Chapter Ten - Liar Liar

Tyler burst through the double doors, sprinting after Roxy as she pursued a quick exit to the roof.

"Quick! Grab the bag under the roof tiles!" Roxy called, signalling Tyler to jump from the wall and through the ceiling tile, retreating a large duffle bag filled with all sorts required for the intense night ahead of them.

Tyler reached the rooftop shortly after Roxy had set up a temporary ground base for them to case the building. Throwing the bag on the ground by her feet, Tyler unzipped it, revealing a bow stealthy black compound bow, a single rope arrow and both their Master Hunter outfit.

"You know they won't forgive you for this, Tyler. I tried to warn you." Roxy told, beginning to undress. Her body revealed various scars and scratches as she took each layer of clothing off.

"They'll be fine. I'm sure they will forgive me; it was urgent!" Tyler replied, doubt in his voice.

"Here!" Roxy threw Tyler's Hunter outfit at him and two wrist blades, "I doubt that very much, but you aren't going to listen to me, are you? They go on your wrists like this. Discrete and laced with a fast-acting poison, one scratch is lethal."

"They were happy enough for us to hang out after not seeing me for a few days?"

"Well, this was their chance to see you and spend time with you, and you ditched them, so... see it how you want. But, unfortunately, it's not gonna be the same as last time." Roxy sounded cold. "Look, you go in mid, take down the guards holding back the elevator, and I'll work my way from the bottom as planned. We meet at the elevators and go to the top to take down the target. Understood? Any problems, shout, and I will be there" Roxy's voice felt rash and angry as they made their way to Tyler's ears. Even though she was angry, she moved close, landing a kiss on Tyler's lips before picking up the single arrow and drawing the bowstring back, aiming towards the Prince Accounting building and released.

The arrow flew through the crisp night air, leaving nothing but a whistle in its wake before clinging to the building, creating a zip wire for him to go down.

Tyler looked at Roxy, standing on the roof's edge, staring down at the drop below. "Ready, partner?" She asked.

Roxy nodded before gracefully falling from the rooftop with her arms spread wide. Tyler attached the zip wire attachment and took a deep breath.

"Let's do this." He muttered before stepping off the rooftop, sending him propelling faster and faster until he reached the window on the 7th floor, bursting through and sending shards of glass like a hand grenade throughout the floor.

Tyler had no time to think before being charged by guards around him. The first tried to throw a punch, to which Poppy Root took effect. His whole body flooded with a power he could not explain. It was like his body and mind became one, fueling his adrenaline into something else. His newfound Hunter reflexes did quick work, dodging him, taking his hand, twisting it around, and snapping his arm in half. Tyler noticed a small handgun poking out of the holster; swiftly taking it for himself, he aimed and shot three of the guards before throwing the gun at a fourth and springing off of a fallen guard to perform a makeshift dropkick. The screams of pain and gunshots filled the building, causing an alarm and sending the facility into lockdown.

'What the hell did I just do?' He wondered, joy in his mind.

"Tyler, we need to get him now," Roxy called over his coms.

"Way ahead of you. Meet you the stairs?" He said calmly and relaxed. Roxy felt in her bones that something was off. Sensing this could be a bad idea, she dashed for the stairs to meet Tyler before he went on his own.

She stopped at the seventh floor and stood in horror at the carnage that had taken place there. 'Did Tyler do this? What the hell did The Grand Master do to him?' She wondered, fear starting to fill her mind.

Tyler made it to the top floor just before Roxy flung herself through a set of double doors next to him.

"Ready? It's now or never, Tyler." Roxy said, shoving the fear into a deep section of her mind.

"That Poppy Root is something else, Rox! I never thought I could do that!" Tyler responded before pushing open a set of heavy steel doors.

The room was ginormous, filled with oil paintings and various pottery forms. A sizeable stained window stood in front of the pair, letting in the only light in the room from the busy streets and the colourful buildings. In front stood a tall man with dark brown hair wearing a brown leather jacket and blue jeans.

"Mr Prince." Tyler began, before putting out his bladed wrist, "You had a chance, and you let it go. A missed opportunity. Now, to pay back all those you took, we're here to take your life."

Before Mr Prince could turn around, Tyler sprinted towards him, Roxy right behind, and plunged his blade into the back of Mr Prince's throat, causing his body to collapse with his hands wrapped around his neck like a blanket. Blood pooled from the body like a river.

"Confirm target kill," Roxy called over her comms.

"Kill confirmed. Get out of there, you two." Replied overwatch.

Roxy looked over at Tyler in dread, knowing what she had done to this once innocent boy. Neither said a word but instead moved from the area quickly to avoid being seen by anyone else.

The two made it out just as quickly as they got in and returned to their friends in the nightclub, praying they hadn't left. Tyler entered the club with adrenaline flooding through his body, coursing through his veins as he reluctantly looked for the friends he left behind for the mission.

"Where are they?" He questioned, pushing past others as he began to panic.
