041 Fighting Beasts

While the others were preoccupied in their heated argument, about who did the dead beast belong to, Liam finished of the kill and collected the beast crystal, which he found where the wolfs heart should have been.

"You think we're afraid of you. You stole our kill; the beast crystal is ours." Olivia said at the group.

"Who's going to fight us, maybe you can take one of us on, but overall, we're a lot stronger than your lousy group.

"Olivia, I'm angry too, but it's not worth the trouble, we're wasting time like this." Ralph said to her.

"No, this beast crystal is mine." She remained adamant.

While they continued to argue, Liam's swamp puddle was never removed from the ground, and yet another beast had come their way. Liam, who remained indifferent in the argument, noticed it first.

"A fourth human realm red eyed rabbit." Liam looked at the rabbit that was the size of a large dog. "I can defeat it quickly." He thought before he rushed at it, employing his movement technique to quickly close the distance.

The rabbit sensed Liam and it also began to run away from him. The rabbit had a surprising amount of speed for a fourth human realm beast, but Liam was faster.

"If I did not have my movement technique, I would have never been able to catch this thing." Liam felt glad that he had spent all of that time training his movement technique.

Once Liam felt he was close enough, he slashed horizontally with his hand and a water in the form of a crescent moon flew at the rabbit, slicing its back legs off. Without any legs the rabbit could not continue running. Its speed was still great and it continued to tumble on the ground until it hit the trunk of one of the massive trees.

"Sorry, I did not mean to cause you unnecessary pain, I was aiming for the head." Liam spoke to the rabbit when he saw it squealing and squirming about on the ground.

"I still have a long way to go. I need to train to attack while on the move." Liam thought.

He used his movement technique to return quickly after collecting the beast crystal from the rabbit. He only needed to travel in one direction, so he made himself one big wave so he could travel a lot faster.

When he returned, Liam saw the two groups were still arguing and there was another person wearing a green robe in between them.

"What's an inner court disciple doing here?" Liam asked himself.

"I watched the whole thing from above and first to kill is first to claim." The inner disciple started saying, as if this was a court and he was the judge.

"Not fair!" Olivia said and Ralph had his head down in disappointment.

"I told you." The smug looking blond boy said to them.

"The one who issued the final strike, was that boy over there." The inner court disciple pointed towards Liam who was standing with a small crystal in his hands.

"You thief, you took the crystal!" The blond boy screamed at Liam, thinking the beast crystal in Liam's hand was the crystal from the wolf.

Liam looked at the crystal in his hands, that was the size of a baby's fist, and then he looked at the crystal in his bag on the right, that was the size of a baby's head.

"Is this guy stupid?" Liam said, thinking, how could he mistake this small crystal, to have come from the massive wolf. And looking at the purity and energy coming out of it, it was clear that it was at the fourth human realm.

"That is the crystal of another beast, the wolf beast crystal is in his bag, but no matter. He is the owner of both of them." The inner court disciple said before he slowly flew away.

The smug looking blond boy, now had an embarrassed and angry look on his face, without saying anything he took his goons and walked away.

"How I wish to fly again. Liam thought. Because of the high qi density in Coraopolis, people could fly there once they reached the third human realm, but in the overwater world, one needed to reach the sixth human realm to fly and that was if one had great qi control. Some people even needed to reach the seventh human realm to gain the ability to fly.

Just as the other's started walking towards Liam, to congratulate him, two beasts appeared.

"The swamp is working to effectively." Liam thought. The longer it sat on the ground, the larger its reach got, after being there for almost two hours it was expected for even more beasts to start coming.

"They are two silver shell tortoises, one of them is at the fifth human realm, while the other is at the fourth." Ralph and Olivia said at the same time.

"Aria, let molly hold the fourth human realm tortoise, while we deal with the big one." Liam said to her as he looked at the 3-meter-tall tortoise.

"But I can't fight." Aria said in panic.

"You're not fighting and neither is Molly, only give her the command to hold, not to fight." Liam said as he rushed of towards the big tortoise.

Liam rushed straight at it, in less than a second, he had closed the distance between them. Once he got under the tortoise's head, he slashed with his water arch, aiming to slice the head off.

To Liam and the other's surprise, the tortoise retracted its head faster than they could see. The arch continued to fly upwards at great speeds and the slicing of a few branches were heard, which then began to fall on them.

"Don't worry about it." Ralph shouted as he let out a burst of flames upwards, engulfing the falling branches and reducing them to ash.

"Not bad fire boy." Olivia said, before she made a thick trunk of wood come out of the ground, the log had a sharp end and Olivia sent it flying towards the tortoise.

"Let me help you." Ralph said as he sent the flying log on fire.

A raging flame burned on the meter thick log, that was heading straight for hole in the tortoises shell, where it had retracted it's head.

The tortoise, yet again had moved faster than they could react and the fiery log hit the side of the tortoise. The log broke from the inside out and exploded, the tortoise remained unharmed.

"Its shell is too hard, what should we do?" Liam shouted at the others.

"Get its attention for a few moments I have an idea." Ralph said.

Liam nodded his head as he began to move around in circles around the tortoise.

Ralph rushed to where the smaller turtle was, and Molly who was making it walk around chasing after it. Ralph jumped on the shell of the smaller turtle and then once again jumped off of it. Ralph flew through the air and before he started to descend, he summoned his fiery wings, that he had used to practice with Liam a few weeks back.

He flew above the bigger tortoise; he removed his wings and flew down at great speeds.

"Liam! Make it face me." Ralph shouted at Liam.

Liam looked at Ralph who was falling from the sky, looking to fall straight on the tortoise. Liam kicked towards the tortoise's chin.

The tortoise dodged his kick, but that also made it look up, but now it was too late for it to dodge. Ralph descended right on the tortoise's head and explosion of flames burst out from Ralph's whole body engulfing the whole tortoise in flames, but the heat of the flames was focused on the tortoise's head.

"Nice one fire boy." Olivia smiled at Ralph who jumped away from the flames.

"It still isn't dead, we need a bit more, but it should be easier to hit it now." Ralph said.

"Say no more." Liam said as he threw a water torpedo ad the underside of the tortoise's head, which was now fully black from the fire. Still recovering from the burst of flames and it's skin being so damaged, Liam's water torpedo easily pierced through the tortoises previously hard skin and the water torpedo came out of the top of the tortoises head.

"Why do you always get the last hit, no fair." Ralph said while laughing.

"Don't forget the smaller one as well. Molly is getting tired." Aria said.

"I'll deal with it right away." Olivia said as she placed her hands on the ground and roots began to wrap around the tortoise's legs. The roots and vines climbed up the legs of the tortoise and drilled inside its shell, destroying its organs from the inside. In a few seconds, the second tortoise was no more.

Aria looked towards Olivia in shock. "Just how strong is she?"
