Chapter 7 - The New Student [1]

I looked at Aurora with a completely deadpan expression, but in reality I was terrified. But I was rather skilled at hiding my expressions, especially fear. I was good at it back in my past life as well, who would've known it'd come in so handy.

Aurora looked at me for moment before speaking, "We're going to be having an Elf join us soon, she's coming in a bit late for personal reasons. And I was hoping that you would accompany her, the Elf that's joining us is the Princess of the Elves. You're going to just take her to classes and whatnot, simple stuff."

I was shocked, it should've been Elijah who would be doing this, I didn't write a reason as to why he was her guide but that didn't matter anymore. The main story had diverged already, I hadn't even done anything though?

"Wouldn't it be a better idea to have a God Blood accompany her? Or if that's too excessive, send in someone with the standing appropriate standing to be the guide of the Princess."

Aurora sighed, but she also had a smile on her face, "Well, that would be the logical conclusion. But, the Elves requested someone who wouldn't look at the Princess with impure thoughts in mind. Although it pains me to say this, your cold and expressionless self perfectly fits the criteria. On another note, try to show some expression. It contradicts what I just said, but seriously a 15 year old shouldn't have eyes like that. Anyways, what do you say?"

I was, expressionless? I knew I has changed but was I really that different? Then I recalled the students from before saying my eyes were disgusting, then it clicked. My mouth opened a bit from shock but I closed it soon enough. I hadn't realised it till now, but to everyone else.

It looked like I was some sort of expressionless weirdo who's eyes were completely dead. Well, with what I've been through, it's kind of hard to show expressions.

"Judging from your reactions you haven't noticed how expressionless you look to everyone right?"

I nodded, and stared at her momentarily before speaking, "As for accompanying the Princess, no thank you. I think it would be a better idea to send someone more friendly to the Princess."

"I'm also sending you as her guide to help you become friendlier with the class, it's not too apparent now. But you'll see yourself become isolated if this continues, it's happened before and I'd rather not see it happen again. And, I noticed something earlier, you waste a lot of Mana right? When you're casting magic, I'll train you after the Princess has settled in, how's that sound?"

I looked at her, in complete and utter shock. I didn't want to get overly involved with Alicia Haerelith, the Princess we were talking about because she was a harem member. But, my main goal was survival of the gates. I would happily change the plot if it meant my likelihood of survival increased, I didn't want to change the plot for now.

I didn't want to change it, because it could lead to certain people dying or surviving. I needed certain people to survive, I was going to recruit three people into my mercenary group. Although it'd be by blackmail, I'd build up trust with the people I had in mind and slowly make them want to stay in the group.

Anyways, back to the situation at hand, I had the opportunity to have Aurora Gladius teach me how to use magic. I had no clue on how to properly use it, but she was one of the best teachers out there and she wouldn't find any problems with my inability to use Mana. She was a really good person after all, I was thinking of using that later on.

And if she was offering to teach me, it would definitely bring me closer to turning her into someone who would be useful to me. So naturally I said, "I'll take you up on that offer, Master."

(Author's Note: Master as in "Teacher" but I'm sure most of you guys know that but just a clarification for those who don't know what I meant.)

Aurora was shocked for a moment, her face went the slightest bit red before she smiled at me. "I'll meet you at the front gate of the school tomorrow morning, 7 o'clock and don't be late. It'll sully your reputation along with the schools if you're late."

I smiled at Aurora before leaving, my lips slowly turned into a smirk. Calling her 'Master' was something I did to close the gap between us, even if it was just by a bit. She had never taught anyone 1 to 1. Which meant no one had ever called her Master, it gave her a sense of fulfilment to teach. But she'd never been called Master, it should've been a shock to her but I can tell that she enjoyed being called that.

I knew this because Elijah was the one who was originally taught by her, but this was further down the line. She was also one of the harem members, and honestly she was my favourite girl out of the harem. After all, mature girls like her were my kinda thing. But that's not important, I'm pretty sure I'll get an email telling me the room I was supposed to go to.

I asked a senior for the way to the first year dorms. The senior I had asked was none other than the student council president, her name was Lillian Pendragon, a descendent of Arthur Pendragon. She had long white hair along that went all the way down to her waist, she had rather beautiful ocean blue eyes. She also gave of this air of innocence, yet her eyes betrayed that aur of innocence and were piercing. Her posture and way of doing things made it impossible to hide her confidence, I could tell due to my heightened senses. That she was strong, very strong. If I fought her, I'd die, I broke out into cold sweat.

Then I heard a gentle voice asking, "Junior? Are you alright? Do you need to go to the infirmary or something?"

I took a deep breath, I made eye contact with her. "No I'm alright, I ran out of Mana earlier in class and I'm rather exhausted."

She looked at me with a somewhat perplexed for a moment before smiling and pointing out where I should go. I made my way to my room, in the lobby I had quite a few people stare at me, well it was natural.

I had frozen a large amount of the training room and was expressionless most of the time. It was bound to get me some amount of attention, to my surprise. The squad of pretty people was at my dorm room, it was Angelica, Elizabeth, Arden and Elijah.

"Do you need something? I'm in need of some rest."

Elizabeth glared at me again, she seemingly had something against me but I honestly didn't care, Elizabeth opened her mouth and said, "Could you not put in the effort to at least act like you're a decent person?"

I stopped momentarily and looked at her deadpan, "Unfortunately, some of us don't have the motivation to he so happy go lucky."

Arden and Elijah looked at each other, seemingly wanting to interrupt but they didn't for whatever reason. Angelica looked at the both of us before speaking, "We came here to tell you that you should probably apologise for freezing so much of the training room. Someone could've been Injured, you really need to be more careful."

I looked at them for a moment, I nodded. They were right, I probably should have been more careful. And since there isn't any caviat to apologising I might as well, "My bad, my Mana control isn't too good so I'm not particularly good at releasing a controlled amount."

Elizabeth looked somewhat shocked, honestly I didn't know why she thought I was such a bad person. Angelica and Elijah were smiling as if happy to see I wasn't a total jerk. And Arden gave a small smile before they all walked away, presumably to go and hang out in one of their dorms.

I placed my finger on the handle and the door unlocked, the doors had a fingerprint sensor to unlock them. I practically ran in to my room and got dressed into nightwear I had pulled out from my Dimensional Ring. I was planning on leaving the room as is, the only pieces of furniture in the room were a bed and a desk with a chair. There was also a mini fridge and there was a window at the side but there was nothing else. And I was planning on keeping it like that.

It took a while before I had managed to fall asleep, mainly due to how sore my body was from the swinging and the Mana exhaustion.

Angelica Godhart POV

We were all heading back to Elijah's dorm to hang out for a bit, then Elizabeth spoke up. "I wasn't expecting that Reinhardt guy to apologise so quickly. Those cold eyes, they made me think that he was some sort of emotionless weirdo but he's not too bad."

"I met him on a train before, I felt his bloodlust there. It was horrifying, it made me want to run away. But honestly I deserved it since I instigated it all, honestly my pride was crushed but that's helped me quite a lot. I'm rather grateful to him, so it's nice knowing that the person who I'm grateful to isn't a complete dick."

The three looked at me somewhat shocked, but decided not to ask any further about it. 'Today, his eyes looked even worse than when I met him on that day. I didn't lay attention to his eyes earlier today, but they're worse than 2 days ago. Just what on earth happened in those 2 days?'
