Chapter 25 - Jade's Letter.

"If you have any questions regarding this spy report, you can just ask," said Ben with a slightly provoking yet teasing tone.

Hearing that from Ben, the King first gave him a cold leer before putting down the report in his hands.

"Alright, you better have a good reason to purposely send a spy to keep an eye on the daily life of a gardener." said the King who sounded slightly annoyed.

"Hmm... Now you asked, I shall let you know. This spy report is mainly for Rei, while that gardener is a special friend she is concerned about." said Ben who is obviously plotting something.

"A special friend? Male or female?" The King asked, rather concerned.

"Male..."

"What?!"

"A seven years old boy."

"Eh?"

"But if that seven is according to Qin's age calculation, he could be less than six," said Ben with a smug face as he shrugged.

"Ah... Less than six years old... Benjamin Hua! You are just making fun of me on purpose, right?" The King exclaimed in annoyance.

"Well, you are the one who chose to jump into the hole I dug for you, I wouldn't take that blame, after all, I did tell you that you don't need to see that report," said Ben who seemed to be in quite a good mood after teased the King.

Slightly triggered by that, the King grabbed that stack of spy reports he just put down and was about to 'attack' Ben with it. However, the King stopped his moves as soon as he saw that pale face and slightly wobbly body of Ben.

"Seriously, why bother making such a stupid joke when you are clearly feeling this unwell?" said the King as he once again put down the spy report in his hand.

"I seriously don't think these two matters are related in anywhere though," said Ben who casually took off his glasses and placed the glasses onto a small tea table nearby.

Seeing Ben taking off his glasses, the King sighed and moved his body a bit opening up a space for Ben on his bed just as the previous time. With no hesitation, Ben lay down by the King's side.

"If I am not sick and am in perfect condition, you can do all the crazy stuff as you like, and I will always have your back. But... The situation now just doesn't allow that. We can't afford to have both of us down at the same time." said the King as he looked at Ben with a worried look.

"Don't you worry about that, I know my own limits," said Ben.

"Hah... Alright then." said so, the King laid down on the bed as well.

"By the way... Ben, do we still have any extra units of spy available to be sent to the carnival market?"

"Yes, why?"

"There's someone who caught my attention."

"I see. I will get everything ready by tomorrow morning."

"Mmm... I appreciate that."

Meanwhile, Rei's room.

As Xi Er is doing some 'invisible' house chores, Rei and Holly are reading the letter from Jade. Since the letter is not written in Qin's words, Holly acts as a translator for Rei who is not very familiar with the Kingdom's words yet.

"So... Jade apologize for not writing in Qin Empire's words, she said that despite she can speak Qin language fluently, she is bad at writing in Qin," said Holly, translating the first sentence for Rei.

Hearing that, Rei laughed out a bit but immediately stopped the laughter, she realised that she was in the same position as Jade regarding the problems with foreign words.

"And she said not to worry about her, she is recovering and will probably be able to back to service in about a week." Holly continues translating the letter.

"Really? That would be great! But what did she mean by 'back to service'? Did she really still consider herself as my servant? Even when we went through this much?" said Rei who sounded slightly unhappy with the words used by Jade.

"Well, due to her past, Jade is not a very flexible person. But she doesn't have any bad intentions," said Holly.

"I do know about that but... It still makes me sad that I am unable to open her heart even after spending all these days with her," said Rei

"Well, if I were you, I wouldn't be saying such words," said Holly with a subtle expression.

"Why?" Rei asked, curious and confused.

"Hmm... This whole paragraph is for me, she said... *cough*... Holly, have you been taking good care of Lady Rei? Did she eat properly? Did she drink properly? Did she sleep properly? If you notice that she hasn't fallen asleep after twelve, she is probably having insomnia again. When that happens, you may give her an aromatherapy, and please take note that, she prefers essential oils than burning incense, although she has no problems with both of them. And yes, of course, Dr Ben's sleeping incense works well too, but she will end up oversleeping. And you probably need to monitor her diet, if possible, try to provide her with foods that are rich in fiber, to prevent constipa..."

"Ah! Stop reading it... It's embarrassing..." said Rei as her face flushed in embarrassment, she now understands that Jade has opened up to her in a way she doesn't know...

After skipping that slightly embarrassing part, Jade's letter is reaching an important and serious part.

According to the letter, Jade remembered all the details of that day when Rei almost got kidnapped by the snow bandits.

As soon as Rei fell asleep due to bell sound hypnosis, Jade noticed that the carriage they were riding on was accelerating at an unreasonable speed. Alerted by that, Jade immediately snuck her head out of the window, and to her shock, the cart was no longer in the town but in a wide snowy land. Based on common sense, no matter how fast a horsecart went, it was impossible for it to exit the town in just a blink of eye...
