Chapter 5: On The Run

At Avery's house, Emma hurriedly packed her bags and wanted to leave with her pups. Avery soothed, "Don't worry, it's still early."

At that moment, the two kids were still watching TV in the living room. Emma looked up at Amy and whispered, "I can't calm down. The Wilson's probably already know that I have two pups. As soon as they know their ages, they'll know they're the King’s pups."

"Come on! You can tell them the pups have another father."

Emma sighed and said, "Asher looks exactly like that man. They won't believe me."

Avery nodded and continued, "That's true. Then why aren't you worried that Liam will recognize you?"

Emma answered with certainty, "He couldn't have recognized me. He was still asleep when I came out that night, and then Charlotte went in."

"How can you be so sure?" Avery asked and laughed.

"I'm quite sure. Even if he woke up the next morning, he would only see Charlotte. Besides, he drank a lot that night. He wouldn't remember it."

"Well, poor Liam. He is so handsome and rich, but he has married a dirty woman who lied to him. He's smart, but this time he made a mistake." Avery sighed sympathetically.

Emma filled up a large suitcase and a small one, and said to her, "We're going to the airport. We'll have lunch there."

The two little guys were scolded by Emma as soon as they got home. Now, they were well-behaved, but Ella was still very disappointed. They wondered why their Daddy didn’t come to find them.

Asher became more upset. It turned out that the man didn't recognize his mother. Now, he was in doubt if that was really their father.

As soon as Emma got in the car, she spoked to her pups, "Be good, otherwise, I'll punish you."

Ella pouted unhappily, making Emma glare at her with a warning, "Don't behave like that."

She immediately pouted.

"Don't do that."

"But I didn't do anything wrong!" Ella felt aggrieved.

Avery immediately burst into laughter and patted Emma on the shoulder. "All right, the kids are safe and with you now, right? Don't be so serious."

Emma was still angry. If her kids weren't running around at the hotel, the Wilson's wouldn't have seen her.

It was all an accident and she just had to resign herself to that accident.

An unexpected accident.

At the airport.

The airport was always crowded, and there were many huge restaurants and cafes in the terminal. Emma and Avery walked into the restaurant with the pups.

Avery said she would treat them, after all, it was their last meal before leaving, so she ordered tons of food.

The dishes were very delicious, and the kids ate obediently. Emma and Avery did not want to talk about those things in front of them, so they talked about their work.

In an expensive private room of a restaurant at the airport, a man was sitting lazily on the sofa, when his phone rang at the right time.

"Hey, have you found them?"

"Yes, sir. They are having dinner in a restaurant on the second floor. Do you want to see them now?"

"No, I'll be right there. Keep your eyes on them."

"Yes, sir!" his bodyguard replied.

At 2:40 p.m., Emma and Avery were ready to go through airport security with the kids.

The security check was just ahead, and Emma finally felt relieved once she leave. She would feel more secure once they arrived abroad.

20 meters away from the security check, two tall men in suits and ties suddenly appeared and reached out to block their way.

"Miss Wilson, please come with us." The bodyguard was being polite.

Emma was startled when she was stopped, and she heard them. She was even more frightened upon realizing what they wanted. Instantly, she got angry. "Get out of the way."

Avery held Ella nervously, and stared warily at those two ruthless bodyguards in front of her, for fear that they would suddenly take her kids away.

"Sorry, Miss, but the Alpha wants to see you. Please come with us."

The security check was right in front of her. Emma didn't care about anything at that moment. She became angrier and continued, "I've told you to get out of my way! Do it or I'll call the police and say that you are harassing me."

The bodyguards were stunned. Then, they looked up behind Emma.

On seeing their expression, Emma and Avery immediately turned and looked at their back.

About ten meters away from them, a handsome and tall man, surrounded by four bodyguards, approached them elegantly.

The man was dressed in a black suit. His looked domineering, and his cold eyes were attractive and deep. Although he walked among many guards, he came across as aloof and distant.

Emma was surprised to see him. She looked at the man who appeared at the airport in disbelief, and her heart was beating fast. ‘How can this be possible? Why is he here?’

Emma felt as if she were in an ice cellar as soon as she met the man's eyes, which were deep and mysterious.

‘What does he want from me?’

The kids' eyes widened with excitement and they had a feeling that the man was their daddy.

Liam was calm as he stepped ahead while looking down at the panic-stricken Emma, carefully observing the two pups. Finally, he narrowed his cold eyes, stared at Emma again, and said with his deep voice, "Let's talk!"
