Chapter 29

We traveled for quite some time before he stopped abruptly in front of me. I was in my own little world so I found myself colliding against his large frame and falling onto the ground below. Lucky for me the leaves broke my fall and it was like falling into a cushion of pillows; only that these pillows made a weird crunching sound instead.

He turned around and offered me a hand to take. "Sorry. Should've warned you."

"That would've been nice," I muttered, grabbing his hand and pulling myself up to my feet. I dusted the leaves and dirt off my jeans before looking back at him. "So what is it that you want to show me?"

He looked out at the trees around us, a heavy sigh escaping his lips as he ran his hand through his dark locks. Man he looked sexy doing that. Keep it together Rochelle!

"Can you promise me something first?"

I tilted my head in question but answered either way, "Sure. What is it?"
