Chapter 19

After receiving the address of the best weaponsmiths in the capital from Hague, Ruben left the inn in the morning to check them all out.

From Hague, he was recommended the 5 most popular choices in the capital. Since he wasn't acquainted with any of them, Ruben thought that he might as well check them all out.

Taking a carriage, Ruben went to the nearest weaponsmith in the list. Being very particular, he wasn't satisfied with the first three weapons maker he visited.

From his Observing Eye, he could see that the items in the store and the weapons maker were just slightly above average.

He was not surprised to find that the third weapons maker he visited to be a Marked. His stats seemed not too much different from an average Joe with no skills though.

'It seems like most Marked aren't too different from an unmarked person if they weren't able to distinguish themselves in their channel.'

Ruben thought that that might be why many resort to despicable means to attract constellations.

Although he was an assassin, he still lived by a code, avoiding to harm innocent children and women if possible. He didn't enjoy torturing people but circumstances made him learn and use it.

As the capital was in actual, very large, all the weaponsmith were quite far apart and by the time he arrived at the fourth location, the sun was already beginning to set.

'Looks like I would have to leave the last weaponsmith for tomorrow.'

Entering the clean shop, he was glad to find that all the items sold were much better than the other places he had visited.

Picking up a dagger, he found that not only was the craftsmanship exquisite, he could see that the damage was higher than average as well. The quality of most of the weapons in the shop were much better than the weaponsmith he visited before.

Satisfied with the items he had seen in the shop, he informed the shop attendant his intention to checkout the weapons workshop and left the store.

The workshop is usually behind or next to the shop so it wasn't difficult for Ruben to find it.

Whenever he visited the weaponsmith, he would visit the workshop to check the weapons maker's stats after looking through the store. He liked to be thorough with his work.

Entering the workshop, he was surprised to find only a single man in his 20s working there.

Checking his status, Ruben confirmed that he wasn't Marked but still had pretty good stats with high strength.

'I guess a good weaponsmith would need to have high strength.'

Ruben watch as he waited for the young weapons maker, Ismael whose name Ruben read from his status window.

After a while, Ismael finished what he was doing and noticed a visitor who he guessed to be a customer hoping to make a commission in the workshop.

He would often have customers look for him personally for custom made items.

"I'm Ismael, how can I help you?" Ismael asked Ruben while wiping away the sweat from his face with the towel hung around his neck.

"Did you make all the weapons in the store next door?" Ruben said nodding his head slightly at the store's direction.

Ruben thought that he might have Ismael make his bullets after a confirmation. It was the best workmanship he had seen so far among the other weaponsmith he had visited.

Although he has yet to visit the last weaponsmith, he could commission Ismael make him a set of bullets first and check out the other place later.

Ruben guessed that Ismael would be the best weapons maker he could find so he wasn't expecting much from the last place.

If the other weaponsmith turned out to be as good or better than Ismael, he could commission them as well and compare the bullets made from both places.

"Yeah, is there anything you need?"

"You are very skilled for your age." Ruben praised.

"It's all thanks to my master's teachings. He taught me everything I know." Ismael said with proud expression with a hint of admiration when he mentioned his master.

With his eyebrows raised, "Is your master working here as well?" Ruben asked hoping to meet the master and hopefully have him make the bullets.

To be able to guide someone to be as proficient as Ismael at such a young age, he must be an excellent weaponsmith well. It would be beneficial if he could get acquainted to the master.

"Ahhh, he retired long ago." Ismael said rubbing his nose. "What can I help you with? I may not be as great as my master but I'm still confident in my work."

It wasn't bad if he could have Ismael make his bullets as well. Ruben felt that he may be the best choice among the others he had met, at the same time, he was curious of his master.

"I would like to have a specific kind of bullet made." Ruben said as he took out a 10mm bullet from the space ring with his hands in his pocket.

Taking it, Ismael studied the bullet with much interest.

"This is slightly different from the other bullets I've seen" He mumbled studying the Bullet closely.

He then looked at Ruben with a confused expression. "This seem to be more powerful than all the other bullets I've seen. Judging from the size and output, I am not sure if there's any firearm that could use this."

The bullet was too big for pistols and revolvers, while from the looks of it, it was unsuitable for larger firearms.

"You don't have to worry about the rest. Is it possible for you to remake these kind of bullets for me in the future?" Ruben asked.

After checking out the bullet more and giving it a though, Ismael finally said, "It isn't impossible to imitate but I don't think I would be able to completely replicate this. Meaning, the function and use would apply but the effects when used could be slightly different."

Ruben expected this much since the firearms he had seen so far wasn't great compared to those he had seen and used back on Earth, the technology to make them wasn't as great as well.

This didn't discourage him though, he believed that as Ismael continued to make him the bullets, he would familiarise himself more with the process and provide him with a more similar product later.

Nodding his head in understanding, Ruben asked, "How much would it cost?"

Taking out a paper and pen, Ismael started to write down some calculations before giving Ruben a reply.

"To make the moulds and get the equipment needed, I would need 4 silvers. After that, making the bullets wouldn't be too difficult. It should at most cost you 6 coppers for each bullets made. You don't have to pay the 4 silvers when you come back later since the moulds and tools could be reused." Ismael explained.

Hearing this Ruben did a quick calculation in his mind.

"Try and make me 15 bullets first, I'll come back for more after checking their performance."

He wanted to make sure that the bullets were standard and would fit his magazine perfectly before ordering more.

He didn't want to damage the gun if the bullets were not of the standard.

He could see Ismael looking at him hesitantly and asked, "Is there something you need?"

"Would it be possible to leave me two more of these bullets? To make them as close to the original as possible, I would need one for making the moulds, one to check all the dimensions and one to model from when I am making them."

It wasn't an outrageous request as it was justifiable that he would need them. Rather, Ruben felt more assured seeing how serious Ismael was at his work.

Instead, he would have been less confidence in Ismael if he hadn't asked, so the took out two more and passed them to Ismael.

Relieved by Ruben's reaction, Ismael took the bullets and kept them in a small box carefully.

"It would take me a few days to make the moulds and get the needed tools, you can come back in two weeks. They should be ready by then."

"I'll leave the address of the inn I'm staying at so you can contact me if necessary. My name is Casey Wick which would be known to the innkeeper there." Ruben informed Ismael.

Ruben has made himself a new identity when he used Disguise. He had a broker make him an identity with the name, after two fictional characters from Earth.

He then gave Ismael 5 silvers for the commission.

Leaving the weaponsmith after confirming everything, Ruben hailed a carriage back to the inn.

He plans to look around the capital for an inn he could buy during his stay in the capital.

It would become a base for him to collect and exchange information while earning some money.

Tairon was the largest city in the country, Lindem. It had a huge land area and population so Ruben could take his time going around to look for a suitable place.

As Ruben returned to the inn, he felt someone watching him.

Unable to find where the person is hiding, Ruben kept stayed alert as he went back to the inn. Ordering dinner at the bar, Ruben decided to wait and see how it goes.

He would wait till the person show up while staying vigilant against any sudden attack of sort.

The name Casey Wick as most would have already guessed the Wick came from John Wick.

Casey on the other hand, came from John Casey.

John Casey is a character from the show Chuck. I highly recommend watching it if you haven't. :)

P.S. I'm currently moving back to my home country so I have been busy packing my things and getting things in order, so I'd like to apologise for having not update.

Thank you for the support to all my dear Readers!!! <3
