"Yup, she really is something, Marcus," Alex said with a smile, breaking the heavy silence that surrounded the table. He proceeded to his meal and I just had to look away once more.

"That's actually really interesting. I tried it once, but I ended up failing within a few hours after I made that choice," Sarah said with a frown.

Ethan laughed quietly beside her, squeezing her arm gently. "You just couldn't resist the steak, could you?"

A small blush flushed against her fair skin as she looked away, clearly embarrassed. "It was calling out to me." I couldn't help but smile at her response.

The table fell into mindless chatter as they all began their conversations with one another. I looked to my right, noticing that Marcus was staring right at me with a small smile on his lips. "What?"

He chuckled, pulling me closer to him. "You handled that pretty well."
