Someone stabbed the Prince!

Duke smiled and bend down in front of her. She frowned while looking at him. "What are you doing?"

"Hop in," he uttered, and her eyes widened.

"W-What?"

"Come on. I'll carry you," Charlotte was stunned for a few moments while looking at him. Duke raised his head, and saw her there, standing, unmoving.

"What are you doing? Come on,"

"Ah, yes," she said, and hop into his back.

"Hold tight," he reminded her before he got up.

When he stood up while carrying her. Duke started to walk downstairs, but Charlotte's chest started to throb so fast while thinking about she was carried by the Prince.

After half an hour, they were downstairs. Duke was about to walk again, but Charlotte stopped him. "Your Highness,"

"Yes?"

"You can put me down. I think I can walk now," she said.

"Are you sure?" Charlotte nodded her head, and he slowly put her down on the ground.

Duke looked at her, and she smiled. "Thank you, Your Highness."

"You're welcome."

"So, shall we part our ways now?" she asked him.

"But, may I know where are you living?" he asked, and her eyes blinked a few times.

"I'm sorry, Your highness. I can't disclose where I am living," she said.

"Ah, I see. It's okay. I understand," he replied.

"Thank you, Your Highness."

"You're welcome,"

"I'll get going now," she said to him, and he nodded his head. Charlotte then started to walk away from him, but she turned her back at him and waved her hands at him.

Duke waved his hands back at her, he was smiling, but suddenly a man approached Duke and stabbed him at the back. Charlotte was smiling, but the smile on her lips fades away when she saw blood dripping from his mouth and fell to the ground.

"Your Highness!" she shouted, and the man widened his eyes when she saw Charlotte. She run as fast as she could to follow the man, but it was too late. She went back to the Prince's direction.

"Your Highness... Hang on a minute. Help!" she raged as she keeps looking around. As Duke opened his eyes, he saw Charlotte's face so worried about him. It puts a wide smile on his lips while seeing her so worried about him.

Charlotte cupped her hands at his face. "Your Highness... Stay with me, okay? Wait a minute..." she said to him while cupping her hands at his face. After he lost consciousness, he smiled while looking at her face.

Charlotte was walking back and forth. She was restless while looking at Duke on the bed. "How's my son?" the King asked the doctor. The doctor looked at the King.

"Your Highness. He'll be fine soon, but right now, he needs some rest," the doctor said, and they sighed in relief after hearing that.

"Thank you," the doctor nodded his head before he went out.

Charlotte, the King, and Princess Celina were inside the room where Duke was. She looked so worried about him. The King walked closer to her, "Thank you for bringing him here." the King said to her, and bowed his head.

"Your Highness... You don't have to do that. It's okay," she said.

"No. You did a great part in bringing him here. Thank you,"

"It's my pleasure to help, Your Highness."

"But, I have to get going now, Your Highness."

"Okay,"

Charlotte walked out, but she sighed heavily, letting her head drop. She was worried about his condition. Charlotte went home and immediately went to her bed. The weight on her chest still lingered as the prince thought. A knock from the door caught her attention. She immediately stood up and put on her mask before opening the door.

"Elton?"

"What had happened?" he asked.

"I'm worried," she said.

"What? Why?"

"He got stabbed. And I'm thinking it's because of me," she said.

Elton's mouth wide opened. "Really?"

"Yes."

"Hey, don't think about it too much. He'll be fine," he said to make her feel at ease.

"Should I?"

"Yes. You can sleep now. Don't think about him too much. He'll be fine," she nodded her head, and Elton went out.

Charlotte tossed herself on the bed. She was thinking about why this is happening when it wasn't written yet. "Why is this happening? Why? Did I change the flow of the story?" she asked herself in confusion. She closed her eyes and hoped tomorrow would be a better day.

The following day, Duke opened his eyes slowly and he was about to get up, but someone stopped him. "Your Highness. You can't get up for now," his eyes widened when he saw Charlotte already in front of him. She was smiling at him.

"Good Morning, Your Highness," she bowed her head while looking at him.

"Caroline? Why are you here so early?" he asked.

"I'm worried," she replied, and Duke's eyes remained at her for a moment.

"Ah, by the way. I brought some soup for you, Your Highness," she was about to feed him, but a woman stopped her.

"Ms... You can't feed anything to the Prince. It had to undergo inspection," the woman said.

"W-What?"

"We need to check it first before he eats it," the woman said, and it's a bit defensive to her.

Charlotte scoffed, "Are you accusing me that I'll poison the prince, right?"

"No, Ms."

"No... That's what you really mean, right?" the woman bit her lower lip.

"It's not my intention to poisoned my future husband. Why would I do that?" Duke's eyes were widened when he looked at her. He smiled while looking at her.

"But, I know that Ms. But, we still need to-,"

"It's okay. I'll eat it. I trust her, you can go now," Duke uttered, and the woman bowed her head before she left.

Charlotte sighed and smile when she faced the Prince. "You trust me, don't you?" he nodded his head, and she started to feed him.

"How was it?" he nodded his head while chewing it.

"It was delicious," the corner of her lips slid upwards after hearing that.

"I'm the one who made it," she smilingly uttered.

"R-Really?"

"Yes, Your Highness."

"Then... You must be a cook then?" he said.

"Maybe."

The King peeked inside his room, and he could see the happiness his son was feeling right now with her. He smiled, and he closed the door again, to give them some privacy.

"I guess he's in love," the King uttered and walked back to his room.

"Thank you," Charlotte was cleaning up, and she looked at him. "Why?"

"You came early just for me. Thank you," he said.

"No, it's not a big deal."

"It is."

"I was so scared last night. I thought you'll be gone. So, please recover as fast as possible."

"Why? Are you that worried about me?" he asked while smiling at her.

"Ah... What I mean is, your father and sister are so worried about you. So, you better recovered as soon as possible."

"Okay. I get it," he said to her, and she smiled.

"Then, I'll get going now," she was about to stand, but Duke held her wrists, causing her to stop, and looked at his hands on her wrists. She blinked when her eyes adjusted.

"I'm sorry," Duke uttered as he lets go of her hands.

"It's okay."

"do you need anything else?" she asked.

"Yes."

"What is it?"

"You."

She could feel the fastening of her heartbeat. It goes like... Thug... Thug... thug...

"Huh? W-What was that?"

"Nothing. It's nothing. You can leave now," she nodded her head, and hurriedly went out of his room. When she went out, she leaned her back at the door and was gasping for breath.

"What was that?" she asked herself, but when she looked around, they were a lot of people in front of the door. She bit her lower lips and bowed her head.

She then walked in the middle and went out of the palace as fast as she can. "That was so embarrassing, Charlotte," she said to herself, and walked to the market.

Everyone was so busy doing their work. She looked at them and realized that she was just like them when she was in her world. Charlotte had been working for her whole life to sustain her daily needs, and it's tiring, but she needs to do it for her to survive.

She was just watching all of them when Deter saw her and walked closer to her. "Luna!" she was about to jump because he came out all of a sudden.

"Gosh! You startled me!" she uttered, and took her mask on her pocket and covered her face.

"I'm sorry," he uttered with a smile.

"Don't do it again, okay?" she said, and she keeps looking around, making sure no one saw her around.

"Yes, I will not," he replied.

She grabbed him to the corner and looked at him. "What do you want?" she asked.

"Luna... I saw you were watching them for a moment now. Why? Did you think of something?"

"Ah, nothing. I'm not."

"But, why are covering your face? I saw it already," he said to her.

"Don't tell anyone what I look like, okay? No one saw my face, except you and Elton," she said.

"Okay."

"Thank you,"

He smiled, "You're welcome. You can keep your secrets with me."

"Okay. Thank you."
