It has been a week since I enrolled in Jujutsu Tech and I've made some tremendous progress along with Yuta. I can release and rotate my energy levels without exploding (it was phosphorous produced from my CE that blew up when it came into contact with the air), and I understood what my property could potentially do.
While training with Gojo, I found out that reinforcing my body with CE effectively covered myself with acid that eats away other CE. It also allowed me to disrupt Gojo's CE, sort of like the black rope he told me about. I can't use my CE to corrode physical objects yet but once I apply techniques, I should be able to perfectly.
Me and Gojo were in one of the large tatami rooms, training more hand to hand combat without CE, since being able to fight without it makes you more of a threat when you do use it.
"Yo Furō, pause for a second."
I straightened myself out of a fighting stance and swiped the sweat off of my face.
"What's up? Did I do something wrong?" I asked from across the room.
"No, not at all. Well your form was kinda off but I was wondering if you ever considered using a weapon, that's all."
Did he really have to mention that part…
But now that I think about it, I did a little bit of fencing when I was still in school. Beyond that, I haven't really touched any weapons beside my trusty baseball bat.
"Well, not really. Not that I can think of at the moment."
"Any hobbies?"
"I used to kayak with my father before he moved to the states with my mom and little brother.."
He put his hands on his chin and I'm assuming a potentially troubling idea spawned in his freaky Gojo mind.
"Let's take a trip."
"Where to?"
"We're going to retrieve an item from the Zen'in household. It'll be veeeeerrry quick, don't worry."
Isn't that where Maki is from? I never thought I'd be visiting a big 3 residences so soon..I'm excited!
"Alright, let's go!"
He walked over to me and grabbed my shoulder. In quite literally no time, we warped over to what I'm assuming is the Zen'in residence.
F@&$ING HUGE!
I reveled at the sheer size and elegance of the building. Should I really even be here? This is too cool..
"We're picking up a certain tool for you. Let's go." Gojo began walking to the entrance, where an older man with medium length grey hair and a funny mustache stood at the top of the steps.
"Satoru Gojo. Wasn't expect visitors today"
"Yet here I am, Naobito."
"Who's the kid?" Naobito said, looking down at me (which I didn't appreciate).
"This is my new student. Go ahead and introduce yourself." as Gojo slapped my back.
I may be ignorant in the world of Jujutsu, but I do have sense of the normal world. And one thing I know for sure is that this old geezer is DEFINITELY someone big.
"My name is Furōkawa and I recently became a Jujutsu sorcerer about a week ago. It's a pleasure to meet you."
I bowed and when I rose back up, our eyes met as he was standing right in front of me. It was startling how quick he was able to get in front of me without a sound, but he offered his hand and I shook it graciously.
"Welcome to the Zen'in household young man," Naobito walked back up the stairs and signaled us to follow, which Gojo already taken his steps.
"So, what're YOU here for? You never come visit out of the blue like this." Naobito fiddled with his mustache as we traversed the long halls.
"I've come for a cursed tool you guys stole; taking it back you could say."
Naobito turned around and looked at Gojo with obscure curiosity, which he slowly asked, "WHICH cursed tool..?"
I also looked at Gojo a bit curious as to what he wanted me to use for a weapon. I mean, I didn't have much experience with attacking or defending with weapons but I guess it'll be good for the experience points.
"The oar created with multiple steels and alloys. Ya know? Back in the Heian era?"
"Yes Gojo, I know the special grade tool 'Onamazu'…"
Something about that name alone gives me shivers down my spine. I appreciate Gojo thinking about my kayaking expertise but he sure is putting a lot of pressure on me by giving me a special grade tool, which I don't think I'm ready for.
"Thanks Gojo, but don't you think Maki would be better suited for a weapon like that?" I asked while we continue to walk.
"That girl could never wield Onamazu effectively. Barely ANYONE can. I'd be glad to see that cursed piece of metal gone anyways."
Gojo opened the armory door quietly and we all walked inside…and oh my. I've never seen so many sharp objects in one room before!
"Ah, here it is!" Gojo loudly announced.
Oh. my. GOD! The shining, glistening material covering the oar was simply divine! This craftsmanship was so utterly top-notch that couldn't help but to be drawn into this immaculate art and ponder upon its beauty. The sharp edge around the blade and the small grip handle right on the shaft are simply fantastic!
"Try holding it, Furōkawa." Insisted the other man in the room. I happily obliged to do so.
But as I tried lifting the weapon off the wall, it would only budge by a small margin.
I can't get it offfff!!!
"Let me get that for you." Gojo insisted on assisting me.
But there's no way Gojo could picked up the oar with…ease?
Which he did. Easily.
I don't understand how he was able to do it but as long as we have it I guess. Just shows how incredibly strong Gojo really is!
"Thanks for that, I didn't think it would be so heavy initially."
"Eh it's fine. I'm your teacher so I should help as much as I can."
Naobito filled up the door space with his large frame of a body.
"Gojo, you know you can't just take a special grade cursed tool from us for free."
I guess thinking things would automatically be fine and dandy was a little naïve, considering the tool seems pretty fucking amazing.
"What will you do if I don't pay? What CAN you do?" Gojo sized up Naobito. There was an uncomfortable silence in the air and I just stood around, waiting for something to happen.
"Just kidding, it'll be sent to your account later today." Gojo teased
Naobito aggressively turned around and walked away in annoyance. I didn't know Gojo could be such a dickhead to others. I'd sure as hell hate to not be on his good side..
Anyways, we saw ourselves out the residence quietly with the new special grade tool Onamazu. Obviously, I'm gonna need an enormous amount of training to be able to even swing this thing, but if I can master this weapon, who knows what feats I'll be able to reach!
