The 100 : The duty of a leader

(Slow Pace) When he died, Leon wouldn't have imagined that he would have a second chance. A new world, a new life, stripped of memories of the past ,remembering only what he loved and nothing more, armed with nothing other than his guts and body , how will Leon survive in this world torn by nuclear war and ruled by primitive civilizations ? Note : I don't own The 100 or any other characters that may resemble in any kind of way any characters form various shows and games. If I were to say that I own something, that would be my idea of changing a world, but that's what fanfiction is ain't it?

Chapter 87 - Sacrifices

Despite the clear message, Anya decided to ease Byrne's worries.

"Don't worry, Major Byrne, my people and I would be right beside you. We won't abandon our allies, not after you shed blood to protect one of ours."

"So be it then…"

Suddenly there was a beep, and just as the next beep came in from Raven's walkie-talkie, suddenly everything went silent from the other end. Not even a full minute after the silence, Raven began to quickly tap the buttons on the console, trying to find out what happened to Gina, Bellamy's girlfriend.

We all stopped whatever we were planning to do, because if something happened to that girl, then the Azgeda broke through the main entrance and made their way inside the bunker. That was the worst thing that could have happened to us, besides the impending doom of having the missiles blown up.

"Gina, Gina please respond!"

"R-Raven, this is Gina."

"Gina, what happened?"

"I'm not sure, but there was a loud noise and then a long cry before everything went silent then it repeated twice...I'll check it out."

"No! No, no, don't! Wait for—"

Sadly for Raven, Gina's stubbornness own over her friend's suggestion as the girl turned off the radio, walking carefully towards the office of the late president of this bunker. For some reason, Gina had no gun, no sword, or any weapon on her, but she still decide to check out if an intruder made his or her way inside the bunker, a foolish idea one could say. All she had was the training she and Bellamy did and even that was barely enough for her to keep from getting her ass handed over by most of the delinquents that had been baptized in fire.

Meanwhile, back in the control room, Raven started to panic as soon as she heard Gina's words. Just as she was about to turn and ask us for help, Finn and I walked behind her.

"Where is she? "

"Down two floors, in the President's office. You two better hurry, I fear that one of the Azgeda may have sneaked inside…"

Before she could get out the whole sentence, Raven saw us run, not bothering to try the elevator that hadn't been fixed yet, instead, we took the stairs quickly running down to save a girl from certain death. From what I have seen and heard from Anya and Gustus, the Ice Nation was known to take prisoners in a battle and because of that, I fear that Gina may have been killed already.

As soon as we made it down to the president's office, both Finn and I readied our guns before we slowly walk towards the office. Rather than seeing assassins or warriors, we were greeted by a wounded girl standing next to the corpse of the man who forced my friends to kill all of the inhabitants of the bunker.

When she saw us, Gina spoke softly as her strength was leaving her wounded body.

"A grounder... He has the codes on his arm, you… have to… ge…t th…em! Injured by…"

Gina struggled to let out the last words, nevertheless, her finger was pointing at the now-dead Cage. Between the two of us, Finn was the only one who had close to zero experience when it comes to wounds or how to treat them, so like any other person he nodded at me before dashing toward the entrance, hoping to catch the wounded grounder.

While Finn went to catch the grounder, I quickly kneeled beside the girl to see what I can do for her wounds, yet for some reason, Gina wasn't exactly bleeding heavily like Cage. Another quick look made me realize why. The grounder or Cage used something sharp to puncture all of her major organs causing the girl to bleed internally and externally, making the wounds even more life-threatening than they looked. The girl found her strength and managed to place a hand on mine forcing me to stop stopping her bleeding. There was no doubt that what I was doing was simply not enough, but until Jackson could save her, every little thing could help her.

"Th-there's nothing…do…he…me…"

I was losing her and truth be told, there was no way I could get her to Jackson in time. Rather than making her death even more painful by running with her in my arms, I decided to hold her hands while placing her head on my lap, letting the girl die in peace and in the company of an acquaintance.

Just as the girl's body went limp in my arms, Raven's voice resonated from the walkie-talkie that was left on the floor.

"Gina, Leon if you guys can hear me, cancel the self-destruction protocol. The code is 12-77-06-94-11-09. I repeat the code is 12-77-06-94-11-09."

I quickly went over to the keyboard and looked at the timer showing exactly 20 seconds left. Not wanting to waste any more of the precious time remaining, I start typing the code, but even after I pressed enter, the timer still continue to work despite my entering the code and from the look of it, we had nine seconds left. As soon as I saw the timer still counting down I panicked, thankfully just in time, Raven's voice managed to snap me out as she quickly told me what to press, and then nothing…

At the same time, Pike and the rest of the people that went to Polis made it into the room where the leaders were listening to Roan, the prince of Azgeda.

"Where are the assassins?"

Bellamy shouted to all of the people in the room trying to spot Echo, the grounder woman that had warned him of an attempt at Lexa's and Clarke's life.

"Where the hell is she?"

"Bell, maybe we were wrong about this. Maybe she lied so that we leave the bunker."

"I don't understand, O. Why would she lie?"

Seeing the armed people arguing in the middle of the door, Kane stepped forward and clasped a hand on the young, confused man's shoulder.

"Stand down, Blake."

As soon as he felt the hand on his shoulder, Bellamy nodded and handed his gun to Kane reluctantly, still feeling awful for being fooled so easily.

Just as he turned to go to the other people that were beside him, he heard a voice coming from his walkie-talkie.

"Bellamy? Bellamy, come in! The Grounders attacked Mount Weather!"

Right when they heard Raven's words, Bellamy, Octavia, Kane, Pike, Clarke, Abby, and every sky person looked at each other in alarm, not expecting such a sudden attack to happen, especially after the assassination attempt on all of the night bloods. While it was a shocking piece of information, Bellamy still didn't understand the whole picture, or at least his anger didn't let him.

"What are you talking about?"

"Azgeda, they attacked us."

Marcus's eyes went wide at the information. Abby told him that the Prince of the Ice Nation was going to hold a meeting today when all of the leaders of the coalition would be present. Various thoughts went through his head, but one stood to him more than the others did. Pike, Octavia, Bellamy, and the survivors from Farm Station had defiantly come here after someone tipped them about a possible attack on the commander's life, thus weakening the defense of mount weather and putting them in a bad light in front of the whole coalition.

"Reyes, this is Kane. What are you talking about? Please elaborate, otherwise, people would think we are making things up."

"I'm so sorry, sir. As I was saying, out of nowhere, at least a hundred grounders bearing the marks of Ice Nation, attacked us. They even sent people inside to kill the boy, only for them to die in the hands of our people, as well as the honor guard led by the commander's most trusted general. Thanks to the sacrifice of one of us, we managed to catch one of them alive. He gave us the information we need to confirm our fears: Ice Nation had decided to finally move against us."

A few seconds went by, and many still couldn't believe what they had just heard, yet for some reason, Clarke felt her heart hurting when she heard Raven's words.

"Reyes, can you tell me the name of the brave soldier that died catching the assassin?"

"He is…"
