Chapter 56

Kara knocked on the door to Shera's study and smiled as she walked in. "Hey, stranger."

Shera ended the call she was on, telling the other party she would call them in a bit. Then she looked Kara up and down. "You look much so better now. Last night you looked like you were on the verge of passing out. I was starting to wonder if you were any better off than the attacked members."

Kara rolled her eyes as she settled into the chair opposite Shera's desk. "Unfortunately, I made it out alive too. You're stuck with me for much longer than you thought." She cracked, then she remembered why she was here. "Carlos said you wanted to speak to me."

"Yes. It's about your move to Ciel."

Kara swallowed, nudging the chair forward for her to inch closer. "Before you say anything, I'm sorry. I realize I've been quite selfish, running off without considering how that will affect you and Grand View."
