Wait, why was he feeling this way? It wasn't until I replayed what I had said in my head that I understood this sudden emotion. "Oh Marcus, I didn't mean it like that. It's just so sudden and new to me. You just need to give me some time to grasp it all. I'm so sorry." My voice cracked slightly towards the end. I reached out my hand and placed it gently against his cheek, my fingers trembling at the touch. I grazed my hand against his skin before placing it beneath his chin and lifting his head until his eyes met my own. "I didn't mean to hurt you that way."

He clasped my hand with his own, letting out a soft sigh as he leaned against it. "I know. It's my fault for throwing all of this information at you so quickly."

I shook my head. "I'm the one who wanted to know. You were only doing what I asked."
