Chapter 1

Ember's pov

I am walking in the forest towards the small river some meters away from my pack's territory border.

I have missed this river, this smell, this beauty. It has been four years since I came here last time as I was missing. I was in a private college getting trained for my future duties as Alpha of the Shining Full Moon Pack. I came back to my pack and family last night.

I am Ember Glenn and I am 18 years old. I have long dark chocolate brown hair, dark green eyes and full pink lips. I have a normal height for a woman and the right weight with some curves.

My wolf's name is Beth and she has total white fur with dark green eyes as well. She is very big, like a pure Alpha wolf and she is strong and fast. She is great, I adore her and she adores me, we are a great team.

My father is George, the Alpha of our pack and 38 years old and my mom is Fern, the Luna and 36 years old. I have a younger brother, Kyle who is 16 years old, a younger sister, Tia who is 8 years old and a baby brother one year old named Nate. My father's mother is Maya, his brother and my uncle is Travis and my uncle's mate and my aunt is Julia. They have a daughter, my cousin who I love very much, Kara who is 15 years old.

My best friends are Dean, who is 20 years old and my next Beta, Cai who is 19 years old and my next Gamma and last is Henna, my next Delta, 18 years old and the one who was with me back at the private college these four years.

Tonight is a big night for me and my pack as my father is passing his Alpha title to me and I become officially the Alpha of my pack. I will announce my Beta, Gamma and Delta who are my friends and the best for these positions.

Dean is a very energetic man, a great fighter, a serious and strong man who can be truly trusted. His parents, Kian and Emma are my parents' Betas and I love them very much.

Cai from the other side is a calmer man, very clever with great abilities in strategic issues and a more logical person. His parents are our current Gammas, their names are Logan and Olivia.

And last but not least comes Henna. She is a great tracker, one of the best there was at the private college and a quiet strong fighter. She is funny, strong and kindhearted. Her parents, Victor and Molly are my pack's Deltas all these years and great friends of my parents.

My pack has about 800 members and we are known as a peaceful, kind and strong pack. We have great fighters and we are pretty close with a lot of packs, such as the Frozen River Pack, the Red Full Moon Pack and the Bloody Wood's Pack.

We used to have great relationships with the Dark Forest Pack as well but things changed three years ago when the previous Luna and her sister-in-law were kidnapped on a rogues' attack and found dead some days later. The previous Alpha fell in a coma after he got seriously injured trying to catch the rogues and protect them and he hasn't woken up until now. His younger brother, Zachary blamed my pack for everything and his nephew, the Alpha of the pack, Bryan Jordon believed him and from that moment he is treating my pack as an enemy.

The worst thing in all these, is that our parents used to be friends and more specifically too good friends and had been always having a very strong bond.

Bryan has attacked my pack lots of times after that asking for revenge. My parents tried to talk to him but he is refusing to listen to them, he believes his uncle blindly and hates my pack more than anything else.

That's the main reason why I am so worried and I will do my best to protect my pack and family. I have never met him before and I don't want to, I know he is cruel, violent and a coldhearted man. He is exactly the opposite type of person I am.

I reach the river and take a deep breath relieved and calmer than ever. I was always a nature's admirer, forest is like home for me. When I was younger I used to come here with my friends and Kyle, we were swimming in the river and having fun. This river is in a neutral land and some miles away from here begins Bryan's pack's territory and yes, we are neighbours unfortunately.

Anyway...

I came here alone because I need to calm down before tonight and I want to swim in the river again as I had been doing some years ago.

I look around me to get sure I am alone and take off my clothes staying completely naked. I jump in the water and make a dip enjoying the cool water. I come to the surface some seconds later and start swimming to the small waterfall there is some meters away from me. I reach the spot where the water falls in the river and close my eyes giggling relaxed.

This place was always my personal heaven, my shelter, my treasure. I was coming here when I wanted to hide, calm down or feel happier. I will never stop coming here, this will always be my natural palace.

"Ember someone is coming!" Beth warns me suddenly and I jump up surprised.

I quickly move towards the riverside and stay in alert.
