Chapter 1

In the year 1558, there are pirates and monsters in the world hidden and seen. Our story begins with a small family. Narina the mother, Jonathan the husband, Hiroshi the older brother, Vesper the middle child and Abaddon the youngest.

Vesper sitting in her chair in class with her brother learning about grammar and writing. Every now and then Abaddon would throw paper wads at the teacher and laugh. "Young man that is not proper behavior" the teacher remarks. "And your face is not either" Abaddon replies as some have the students have a look of surprise. Vesper stands up replying "sorry teacher I will take him home to talk to mom and dad about this behavior" as she pulls her brother out the schoolhouse heading home. "What has gotten into you Abaddon? you're not always like this." Vesper asked him in frustration. "Shut up Vesper you changed to since big brother Hiroshi left for a big adventure" Abaddon says angerly knowing he is right. "That may be true but, that doesn't mean go looking for fights. what if you get hurt or killed?!" Vesper yells with concern. Abaddon rolls his eyes at her concern "like that will happen sis you will be there to help me in the end" he chuckles without a care in the world. Vesper walks in silence knowing she will help him if he is in danger. She took over the duties of the oldest after their big brother Hiroshi left. As they walk up to the porch of their home, they hear a light flapping of wings. Vesper and Abaddon rush inside with the door closed hugging their mother. Narina had just returned from heaven and took her human form so other people do not freak out. "How was heaven mother?" Abaddon asks with a smile. "It was good today Abaddon" as she looks him in the eyes and sees conflict in them. "What is troubling you son?" Abaddon looks down avoiding her gaze "I miss Hiroshi and I'm still sorting my emotions out" "he is doing better though only got in trouble three times today" Vesper pipes up with a smile. "That is an improvement indeed Abaddon" Narina hugs her son and pats Vesper's head. "Your father should be home soon let us get to making dinner." "yeah" Vesper and Abaddon yell excitedly as Narina gets the food ready. They walked in and began helping their mom cook food for supper. As time passes by supper is almost ready. The front door opens "honey, Vesper, Abaddon I'm home" their father shouts as he walks into the kitchen "look at you two helping your mother cook" as he sees them covered in flour laughing having a fun time.

"Alright Vesper, Abaddon go get cleaned up" Narina says to them finishing up dinner. "ok" Vesper and Abaddon say in unison heading for their bathrooms to clean up. Narina looks at Jonathan with worry "their growing up so fast" "yes, they are love. What is troubling you?" as Jonathan hugs Narina. "It is almost time for Vesper to take her place in heaven as an angel since Hiroshi is not here" Narina replies. "I understand your worry she will do just fine" Jonathan says. "I know but between now and then is what worries me" Narina says. while Abaddon is hiding in the hallway hearing what his mom and dad were talking about. "That should be me going to heaven first I can be a better angel than her" whispering to himself with jealousy. "Well, that's a year away love I think everything will be fine" Jonathan says trying to be soothing to Narina. "As long as she doesn't get mixed up with any daemons it will work" Narina says bluntly. "True. kids super is ready!" as Jonathan and Narina set up the table. "we're here" Abaddon said as he and Vesper walk in to get seated. "Good let us pray then" Jonathan says. As everyone bows their heads and do silent prayers. then start eating their dinner peacefully. As the wheels in Abandons head start turning to prove he is better in any way possible "the food is excellent mom" he says. As the evening continued everyone was asleep after super well almost everyone. Abaddon was digging through his books on thoughts and ideas on how to be better than his sister. After some time, he had gotten tired over time then decided to go to bed himself.
