmur, "Kamui."

A vortex the exact same as before began to revolve directly in the center of his right eye.

The magic attack that was about to blast through the ceiling, suddenly alternated its path, turning right back around.

The spear of energy headed towards the back of Itachi and swerved around, re-routing itself into the whirlwind created by his right eye.

Woooosh...

In but a few moments, his pinwheel-shaped eye had sucked in the mass of energy in a powerful vortex.

Itachi then calmly smiled at the members on the first floor.

The members of Fairy Tail couldn't help but gasp in awe.

The whole time, he had never looked away from them...
