"Where did all my stuff go?"
Wang Ran was very puzzled.
He had purposely left a note to prevent others from moving his goods.
Yet, he had barely been gone for half a day, and his things had vanished into thin air.
"Outrageous!"
Wang Ran walked to where the supplies were stacked, only to unexpectedly see the note he had written.
The note was thrown on the ground.
He bent down to pick it up and noticed strange wrinkles on it.
It was as if it had been soaked in water.
Wang Ran frowned and said, "Who exactly took my things away?"
He went to the security room to check the surveillance.
The basement surveillance... was broken!
"This surveillance is usually fine; it just suddenly went black at noon today."
The security guard said unhurriedly, "Don't panic just yet, I'll help you ask around in the group."
Wang Ran pursed his lips and said, "Thank you, Uncle."
There were a lot of things in the hallway of the basement; someone should have noticed if they were moved.
But he inexplicably had a bad feeling.
A few minutes later,
the security guard said with a puzzled look, "No one saw anything being moved out of the basement."
Wang Ran's eyebrows drew together tightly, "Can we check the surveillance near the teaching buildings?"
He couldn't believe it!
Could all that stuff really just disappear into thin air?
The security guard didn't refuse, "Sure! It's just a bit troublesome!"
The security guard brought up the surveillance near the basement and patiently helped Wang Ran to check it.
Time ticked by, second by second,
they reviewed more than twenty surveillance feeds,
but found nothing.
The items seemed to have really disappeared out of nowhere,
and no matter what, they could not be found.
The security guard clicked his tongue in wonder, "Eh, this is really strange!"
Many surveillance cameras captured Wang Ran bringing people to move the supplies into the basement, but none of them showed the supplies leaving the basement.
Where did those things go?
At first, Wang Ran thought that some department of the school had moved the items since the basement hallway was a public area, but since the surveillance caught nothing, the problem escalated to another level.
Who exactly took the items?
The security guard speculated, "Recently, there have been quite a few outsiders wandering around the university town; maybe they stole your stuff."
Wang Ran's eyebrows drew together tightly.
The surveillance captured nothing; clearly, the thief deliberately avoided the cameras.
Outsiders wouldn't know the blind spots of the school's surveillance.
Could it be...
Wang Ran was very puzzled.
As far as he knew, Doomsday Apostle was lurking in the school.
He didn't doubt that Doomsday Apostle could stealthily steal his things, but Doomsday Apostle was the kind of supervillain who could summon the end of the world, would they really stoop to stealing his trivial goods?
That would really be beneath them!
If it was really the work of Doomsday Apostle, then he had to reassess the organization.
As he couldn't figure out anything,
Wang Ran left the security room full of doubts.
Although he lost his things, he couldn't delay his plan; if he couldn't give chocolates, he would give something else,
Wang Ran once again arrived at the supermarket.
As soon as he entered, he saw several empty shelves, a testament to his large purchase that morning.
The shop assistant perked up as soon as she saw Wang Ran.
She greeted him sweetly, "Big boss!"
Wang Ran shrugged his shoulders, "Hey!"
He looked around and saw that most of the snacks had been cleared out by him in the morning, leaving only puff snacks.
Puff snacks take up too much space,
and are inconvenient to carry,
as he was going to visit each dormitory one by one, he couldn't possibly have the store clerk carry a big sack following him around.
Suddenly, his face took on a strange expression.
He thought of something.
"How many boxes of condoms do you have left here?"
Wang Ran lowered his voice and said, "I'll take them all."
What could be more suitable for his plan than condoms?
Not only are they portable,
but they could also get people talking,
To make it easier for him to distinguish.
Imagine if Doomsday Apostle were a tight-lipped person, he might just say thank you for snacks, but give him a box of condoms and he'd definitely have a more interesting reaction.
Wang Ran could also tease others,
proactively bring up topics,
and force those reluctant to talk to start a conversation.
Effortless!
Hearing Wang Ran's words, the salesgirl was stunned.
Her cherry lips opened into an 'o' shape involuntarily, the alluring crimson color climbing from her neck to her earlobes, swiftly conquering her cheeks.
She shyly lowered her head, not daring to meet Wang Ran's gaze.
"What... what did you say?"
Wang Ran suddenly felt a wave of social death.
He tensed the muscles in his face, trying to prevent his expression from collapsing while he replied softly, "I'm buying them to give away."
The salesgirl's voice was as faint as a mosquito's buzz.
"All of them?"
Wang Ran nodded, "All of them, and put them in a black plastic bag."
Shy as she was, business still had to be done.
The salesgirl busied herself,
and soon,
she handed a bulging black plastic bag to Wang Ran.
Wang Ran took the plastic bag,
their fingers lightly touched for a moment.
Yikes!
The salesgirl withdrew her hand as if shocked by electricity.
Wang Ran gave her a puzzled look, noticing the blush on her face deepen, and felt quite helpless.
I'm buying condoms to save the world,
not for anything sleazy,
don't get the wrong idea!
Wang Ran opened the plastic bag and took a peek inside,
roughly counting,
there were probably about forty or fifty boxes.
He estimated the number of male classmates and muttered to himself, "One person, five people, ten people, twenty people, thirty people..."
"That should be enough..."
The salesgirl's shoulders trembled slightly.
Oh my God!
So many people?
Her little heart pounded wildly, her delicate face quietly ripening like an enticing red apple, even a few strands of hair around her ears seemed to become disheveled without her noticing.
Wang Ran came to his senses,
and immediately noticed the change in the salesgirl.
"It's not what you think," he explained, "You're mistaken, I have a legitimate use for these!"
His explanation was unbearably weak.
What legitimate use could condoms have?
To blow up as balloons?
Wang Ran's explanation was not only futile, it made the situation worse, causing the salesgirl to involuntarily ponder the uses of condoms.
"Um..."
The salesgirl pursed her lips tightly.
As the atmosphere grew more awkward, Wang Ran couldn't hold it together any longer and fled, carrying the plastic bag out of the supermarket.
Farewell!
He arrived at the dormitory carrying a bag of condoms.
It was half past six in the evening,
not yet dark,
many students had not returned to the dormitory.
Wang Ran waited patiently.
In the meantime, he received the list of names from the class monitor, sorted out the information he had, and steadied his jumbled emotions.
This morning he was diligently studying,
yet before noon, he was burdened with the task of saving the world!
Lucky for him, he was a time traveler,
an ordinary person might take ten days just to come to terms with it. If the world depended on them, it would probably be the end!
Time flew,
those who went to play basketball, have dinner, or self-study all gradually returned to the dorm.
Wang Ran decided it was time to act.
During his waiting period, he had steeled himself, so now he knocked on the door of the neighboring dormitory without hesitation.
"Open up! Special delivery!"
