Chapter Forty-One

"What happened to my father?"

"What father?" Seth asked.

"My real father. Julius Amaros. He was killed mysteriously, this book said. I'm certain you know how," Jin said.

Seth did not need to ask which book he meant. He knew very well which book he was talking about.

"You really won't like what you will hear."

"Tell me."

Jin would have his memory sooner than Agnes. Then, he would know the answer to all his questions. However, he promised Agnes that he would try not to keep Jin in the dark ever.

"He is very curious. When he cannot find an answer to something, he goes crazy. He will keep on working until he finds the answer," Agnes told him long ago. "When you meet him, don't keep things from him. It will bother him forever."

"Julius was despicable. He was a disgusting piece of scam. He, well…" Seth ran a hand through his hair. "He abused you."

"He hit me?"

"More than that."
