Chapter Twenty-Five - Crowley

"Yes, please! Come in." Hannah said, gesturing Tyler inside, "Would you like a drink? Tea, coffee?"

"Oh, I'd love a cup of tea, please. White, two sugars." Tyler replied.

"Coming right out! Now, why did the hospital send a psychiatrist for me? Seems a bit of a waste of resources?"

"Your doctor requested I come out and do an assessment and ask you more about your symptoms. That way, we get an idea about how to move forward and how best to help you, seeing the abnormalities of your conditions. Unfortunately, onset arthritis at twenty years old is rare, not to mention following up with a fever."

Hannah came out with two cups and a plate of biscuits.

"Help yourself." She told before looking Tyler up and down. "You seem a bit young to be a psychiatrist. Younger than me even." She seemed uneasy in her words.

"Thank you! But I just have a baby face. If we could focus on the matter, I'll be out of your hair very short. I will write your response on this notepad to review later if that's okay?"

Hannah nodded, allowing Tyler to ask his questions. "Now, how long have you had this pain in your joints?"

"I'd say about two weeks now. I was out walking and felt my entire body seize up, rendering me unable to move. It lasted roughly two minutes before it disappeared, and I could move again. That's when I went to the doctor. The fever came shortly after, maybe a day or two. I was running extremely hot to the touch. I couldn't tell you how hot as I never got the chance to check."

"Did you not have access to a thermometer?"

"I do, but it lasted about ten seconds and then back to normal again."

Tyler wrote this down in his notebook, recording everything Hannah had told him. "So, have you experienced anything else lately? This might sound a bit weird, but any hair growing abnormally?" He took a sip of his tea, expecting a shocking response from her.

"Umm, I wouldn't say so. No. Is that normal for people with arthritis? I don't see how that would correlate." Hannah seemed confused yet pressed for more. "I haven't had any other symptoms lately. Not even the stiffness when I'm walking. It's mainly when I'm led in bed or relaxed."

"Right, so what I'm getting from this is your body and muscles are relaxed, and your joints seize up."

'Not typical werewolf behaviours.' He thought to himself.

"This may seem out of the ordinary, but there is no sensation of something coming out of you?"

Hannah looked highly uncomfortable, stirring and fidgeting in her seat.

"I think you need to leave now, doctor. Finish your tea, and I'll walk you out." Tyler nodded, understanding he had gone too far.

'Who knew interrogation was so much harder without hurting the person?' He joked in his mind. With that, he finished his drink and walked to the front door, thanking Hannah for her time. He began to walk to Roxy's bike before being grabbed by Hannah again, sounding much more confident than before.

"Who are you. Really?" She asked, looking over at the motorbike.

"I'm a psychiatrist. Just as I told you. What makes you think otherwise?"

"For starters, psychiatrists don't turn up on a Ducati. Secondly, they don't wear cheap ass suits." She smiled, knowing she had Tyler figured out. "If you're who I think you are, we need to talk properly. No bullshit."

Tyler smiled, "Who is it you think I am? If you're in danger, I promise I can help."

"My best guess, and biggest hope, is you are Tyler Brown. I have a message for you from Alister Crowley. I can't discuss it here, though. There are ears everywhere. Is there a place where I can meet you? Somewhere private and hidden?"

Tyler thought about his home but decided against it. If she wanted privacy, maybe a Hunter safehouse wasn't the best choice of action.

"I have a friend who can help both of us. Meet me here. I'll meet you outside at five tomorrow evening? We can discuss whatever you need there. In the meantime, here's my phone number. If you need me at any time, day or night. Just give me a call, and I'll be there." Tyler scribbled down his phone number and the location of Thomas' hideout on his notepad before passing it to Hannah. "And whoever this Alister Crowley is, tell him he's in safe hands too. Whatever the problem, we will get to the bottom."

Hannah nodded, hiding the paper in her pocket before retreating into her house. Tyler swang his leg over the motorbike, pulling out his phone in search of Roxy's phone number.

"Hey, babe! How did it go?" She asked gleefully.

"Pretty shit. I have no idea if she's the werewolf or not. She told me, though, that a man named Alister Crowley had a message for me. I told her to meet me at Thomas' hideout so we could talk properly. She seemed scared of something. I'll explain it properly when I'm back. I'm on my way now."

"Okay! Make sure you drive safe. I'll look into this Alister Crowley person. His name sounds familiar. I'll see what I come back with and let you know."

Tyler thanked her before setting off back home.

Roxy was on their bed, books and printed-off articles surrounding her as if she had been searching hard and long.

"Find anything? It looks like a bomb hit in here!" Tyler mocked, rushing over to kiss Roxy.

"Honestly, the more I look, the more confused I get. You are sure that Hannah said, Alister Crowley? Certain of it?"

Tyler grew just as confused as Roxy felt. His words became slow and precise.

"Yes. One hundred per cent Alister Crowley. Why?"

"Because Alister Crowley has been dead for seventy-four years. He was a master of the occult and magic. So why would Hannah have a message from him?"
