Novum dropped the heavy log that they were using for seating and moved it around a few times to make sure that it was lined up with rest of them. There were several teams of guys moving the other logs but Novum really sped up the process since he could move one by himself. He was moving a lot faster than them as well since there was still a lot of things for him to finish up today. He was not that involved in the design of the wedding since it was not really his thing but he wanted to make sure that Shannon got what she wanted.

It was the same as when he got married in his last life as well. He was not that worried about it this time but he remembered that the last one a bunch of stuff went wrong and he would not do that to her again. He double checked the stuff that he could handle and made sure that everything that he was in charge of was perfect. Theren was also doing his best and probably better than Novum since he had five weddings in his last life.

Theren walked over. "Show off."

"I am not showing off. It is just quicker and easier for me to do it. I can line them up easier and make sure that things go as well as they can. If you remember the stories our first wedding, a lot of things did not go right and I want to avoid it this time."

"Yeah there were bad things with all five of my weddings."

"You and the brides apparently." Novum gave him a playful smile.

"Well you aren't wrong there. What I am saying is that it will not be perfect and you have to be willing to go with the flow or it will never happen."

"I agree with you and I know that Shannon does not seem to care as much this time as last time but the better things go the less stress she will have the better things will be for everyone. And apparently a noble wedding is a big deal here."

"That makes since given that is the way that you created it."

"Only partially. I mean Khiz had a big wedding but given the situation it seemed like the right thing to do and I am honestly nut sure about any other weddings."

"Flick and Cat. Although they were not noble that was a big wedding as well."

"That is true. But he knew everyone so it was hard to make it a small wedding."

"Anyways, let get this finished up. You still have some guests to greet as well as getting into your formal clothes."

Novum adjusted the last log and then headed for his house. Melissa had been greeting and organizing the guests in different rooms within the manor. Quite a few of the nobles wanted the chance to stay somewhere safe but out of the city. Most of them only got to be out of the city in caravans that were dangerous or traveled through magic from place to place. This was a really nice change of pace for them.

Novum was just walking up to the house when a runner came barreling out looking for him. "Baron the Duke is here."

"Thank you. I will come and greet him right away." He walked into the house and the runner, who had sprinted through the manor, sat down for a few to catch his breath. The manor was not that big but sprinting was not easy, as hard as he was running.

Novum headed for his formal office, assuming that is where Melissa would seat the Duke while waiting for him. He thought about taking a short detour to clean up a little but he thought it would be best to not make the Duke wait. He walked into the room and knew that he was right to trust Melissa. "Greetings Duke. Welcome back to my home."

"Baron, it is good to see you. I am sorry that I did not send word ahead of time but I was a little worried about security."

"That is completely understandable. I made sure that you were taken into consideration for the seating. I hope that you enjoy your time here."

"This really is a beautiful manor."

"After this issue with the Earl is over with you should sneak out and come here for a few days. I will have Barry block teleportation into the area so it will take them a little time to find you and then Melissa can stall them."

"That is very considerate of you. Fishing should be about right soon."

"I have not fished since my grandfather passed. I may just take you up on your offer. And my grandkids should be coming for a visit soon. If it works out I will send word and we might spend a few days here on the lake."

"You don't even need to send word. There is always room for you and your family to visit with us. And it might be nice to get the grandkids out of a bigger city and get them some fresh air."

"I will seriously consider it. But I know that today is a big day for you and with your permission I would like to stay here out of the way until closer to the wedding. That way I am not causing to much trouble for your people."

"Sir go where ever you like. I have enough guards and people that I am sure that you will be safe here. But I recommend not heading to the northwest of the property. The lake it north and that is fine but the northwest can be a little tricky."

"May I ask why?"

"That is where Granny lives and she is scary when she does not want to be disturbed. She is also very, very powerful. Given the choice in fighting your personal guards or her, I would take your guards twice. If you do go that way and dark clouds form above your head, run. Forget your noble dignity and run. She can cause small storm clouds to appear and chase you with lightning. I asked her to be nice since it is a wedding but she is rather set in her ways."

The mage behind the Duke was a little startled when he heard about the clouds and the lightning. There were only a few people that he was aware of that could manage that kind of power directly. Most of his arcane brethren could not pull it off. The lightning was easy but the cloud that chased you was something that only a archdruid could manage with ease. This was not an entity that he would cross lightly.

"Duke, it might be a good idea to head that way and offer the lady a gift. Nothing fancy or fake but some real. If she plays nice for the wedding this would be the best time to offer it. That way when you come back you will have a possible extra layer of security."

"She is that powerful?"

"Given the description that the Baron just gave I would only come after her to save your life or my life. Anyone else is fair game. I would not provoke her unless it was an emergency."

"Then what could I give her?"

"The seeds that you got form across the realm. Keep a small part of them for yourself and offer her the rest of them."

"Really just some seeds?"

Novum butted back in. "He is right sir. The best thing that you can give her is seeds. Although if you have some rare tobacco, that is also a good option. But you did not hear that from me. Oh, if she send Fang out that is an invitation to come in."

"Fang?"

"My wolf. My first real friend from when I got here. I asked her to keep an eye on him today with all the extra people."

"Then I will leave you to it Baron. I will take your advice and see what kind of mood she is in and go from there."

Novum debated on sending word to her about the identity of the incoming guests but thought better of it when he realized that she might reject them just for being nobles. She was not happy with some of the logging that was going on in the area. Novum made sure that all of her recommendations were followed and she encouraged the trees to grow faster.

After the two of them were gone Melissa walked in. "Baron should you warn her that they are coming?"

"It would not do the two of them any good. Honestly this way she can tell them what she thinks and it might get her the support that she needs. And if I tell her she might reject them before she finds out they could help her or not. So, no I am not going to tell her. And the mage can handle the lightning if she gets mad."

"Can he?"

"Well the first few. And she would not kill them just scare them away."

Theren heard that and laughed. "Are you sure?"

"As sure as I can be. I asked her very nicely to not hurt anyone since it is my wedding."
