Five o'clock

Around five o'clock, Charlotte woke up in Kaiser's bed with a migraine and pain all over her body.

Charlotte was unable to move or sit, let alone move her head so that the cold cloth would not fall from her forehead.

Her vision was blurry with tears building up in her eyes, but Charlotte tried to look around. Kaiser's room was empty and sunlight was filtering through the closed curtains.

"Ahh.."

A soft groan came out from between Charlotte's plump lips. She could not suppress it as she raised her hand to press her head slightly to relieve the headache.

Because of the series of nightmares she had last night, Charlotte did not expect to have a headache after waking up, in addition to the high temperature and cold that suddenly settled on her fingertips, something she did not expect.

She stopped pressing her head and hit her forehead with her weak fist on the cold, slightly damp cloth once, but it made no difference.

Within seconds Charlotte closed her eyes and hot tears slid onto the pillow, the fever killing her.

"Ahh.."

Another groan escaped her mouth and she almost hit her head again, but someone stopped her, saying.

"Stop hurting yourself."

Charlotte opened her eyes urgently when she heard Kaiser's low tone next to her.

"I wasn't hurting myself…"

Charlotte pouted her plump lips, and Kaiser's grip did not release her hand until he put it back under the warm blanket.

"I was just trying to relieve my headache."

Charlotte's voice was low and hoarse. She could hardly explain the reasons for her inexcusable actions to Kaiser while feeling the difficult and unbearable pain.

A headache was constricting the sides of her head and she was unable to hold back her tears due to the fever.

"Unlucky for you."

Kaiser spoke quietly after sitting next to her on the mattress, and continued.

"Beating on the head never relieves a headache."

Kaiser ended up staring at Charlotte's face, tears sliding one by one down the sides of her soft face. He extended the fingers of his left hand towards her eyelids and gently wiped away her tears with his thumb.

He leaned over Charlotte and felt her hot forehead with his moderately hot forehead after removing the cold, almost warm cloth. Kaiser's short locks tickled Charlotte's forehead, causing her to furrow her eyebrows.

"You're still so hot…"

Kaiser said as he raised his head and returned the cloth he had dipped in the bowl of cold water on the bedside table moments ago to Charlotte's forehead.

Charlotte felt the cold seep into her head as she felt the cold cloth on her forehead. She closed her eyes and Kaiser continued to care for her, gently wiping away the tears that escaped without complaint.

His amber eyes looked at the sick Charlotte as if he were seeing them for the first time, looking at her very slowly and still feeling her intoxicating breath.

"Last night you exposed yourself to stress, drank a lot of alcohol and exposed your body to the cold air."

Kaiser paused for a moment, then got out of bed and stood in front of the wardrobe to pull out his business suit

"You should have been careful."

"Are you blaming me?"

Charlotte bit her lower lip as she tried to hold back her tears, wondering if she was really to blame.

The cool fabric was a stark contrast to the rising temperature of her skin, which was now slightly stinging.

"You're so mean."

"Okay I'm sorry don't cry now."

After the effort of changing his clothes, Kaiser put on the last part of his suit and tied his tie, then combed his red locks back with his fingers as he checked the time on his other hand's watch.

"I still have some time, I can take you to the hospital if you're not okay."

"It's okay, I'm in better shape now."

"Is this the truth?"

"It's the truth!"

It was clear based on Charlotte's reaction that she absolutely refused to go to the hospital.

Kaiser was forced to ignore her refusal and take her to the hospital, but the stream of messages that flooded his phone made him abandon the idea of taking her against her will for the time being.

"Why can't I believe your words?"

Kaiser bent over Charlotte, took her by the arms and lifted her so that she was sitting on the mattress, holding her only with the necessary force and with extreme caution so as not to hurt her.

"What are you doing?"

The cold cloth slid from Charlotte's forehead and fell onto the blanket.

"I'm fine I swear!"

Until her last breath, Charlotte asked not to go to the hospital and proved that she is fine now,

A few random strands of her chestnut hair covered the side of her face, soaked with water and sweat as she stared into Kaiser's eyes.

Kaiser saw Charlotte's pleading looks and her failed attempts to convince him, which did not convince him at all.

He sighed in frustration and said.

"Okay, I'm not taking you to the hospital, okay?"

"Of course good!"

Charlotte replied emphatically, it was the right decision in her eyes.

Kaiser ignored her actions and moved the blanket away from her body. Meanwhile, Charlotte felt a cold wave that made her wrap herself around herself.

Wrapping her coat around her body while avoiding staring at her exposed shoulders and legs, Kaiser gently continued to wrap her in his huge coat as well, ensuring that she was warm for the time being until he took her back to her apartment.

"But I will take you home."

"My apartment? Oh this is so hard…"

Charlotte complained and tried to lie down on the mattress and give up the idea of going home, but the arm that Kaiser quickly placed behind her back prevented her from lying down.

"Come with me, you won't stay in my apartment."

"Kaiser~."

"How long have you been in love with my apartment?"

Although annoyed by her suddenly stubborn attitude, Kaiser maintained his calm tone while speaking with Charlotte.

"Or do you have plans to do it in my bedroom?"

"What are you talking about?!"

"What are you thinking about?"

Kaiser smiled as he lifted her off the mattress and carefully placed her on her feet.

He pulled Charlotte close to his chest and straightened the coat.

"You're completely wrong! It's just that I don't want anyone to bother me, so I want to stay at your apartment."

"Yes, yes. I believe you. Anyway, should I carry you?"

"No! You don't believe me! I'm telling the truth, this way I won't be upset!"

Charlotte was trying hard to resolve the misunderstanding while all Kaiser could think about was picking her up and carrying her to her apartment or letting her walk to her apartment.

In Charlotte's eyes, she is now a mess. What would happen if she met Leonid in the hallway, or he knocked on her door and asked her to take care of Hunter while she had a fever.

Not all options are suitable for her, so staying in Kaiser's apartment is the best option.

"Stop talking nonsense and tell me, should I carry you or not?"

"Huh?"

Charlotte's eyes flashed for a moment, then she quickly answered in a hoarse voice.

"Of course not!"

"Then let's go."

Kaiser did not oppose Charlotte's desire to walk, he immediately let go of her and started walking towards the door.

"Come on quickly, I don't want to be late for work."

"I'm coming."

At first, Charlotte felt dizzy when Kaiser pushed her away and started walking on his own.

She narrowed her eyes at him and walked behind him while pouting her plump lips.

She wanted to curse Kaiser behind his back even though he looked perfect from behind as well.

Like a wanted model.

With somewhat slow steps, Kaiser preceded Charlotte, reached the entrance of his apartment, opened the door, and leaned against the frame, waiting for her to arrive at his side.

"You should have let me carry you."

"I wouldn't take your initiative as good intentions, so no."

Although she was as puffy as a white polar bear, Charlotte bent down to pick up her shoes and get over the obstacle of the bulky coat.

After taking her heel, Charlotte looked around and couldn't find the other heel, which made her silent for a moment.

She quickly turned her head towards Kaiser, who in turn shrugged indicating that he didn't know.

"Oh come on, how come you don't know where my heels went! Aren't you my guardian?"

"Your guardian?"

"Yes!"

"That's an interesting description~"

Kaiser smiled, and his handsome face came back to life.

"Why are you smiling like that?"

"Are you really asking? How stupid are you?"

"I'm not stupid!"

After being awake for about ten or fifteen minutes, Charlotte felt herself recovering as time went by. Her temperature may have dropped and she no longer had a fever, although her vision was still blurry.

"Forget it, I won't talk to you!"

"As you wish, sweetie~"

Charlotte raised her eyebrows after hearing the word "sweetie" come out with a sweet sound from Kaiser's lips.

She moved quickly and stood in the hallway, holding the sole of her heel in her hand.

The cool morning breeze caressed her hot skin, making her slightly cold even though she was wearing an oversized Kaiser coat.

After looking at the sky from the window, Charlotte remembered Kaiser, who had slammed his apartment door and hurried towards her apartment.

She walked on her bare feet as the coldness of the cold tiles stung the soles of her feet, making her feel secretly grateful and happy.

"Aren't you going to say goodbye~?"

Kaiser said calmly as he followed her with calm steps

"Indeed, I am your guardian. You didn't forget that quickly, did you?

"You're not! Forget it!"

Charlotte screamed at him in a hoarse voice that almost got worse and quickly put the key to her apartment in the keyhole.

She had to quickly get into her apartment before Leonid came out and saw her like this, plus she wanted to escape from the Tsar.

She opened the lock, turned the handle, threw her shoe in, and turned to close the door, but Kaiser stopped her with his arm, saying with feigned kindness.

"I won't forget anything, until you say good-bye properly. Is this how you thank me for being so kind to you?"

"What kind of charity are you talking about? Well, well, thank you!"

"I don't want you to say thank you, I want you to say see you later or good luck or have a good day."

Kaiser smiled and leaned over to Charlotte.

"Come on, at least say one thing."

Charlotte was already running out of time, clenching her fists as she struggled with her thoughts.

"See you later! Good luck! Have a good day!"

"Wow. All at the same time, I like that~"

Kaiser quickly responded and added.

"Okay, take care of yourself. If you feel sick, call me."

Contrary to his arrogant habit of provoking Charlotte, Kaiser at this moment became unexpectedly serious in his dealings with Charlotte.

"Okay.."

Charlotte responded to Kaiser's seriousness by lowering her eyelashes to look down.

Kaiser's concern for her health was palpable in a way that was almost tender to her heart.

"Very well, see you later."

Kaiser's warm hand patted the top of Charlotte's head and he left.

From behind, Charlotte stared at Kaiser's back for a moment and then closed the door.
