Chapter 81

We placed our bags by the door and sat down in the small sofas that occupied the living room. My mate, giving me a quick glance, made her way upstairs where I knew her room would be. I had noticed from my last time here that there was only two rooms in the second floor, just like her home, so I had given my father a warning about it which is why our tent was tucked safely in the back of his Hummer.

Her father stepped in front of us, passing his fingers through his hair nervously without looking at either of us. "I do apologize for the lack of space here. Only Rocky and I have come here after her mother died."

My eyebrows pulled together in confusion at his words. Rocky had never told me about her mother. It was a subject we had never even talked about, to be honest. I had always wondered where her mother was, but I never bothered to ask.

My father waved a hand dismissively in their air with a smile. "It's alright, Richard. We came prepared."
