[Welcome, we open up on a dark night, the town is asleep with only the sound of crickets and night workers to make noise. To start our journey off we start off in a house that is well, for a lack of a better word we can say is utter shit, the house is one story with paint chipping off of it.

On top is a birds nest that appears to have been abandoned months ago but there are broken eggs inside of it. Taking a look inside we find that the house is dark except for a single room which is lit well.

Sitting in the room is a teenager, Key, why don't you go ahead and introduce your character.]

"What the hell is going on?!" Cupid said wide eyed as he sat on his bed, in his hands is a text book along with a notebook which he had notes in. Just a moment ago he was trying to finish studying for a test he had tomorrow and out of nowhere he started hearing a voice narrating in his head, he was really confused.

(Right, my well my character or rather I am Cupid Gallo, I am sixteen years old and go to Beacon Hills High School. I am a rogue who is a Half-Elf. Umm describing myself I am six foot one with ash hair and blue eyes, I am kind of athletic but not good enough as I am currently sitting bench in lacrosse.

To describe my personality I am a loner who has trust issues due to my mother leaving when I was a child. As for friends, who needs them college is the best thing for me at this moment.)

Cupid's eye twitched as he heard 'his' background being spoken, the voices weren't really gender based but they did speak into his head as if they were roll playing his life or something. He was now extremely curious, especially since it turns out he was a half elf, like what the hell is going on right now.

He couldn't ask anyone either because he was sure they would lock him up in Eichen House if he was to tell anyone, hell he himself was considering it because the voices sounded so clear and real.

[Alright great, well tell me what you would like to do. You have twelve hours until school, so what does Cupid do?]

'Umm I'm clearly going to study, I have to pass this test if I want even a chance to try-out for first line in two days.' Cupid thought with an eye roll, he just let the voices speak, it wasn't as if they controlled his actions.

(Let's explore the house, Cupid has studied enough, and since we are starting at this time it is clear that something is going on here. Any newbie could tell you that.)

Cupid rolled his eyes but they grew wide the next moment when he stood up and began to walk around his house, although he was mentally commanding his body to go back it wouldn't work. "What the hell is going on?!" Cupid asked helplessly, luckily his dad was gone or he would think he was crazy at this moment.

He felt the urge to search the house so that is exactly what he did looking but not knowing exactly what he was searching for, nothing had changed in the past eight hours since he had been home. He didn't know what the hell was going on, but he willed his body to listen to him, unluckily it didn't listen and he continued to search for something.

[Cupid, why don't you go ahead and give me an investigation check.]

(Alright...*Clack* *Clack* *Clack*...I got an 8)

[Mhmm okay, because this is your home and you have been it so long you can roll with *advantage.]

(Okay..*Clack* *Clack* *Clack*...I got an 9.)

[Haha wow, okay well it still is your house so you notice things out of place, which is why when the moon cast light into the house you see a board out of place. The light that touches it shows something shinning.]

(I check it out.)

Cupid was actually intrigued and didn't mind that his body followed the words of the guy, he went to where he did see something shining in the moonlight, walking over he pulled on the loose panel. Opening it he saw that a medium sized case was there, he could faintly hear the people speaking but it was low as he went to open the case.

His eyes widen as he opened it and inside he saw a rapier that shimmered in the moonlight, when the light reflected off it he was actually blinded for a moment as it hit his left eye. He didn't know much about rapiers but he could tell with what little knowledge he did have that it was a well made blade, he could also tell that it wasn't normal either just from the weight of it but he was clueless to what it was.

Setting it to the side he checked to see what else was inside and saw a well made bow that had a quiver of arrows with it, the quiver held twenty arrows each with a feather that he couldn't identify on them. Lastly at the bottom was a necklace with a bow and arrow pendant, the chain was cool to the touch and seemed to pulse with energy as he wrapped his hands around it, it felt right in his possession.

Coming back to himself he sees a note that is left, the paper looks a little worn from years of sitting there, it was different from everything else that seemed brand new in the case.

(Thankfully as a Half-Elf I speak English and Elvish, with my third language being Italian, wanted to spice things up.)

Well that explained why he could pass his Italian class with ease, apparently it was a known language for him, he had never seen Elvish though but after only seeing the note for a second the scribbles turned into something he could just understand.

'Dear Cupid,

If you have found this then that means you have found the case I left for you. Which means the world is about to get bigger for you and things are going to happen that you don't understand. I want you to know that it will all be okay, even if I can't be there to guide you that everything will be fine, I believe in you my little snow-pea.

The necklace I leave you is something that can help guide you when using you now. It will also with the help from water of the tree of life open a portal to me. Sadly I can not just come to you as my duty keeps that from happening, I don't ask for you to seek me out but I do want you to join me when you can.

Cupid had tears streaming, it was a simple note but after years of believing she had just left him, to learn that with this necklace he could find her, well he would try his best to do just that. He would get to his mother and learn why she really left him, he wanted to know what was so important that she had to leave him, no he needed to know.

[Key, you can go ahead and write 'Mothers Necklace' in your Inventory]

(Sweet, it gives me Advantage on Bow attacks and gives me +1 to Wisdom saving throws.)

Cupid didn't know how much that would help him but he slipped on the necklace with a smile, running a hand over it he smiled just as there was a knock at the front door. Walking to the door he saw two cops standing there waiting for him.

[Cupid, go ahead and give me an insight check.]

(Oh shit...*Clack* *Clack* *Clack*...I got a 19.)

[You notice as you look at these cops that whatever they say is about to be bad. Like your life is horrible, your mother left when you were a kid, and your dad has always been someone who was never really around as he was always gone doing, Lord knows what.

The look they give you though is one of pity, they have taken in the image of your house and cheap clothes. The officer with the bushy mustache on the right checks out the inside of your house and sees the empty beer bottles and smells the stale air and grimaces.

The cop on the left sighs as he talks...]

"Is this the home of Grey Gallo?" The clean looking officer ask but Cupid is stunned as his mind took in the details mentioned, all he could do was nod, "I am sorry to have to inform you that tonight your father died in what seems to be an animal attack, is there anyone else we can talk to?"

(I don't think it would be a good idea to tell them I am alone, nah I would be with social services so fast, I lie telling them my mom is at work.)

[Okay, give me a deception check with *disadvantage as you are a teen trying to lie to the cops.]

(*Clack* *Clack* *Clack*...I got a 15.)

[Damn a fifteen, even with disadvantage?!]

(I have a *+6 to my deception. My other roll was a nineteen.)

"Umm no sorry, my mom is out at work. It is just me in, I-I should probably go call her." Cupid said his mind still reeling form hearing that apparently his father had died from some animal attack tonight.

[The cops seem to believe, even if they want to call you out on that.]

(I ask them about the animal.)

The cops turn to leave but he speaks before they can, "Wait! What kind of animal did it? Can you tell me that at least?"

The one with the bushy mustache from his shirt his name reads Baxter says, "You haven't heard? There has been a string of attacks lately, this is the third person killed by the mountain lion that is out there."

Cupid frowned, "Where was he found?"

They look to one another before Baxter speaks again, "He was found at 'Knolls Convenience Store' in the middle of town."

Cupid frowned as he heard that, why would a mountain lion be anywhere near the middle of town, there is no way it would have walked around there without someone realizing it was there. Something wasn't adding up in his head, and he didn't know if it was because of the changes in his life or the voices but his rogue side was making him want to investigate all of this, he didn't trust the information.

(Nah, none of this is adding up. I am going to check this shit out myself.)

Cupid agreed with the voice, he was going to check this out, the moment the cops left he was heading out there to check this out, he wanted to see everything for himself, "Thank you, at least I will have something to tell my mother. Have a good night officers." Cupid said politely.

With a nod they took off allowing Cupid to close the door, he watched from the window as the cop car pulled away.

(Alright, now that the cops are gone, it is time for me to check this out myself.)

[Alright, well that was Key. Now moving to another part of town we have...]

The voices cut away and Cupid could no longer hear them, he was actually curious cause it seemed like someone else was also experiencing what he was, he wondered if they would hear voices too. He pushed those thoughts for later though, instead he strapped his rapier to his waist and took his bow and arrows and left out the back window of his house.

He did not know if the cops would be waiting and watching him, so he decided to sneak out, thankfully he didn't hear voices asking for a stealth check or anything. With quick feet he moved into the streets leaving his house behind him as he began his long walk to the 'Knolls Convenience Store'.
