Chapter 30.3 : Experiments

After taking another look at Jonathan, who had seemingly returned to normal, as well as at Josuke, who seemed to have fallen into thought right now, Diana let out a faint sigh before placing the corpse of the monster onto the floor of the car, uncaring about the fluid that looked like blood, which was dirtying the floor.

After all, even if the car was perfectly clean, Diana could never allow a vehicle, or even an item that had been touched by one of the monsters to reappear in the outside world.

Although at first glance, the monsters seemed quite weak when compared to Diana, who could easily defeat both of the monsters that had appeared for now in a straight-up battle, this did not mean that they were not strong or threatening.

Even putting the battle strength of the monsters, which could make a large percentage of stand users to feel helpless, aside, Diana knew that their effects on the human consciousness, especially after prolonged exposure, could be far worse than just some pain.

This is why sincerely wished that death was the worst thing that could happen to those exposed to the monsters.

As if not, things could get really ugly really fast.

...

Thirty minutes later,

After around thirty minutes of boring car travel later, Diana finally arrived at her destination, a large military base located near a small city in Siberia.

In fact, the city was so small that Diana immediately knew that it was created just to house the relatives of the soldiers living on the military base.

As soon as Diana's car arrived at the entrance of the military base, it stopped, seemingly like an ordinary car.

But as one might expect, merely a few moments later, the car was allowed to enter the military base without any sort of searching.

Furthermore, even as the car went into the deepest and most secure and private areas of the military base, nothing seemed to stop it.

Finally though, after around three minutes of relatively slow travel through the base, Diana arrived at her final destination, a lab, located in the heart of the military base.

As she looked out of the window of her car, at the five soldiers that were standing in the Russian cold, waiting for her to arrive, Diana couldn't help but let out a faint breath and turn her attention to her driver.

"Speed up, you're driving like a snail," said Diana, causing the driver to instantly speed up the car, knowing that his life and death depended on the person behind him.

Soon after, the car was finally able to park outside the lab, allowing one of the soldiers to open the rear door, causing Diana to finally step out of the car, making her feel a cold burst of wind suddenly slap her face.

Although Diana no longer had any sort of weakness to fire and heat, Diana still very much preferred the cold, perhaps because of her vampire origins.

"Lady Diana, the Doctor is waiting for you inside his laboratory, he is very sorry for not being able to greet you personally, but as you may know, it is best if news of his 'situation' do not spread very far," said the soldier, causing Diana to nod.

What the soldiers said was fair, as although Diana secretly controlled many of the news sources in Russia, she was still of course not omniscient, and could not know everything that was happening.

"That is far, both this car and the driver have seen too much, I will leave both of them to the Doctor to dispose of," said Diana, causing the leader soldier to nod, having understood her subtext.

Merely a moment later, as Diana walked into the lab, following the soldier she had just spoken to, two of the remaining soldiers took action, and quickly dragged the driver out of the vehicle.

After one of the soldiers took a look at the backseat of the car, as well as at the dead thing which was placed there, he quickly got to work after sorting out his large headache, and began driving the car into the lab through a much larger entrance that.

...

The moment Jonathan walked into the lab, he suddenly gagged, and not because of the skinless man standing near its center, nor the monster that was lying down on the operating table next to him.

Although the man unnerved Jonathan for some reason, Jonathan did not truly feel repulsed by him, instead, the man's work was clearly much better at doing just that.

In just the relatively small room that he was in right now, Jonathan could see several dozen corpses, each of which had organs seemingly ripped out of them.

In his life, Jonathan had seen his fair share of fighting, as well as a large amount of blood, but what had happened inside this place disgusted him to the highest degree.

"You see, you don't need to try to help that woman, having her gone would make the world a much better place," said Josuke, causing Jonathan to fall silent.

Uncaring about the thoughts of the Joestars, Diana quickly made her way to Mikhail and immediately spoke.

"Where is the thing you've told me about?" asked Diana, clearly much more interested in the thing that had brought her here than the rest of Mikhail's research.

Hearing this, as well as staring at the cold expression on Diana's face, which was much more hurried than usual, Mikhail did not even greet Diana.

"Follow me, lady Diana," said Mikhail before quickly walking up to a metal door labeled 27.

Unlocking the door, and passing through several meters of metal, Mikhail arrived at the things that Diana had asked him about.

...

As she looked at the five soldiers lying there dead, with their bodies restrained, Diana instantly became serious.

"Mikhail, have you become assured of their death?" asked Diana as she approached one of the soldiers who had tasted the effects that the effects the monsters could have on humans.

"Yes, lady Diana, they are categorically dead, I've already verified this fact dozens of times."

Merely a moment after that, Diana suddenly smashed her hand through the chest of one of the soldier's, causing the eyes of the monster to instantly open, much to the shock of the old doctor, who was standing nearby.
