Alexa felt a sense of awkwardness course through her after muttering those words to Christopher. She had not meant to say anything about her phone or her mom, and even though it didn't seem as much, she felt she had said something she probably shouldn't have.
Something personal.
It was awkward, and the look he was regarding her made it all the more awkward.
Disconcerted, Alexa lowered her eyes from his. "Why are you staring at me like that?" She asked, picking up her fork and distracting her eyes with the eggs.
"I just realized I shouldn't have called it a scrap."
Alexa snatched her gaze towards him, confusion layered her eyes.
"Your phone," Christopher motioned his chin towards the dainty looking device in her hand and Alexa followed his gaze. "It's something of sentimental value to you, and I understand the need of wanting to hold on to it," he said and paused briefly. "What I'm saying is...I'm sorry." He apologized.
