Tara’s POV
“Let’s go for a walk.” Tanner reached down to me, extending his hand as he moved to pick me up. “Maybe the air will help cool everything down.”
I nodded and reached up and took his hand, leaving Talia and Kia behind to get ready for bed. Once we were outside, and after a few moments of silence, Tanner spoke.
“You know Talia didn’t mean any harm, do you?” I nodded my head in response and Tanner sighed. “Sometimes, she just lets her words carry her, instead of accessing the situation properly. She didn’t mean to push you.”
I knew he was right, of course. Therewere enough instances where Talia had ended up saying the wrong thing or saying too many things when they weren’t necessarily needed in the moment. I didn’t fault her for it, we all had our things that we weren’t capable of controlling—for me that was my anger.
