Chapter 37

He shrugged, looking up at the ceiling once more. "They know without them knowing, if that makes any sense. They think that it's all just fantasy and it's simply a world that was created by others long ago. The truth is, these stories started from humans that had encountered us in their lifetimes. The good part about that is, everyone thought they were crazy." He laughed lightly at that. "Anyway, every pack member, werewolf really, has someone who we call a mate." He looked up at me, waiting for me to say something but I just kept quiet. I urged him to continue with my eyes and he did. "Mates are, well, mates. They're a wolf's other half. The moon goddess herself carefully selects who is destined to be together and once a werewolf finds their mate, they're bonded to each other for the rest of eternity."

"Really? That's so sweet." He nodded his head, looking out the window as his body tensed as I continued to stare at him. "There's more to that, isn't there?"
