"He became a man slag."

Chapter 3

I honestly couldn't believe it. How could this happen to dad? " I can't believe this Grace, how could Millie do that?" I gasped.

"I remember when I was younger, I heard my dad talking to Bryley, and she said that even though he got raped, he got something amazing out of it," she took a deep breath "then after that, they talked about this guy named James but I stopped listening then because I was just so shocked with everything." She said it so casually, you could tell that it didn't faze her anymore.

"Oh, I nearly forgot. It would have been twins but my egg donor fucked it up."

"Mum was right Grace," I smiled at her "dad honestly got the best thing out of this and what did you mean she fucked it up?"

"Well, her body wasn't big or strong enough to have twins so she went into labour at 5 months, and when she was about to give birth, the doctors said they could only save 1 after I was born so she chose herself over my other sibling." Grace sniffled.

"Don't cry Grace, your sibling is watching over you right now and he'd hate if he saw you crying." Kaiden reassured while wiping his eyes.

If this wasn't such a sad conversation I'd be laughing at Kaiden trying to conceal his tears.

"Anyway, let's change the topic," Grace continued "your uncle Michael is fucking hot."

"Ew, never say that again." I grimaced.

When the fuck is the food getting here?

I look up at my big brother to see him conversing with Grace and laughing with his eyes slightly crinkling at the corners.

God, there's no other brother I'd ever want. We've been through so much together.

A beautiful smell wafted through my nose and I swear down I nearly drooled.

"Here's your food." The waitress smiled shyly. I read her name tag, and it said Happy.

I need to put my matchmaking powers to the test. Kaiden will definitely date Happy or talk to her by the time we go back to dad's house.

"Kaiden you better eat like an actual person today" I realised there was no point in me saying that because when I looked at his plate half his food had already vanished and he had his fork in his mouth.

"Too late."

"Don't talk with your mouth full." I scowled while slowly chewing my chicken.

"Any lads you like Grace?"

"Nope, had enough of silly boys for now." she sipped her drink slowly.

"What about you guys? You had anyone in your life recently?" She gave me a mischievous smirk.

What did she know that I didn't?

"Nope, not a single person," I started cackling really loudly. "you get that pun? Nah, I'm joking. I haven't been with anyone that is single or taken."

"Don't lie Kehlani we both know you still fancy Liam." Kaiden snorted.

"Shut up Kaiden! I don't even like him." I glared.

"Lani is this the same Liam that went to Italy?" Grace asked happily.

"Yes, it is. I liked him like 2 years ago Kaiden now I hate him." I groaned while trying to cover my face.

"Why do you hate him?"

"He became a man slag in Italy, we were dating and he decided not to talk to me for over a month," I averted my eyes to the table so I didn't have to look at either of them "so it didn't work and then I found out he hooked up with a girl called Heather Fish." I hated talking about my past. I had always lied about a lot of things that happened between me and Liam. But for the first time in a long time, I told them about what occurred.

"Liam cheated on you?!" I could practically see Kaiden's head exploding.

"Calm down Kaide!" Grace demanded.

"He hurt her Grace, he hurt my sister!" I could tell that it hurt Kaiden. I never wanted to see him upset about this.

"It's fine Kaide I'm over it." I reassured him and gave him a confident smile.

I continued to eat my food, and he played with his remaining food while he gave curt replies to Grace.

•••••

"Thank you for tonight G." Kaiden had already gone upstairs claiming that he was tired.

"It's fine Kehlani, go to bed your going to your grandmas in the morning."

"What? Weren't we supposed to go in like 2 days?" I asked, not exactly happy about not seeing Grace for a while.

"I'm going to Spain for work and I can't leave you 2 here alone."

"Oh okay, I'll call you in the morning then?" I would definitely miss my sister.

Hopefully, she wouldn't be gone for long.

"Yeah goodnight." she yawned.

"Night."

I groggily walked to my room and entered my bathroom to brush my teeth and clean my face.

Once I had finished, I changed into my pyjamas and entered my bed.

I closed my eyes, and I was slowly succumbing to sleep but then my pillow vibrated.

Oh, for fuck's sake.

Who's ringing me now?

I reached for my phone and picked up the phone not looking at the caller ID

"What the fuck, man! You don't call me when I'm trying to sleep!" I was beyond mad. Whoever calls people when they're sleeping just want a punch to the face. It's honestly piss-taking.

"Miss me baby girl" His deep voice startled me which caused me to hang up the phone.

No.

No.

No.

I can't believe he had the guts to call me.

He was the one person I never thought I'd hear from again.
