The offer

"Larissa, Boss is asking for you"

Once L stepped near her desk, the manager came to notify. Stunning the woman, a bit. So, the man really did want to talk with her? "Yes, Ma'am!" L flashed a smile. "I wonder why the Boss is attentive to our Larissa nowadays" On the other side, Mian mumbled to herself.

Observing her friend heading out to the office. "Do your work instead of considering about others, Miss Mian" Scowling, the manager alerted from the back. "Yeah, yeah" "Risa! It is a good thing you are nearby. Are you free this noon? Or maybe around evening after the worktime?"

Beneath a smile, Luke approached the woman in front of the office. It caught her off guard. Strange. "What's wrong?" L frowned. "Let's have meal together. I have a restaurant I wish to try" He invited. Hushing down L. Why was he trying to get closer? This was suspicious.

"Ah, I actually promised Mian to get some bread together. I am sorry" Tilting her head, L declined the offer with a frown. A sigh of disappointment echoed. Perplexing L somehow. To be honest, Luke had been wanting to thank Risa for her courageous refusal upon Warren Vincent.

He found her admirable.

The fact that he sat behind her to hear how defensive she was to the company and the Boss, melted the man's heart. "Then, let's go when you have time. Contact me when you have clear schedule, okay?" Luke beamed. Blinding the woman almost. "Sure. I will call you" she nodded.

"He sure has a bright smile" Muttering, L walked away. She knocked on the door. Receiving a response. "Did you call for me, Boss?" L's voice rang within the room. Her eyes met the man sitting at table. This reminded her of the first time they met. But now, it was a bit different.

Adelio had his eyes fixed on the woman across. "About the welcome party, you have been selected officially. There is no need to prove your worth" He proclaimed. What's there to wait when he had affirmed how loyal she was? It put a confused scowl upon the woman's face.

"But we promised not to decide before the monthly sale results, Boss. Also, I don't wish to attend the welcome party" She lowered her head. "Don't bother about the results. You will be all fine there. I am attending at late hour" Adelio declared. L's brows rose. Oh. Late hour.

His fear of crowd remained.

"Then, please allow me to accompany you at the welcome party" She flashed a smile. "About the questions, what is your favorite color?" The unexpected query stunned the woman. L blinked. What kind of question was this? Was this his flirting move perhaps?

Adelio cleared his throat when he realized the puzzled expression across L's face. "I did not mean it with ill intentions. We have to match the color of our clothes on that night according to the conditions" He explained. It was when L gasped. She chuckled.

How delusional of her! "Any color is fine, Boss. You can choose" She shrugged. Putting a frown on the man's face. "White?" He tilted his head. He really did ignore her words. "Sure. Anything you prefer, Boss" L did not request. It was not that important to choose the color actually.

The main problem for her was that she had to buy a new dress. With the floral dresses and shirts in closet, she wouldn't even pass the gate. "What day is it today?" The man suddenly asked. "Tuesday, Boss" L answered. "Oh, you have work after then" A murmur echoed in office.

Hushing down the woman.

He knew her work days at café? Cherry must have told him. "Let's do it like this. On Thursday, you will be coming with me" Adelio proclaimed. L's eyes widened slightly. "Boss, may I ask where we are going?" She scowled. It was not something bad, right? "Shop" He replied.

Now, the path became visible enough for the woman to take a guess. They were going to hunt for clothes on that day. "Understood, Boss" L bowed her head. It caught the man's curiosity. She did not ask further what they were doing. She just accepted it.

Wasn't she curious? Or did she think she would be taking the secretary spot to assist him on that day? "Can I leave now, Boss?" L's voice broke the silence. "Yes" Adelio nodded. "What was it? What was it?" Excited, Mian approached her friend to dig for the information.

"I will tell you later when we head out for bread" L whispered. Causing Mian to sigh. "Did you learn how to hang a person's mind or some? You always make me look forward to meet you" Rolling eyes, Mian walked back to her desk while L chuckled to hear the statement.

That night, L avoided the man.

She chose the time he would leave and worked only when he disappeared from the café. Meeting him frequently could bore him soon. She must play the hard-to-get card well. "Vio..." Laying on the bed, L called out the man's name. "What?" He popped up in a blink.

Like a magus, he appeared through thin air. "Wow, you really did come" L sat up; eyes glinting in amusement to see such a sight. "Of course, I keep my words" He frowned. "Can't you help me with something?" Beneath a beam, L demanded. "I can't make money like papers"

Without listening further, Vio declined. Annoying the woman. "You don't even look like someone who can do it anyway. It is not my request" She hissed. "Then what else?" Vio queried. "What is Warren Vincent planning?" Furrowing brows, L threw a question. "I don't know"

Vio shook his head. "Is there something you are capable of at this point? I know you are aware! This is your system. Spill the tea if you wish me to get the money from Adelio" Crossing arms, L ordered. "I can't say anything. You have to find out by yourself. It's your part"

Vio retorted.

"Useless man..." Raising her upper lip, L cursed. Upsetting the man across. "Excuse me?" He scowled. "Whatever! Get out of my sight! A pathetic man like you who can't show face should disappear!" L waved her hand. It was when the man scoffed in disbelief. "Rude woman"

Murmuring, he vanished. "All I want to know is Warren's plan. How could he be this heartless to seal his lips tightly?" L furiously muttered. She laid down under a sigh. It's been days since she had entered this world. It felt a bit boring to circulate in office only. She wanted thrill.

An exhilarated event.

Next day, L sat at her desk for hours and worked silently. Her tranquility was shocking to other coworkers. The energetic woman seemed to be down today strangely. "Larissa, do you have any problems going on? You can tell me. I will listen" Mian frowned.

As a friend, she wished to lift the mood of the woman. L's head turned. "What? No, I am fine. There is nothing happening" She beamed. Causing the woman to sigh in concern. "Larissa, don't forget that I am with you always" What could she do when her friend was bottling up?

Mian could only support with words due to the fact that she had no clue what was occurring behind the curtains. Hours passed and yet L continued to work till seven. Her mind wandered in boredom. Daily office work became annoying matter. At the time, Adelio walked in.

His eyes gleamed to see the woman working alone at night. Her eyes displayed exhaustion. She did not even notice his appearance. "Miss Larissa, aren't you leaving for work?" Adelio's voice echoed. Capturing the woman's attention fully. She jumped up, promptly.

"I wanted to finish the project first, Boss"

She smiled. "Project? Is the manager pressuring you to complete it with deadline?" Adelio's right brow arched. "No, Boss. It is my wish" The woman denied. Confusing the man. The woman's mood was not being usual. "I will postpone the deadline if there is one. You may leave"

Adelio permitted. It quieted down L. No, she must not lose hope in this world. Look at him, look at this provider. Her goal had to be achieved no matter what the circumstances were. This man was slowly letting her in. She must grasp the chance tightly without hesitation.

"Then, I guess I will pack up" Wearing a smile, L arranged her files to leave. But to her surprise, Adelio stood there still as if he was waiting for her to leave together. Slowly, L's gaze lifted to meet with the man's eyes. "Is there anything you want to tell me, Boss?" She frowned.

"I can drop you off at the café. We are heading to same place anyway" Words permeated into the woman's ears like a sweet candy. Her lips curved up as she shook her head. "Please don't trouble yourself, Boss. I can go on my own" First rejection was a must for a woman.

Adelio furrowed his brows.

"I don't mind. Come with me"
